I found this local place to be friendly and clean. Yes, you share tables and stools with other folks, but so what?!The suadero pork sandwich and chorizo tortas were very good.Service was nice and friendly.Go there and be surprised!

I had a lovely meal here. Reviews are very mixed. My hostel owner recommended it and it is always foolish to ignore local knowledge. It is a no frills establishment in a charming building with a tiled floor and stone walls and lots of pictures/other artifacts gracing the walls. For me the reception was lovely - particularly important as I was dining solo. No language barrier. I had guacamole and the poblano mole chicken ie the sweetish chilli chocolate sauce. Service was speedy and the food delicious. Had a glass or two of the Tempranillo too. Dined with locals. Had a very pleasant evening. Cash only.

This cafe/restaurant was in our favourite part of the town. Plenty of outdoor tables for good people watching. We had a breakfast, dinner and stopped for several drinks hete. Great cappuccinos. Food wasn't outstanding but reasonable and given the location prices were good. Service is average - depends on which staff are serving.

Next to Basilica in Gto. Centro
We happened upon this little cafe and it was delicious. The chilaquiles verde weren't too hot and the portions were huge. Mexican coffee was awesome. Very reasonably priced, too.

First floor taco bar with full bar and wine list. Second floor lounge and rooftop terrace with full menu, wine list and a wide selection of Mexican spirits and cocktails
We arrive to your right when they stopped serving food. This was unfortunate, because my friend ate there the night before, and said he had one of the best meals of his life. We decided to stay for some drinks, and Javier took very good care of us. The entire staff was extremely friendly to us, made us foreigners feel like we were at home. Also, their terrace has one of the best views of the city.

Had an amazing large shrimp cocktail. And. A liver of water for. Less than 129 pesos. It was delicious and made with love. There are many small restaurants specializing in meat, chicken, seafood , soups. And vegetable items. Additionally all sorts of vendors deal in prepared and raw foods, cooking materials, bulk supplies And home and business equipment. Some vendors sell visitor gifts and almost anything you can think of is here. Prices are excellent and dine even take credit cards

Hands down, Los Huacales serves some of the best food we've had in Mexico. This small, unpretentious restaurant is located above Plaza Baratillo, not far from the main plaza near Teatro Juarez. The chiles rellenos were delicious--well-seasoned with a variety of textures, and the black beans were flavorful. My husband had the pork mole with peanut sauce, and I raided his plate while he was watching the soccer game on tv. The meals were served with a smoking hot plate of fresh corn tortillas and a selection of well-flavored sauces. I had the leche flan for dessert and it was very good. I would recommend this place highly as one of the best places to eat in the city of Guanajuato.

Really good, creative food but the service was not on the same level. Cozy place but the waiter was neither friendly nor unfriendly- just there. A large mezcal list but as I am a novice it was a bit intimidating. The waiter brought a few bottles for us to inspect and the one we chose was passable but uninspired. We got the guacamole âburrachoâ which was attractively plated if a bit bland. The sherried mushrooms, tomato stuffed with corn, and corn jalapeño fritters, however, were lovely tapas. We also had the prawns which were nicely head in and plump, followed by the decent short rib tacos and my personal favorite, the Chile rellenos stuffed with pork, huitlacoche and a sweet ancho sauce on a bed of barley. For those of you expecting a traditional poblano pepper fried in egg batter you will be surprised and possibly put off, but I found this interpretation to be sublime. As best I can tell they rehydrate an anchor pepper and stuff that with a super tasty pork mixture and top the whole thing with a sweet ancho sauce. Desserts were tasty too- we had a Cajeta tart with lavender ice cream and the avocado sorbet with carmelized bananas! Wow! The service throughout was underwhelming but the food was super tasty.

Definitely well deserved top restraunt rating! Exceptional food. Extremely well prepared. Wonderful flavors. Delicious sauces and use of spices - high quality, fresh ingredients . We had great service from Pablo who speaks very good English. One of the culinary highlights of our trip to Mexico.

One of the best steaks in my life! I'm not a big steak fan but this experience got me understanding how great quality steak can make you fall in love with it. Excellent service made for a fun night and great experience. Went with the family and left all full and happy. Highly recommend going hungry and reserving in advance. Even if thereâs a wait, itâs so worth the it. Plus, love how they kept this cozy and homey atmosphere. As good as it gets at the best steakhouses anywhere in the world and maybe better - and itâs VERY reasonably priced!
