I am a regular tourist-customer of this Peruvian restaurant since three years when I wrote my first review in TripAdvisor. So far, this restaurant, for my personal taste, is still one of the best ones in Urubamba in terms of price-quality. Carlos and his wife Youanna are the owners and the cooks of this small family restaurant, which is very centrally located in Urubamba and easy to find. Closed on Wednesdays.

Wayra means wind in Quechua, the language of our Valley. Now, it also means a unique space where nature, art, gastronomy, adventure and good living blend together.
We lunched there as part of a day tour with Condor, to eat and to watch the horse show. We were given a set menu, which was reasonably tasty and very plentiful. We each had a mint tea, a still water, and a glass of chardonnay. I had understood from our guide that these drinks were included in the lunch. We were given a bill for 106 soles (roughly $54 AUS or US$33). In Australian dollars, the water cost $4 each and the wine (no wine list, no choice) cost $22.50 each. Even in US$ that's steep. Take your own water and avoid wine by the glass.Dear guest,Thank you for giving us a try.Your opinion is valuable to us and helps us shape everything that we doPlease visit us again.Kind regards,Claudia CarrilloWayra - Relais & Chateaux

Comida peruana, tradicional, fusion, vegetariana. Bar completo, mesas altas con balcones y vista a la plaza.
Well, there are not a ton of fancier restaurants to dine at in Urubamba. This was recommended by our concierge. it was pretty good. The decor could use some work. I had âcuyâ several times in Peru, and this was the best one of all the various interpretations I tried. It came with this quinoa dish that was way too spicy for me, but my husband loved it. They had this excellent yucca flour cracker with the bread service that I never saw any place else but here in Peru. It came with some amazing herbed butter. The service was terrific. Reasonable prices.

Our guide Hugo recommended us, right after we checked into San Agustin Urumbamba hotel we asked the receptionist to book a 8pm slot for us, using Google map, we were able to find this âhidden gemâ in a dark alley, we ordered the trout carpaccio, the quinoa soup, and the Alpaca Lasagne, all 3 dishes were excellent and the Peruvian red wine was great. The server (sheâs Russian-Israel-Canadian) was cheerful and make our evening memorable, we forgot to ask her name, I wanted to say thank you to you and your team, excellente !

How surprised our group was to travel up a long, tree-lined, unpaved driveway to finally come to this lovely hacienda tucked into the side of a hill. The gardens are lovely and our buffet lunch was excellent. They were so many choices. After lunch, we rode down the driveway again and were treated to an extraordinary Paso horse show. This place is fabulous!

After travelling all night from the USA and coming directly from the airport, our guide took us to Merienda for a quick lunch stop. We are very glad this was the location selected. We only wish we had taken more time to sit and order. We were very hungry so we quickly ordered some empanadas and some fresh juice they have and they hit the spot.
