Spent a glorious evening at Songbird Live in Cleburne Texas enjoying the music of Rene Ozuna and Friends! What a fabulous group of entertainers/musicians! I hope they come back here soon. More people in Cleburne need to learn about this great downtown entertainment venue.

From the moment you step out of the elevator that leads to our basement jazz lounge, you’ll be transported into a timeless atmosphere with the sounds of live jazz emanating throughout the room from our center stage with a painting from renowned artist Eric Waugh behind our bar. While live jazz music is the focal point of our lounge, with our upscale service and drinks, there's something for everyo
Friends surprised us with tickets to this club which we had never heard of. Living in Bluffton, we often visit "The Jazz Corner" on Hilton Head, one of the country's best venues for jazz content and sound. Having said that Parker's is every bit as good...with way better chairs. The room at Parkers is acoustically perfect for the music. All of the seats face the stage and the chairs are extremely comfortable. We sat through 2 sets and were totally relaxed. No fidgeting around to stay comfortable. The performers were superb and the club's owner (Kris Kimura) a very friendly, talkative and talented musician. They have a full bar with reasonably priced beverages and a very limited "snack" menu. Perfectly located in downtown Austin just below the Capitol Grille on 4th Street. Can't wait to visit again next time we are in Austin.

Esquire Jazz Club offers exquisite music, cocktails, wine, and beer in the historical restored Woolworth Building in downtown Amarillo. The club has a legal theme, as the building previously housed a federal courthouse in Amarillo for 25 years. Original witness stand, courthouse benches, judge's bench, law library bookshelves, are incorporated into the decor. Bar top designed by local artist.

Located in the heart of New Braunfels, this dimly-lit, underground sanctuary is a place where the casual and the professional cocktail connoisseur come to unwind. Every drink is mixed with fresh seasonal ingredients and classic spirits. In order to maintain social distancing standards we are encouraging reservations. Please visit our website to save your seat!

Scat Jazz Lounge is a unique experience right from walking down an alley towards the neon sign to sitting in the cozy dimly lit lounge and checking the wine and cocktail list. I ended a first date by bringing her here, since we both enjoyed Jazz but had never visited Scat Jazz Lounge before. The Dona Paula Malbec was quite tasty and the young lady who took care of us made good suggestions and had a great personality. But as for the music... The Mississippi Bastard Project jammed from about 9pm until 1 or 2 in the morning. They were wonderful and really got the crown going (on weekends you may want to get there a bit early if you want a seat). Plus, it was the first time I had seen a sousaphone in person being played! I'm actually going back just a few days later because the experience was so good! I highly recommend swinging by Scat Jazz Lounge. They have live music six nights a week, and are closed on Mondays.

If jazz is your music - it is mine - JAZZ TX is everything you and I would have and do if we were to open a jazz venue! Even if you are interested in just sampling some jazz, JAZZ TX dispels every stereotype of a jazz club you might have. No doubt it's thanks to the owner being a musician. Yes, as advertised it is a basement room. But not your Hollywood stereotype dark and smoky dive bar with tiny cocktail tables barely big enough to hold a candle. This room is bright and gives you the feeling of being spacious yet intimate at the same time. Every table has a good sight line to the stage. The bar is on the side, separated just far enough from the stage to avoid, for those of us looking to enjoy the music, distraction from the constant activity behind the bar. Speaking of distractions, our server was not just friendly and efficient. I took note of how she and the other servers were very unobtrusive in their service while the music was being played. That brings us to the food. One stereotype that sadly is too often true is that in many jazz clubs the food is arguably an after thought or at best a limited selection of bar food. Not here. We ordered from the dinner menu and found the food to be "restaurant good". Now all of this being said, it's just to give you the setting for the reason we came to JAZZ TX, the music. They feature two groups every night. We made our reservation to overlap the early and main sets. Because we were there on a weeknight, there was just a single cover charge. As I said at the start, I am a jazz lover and when I travel I love it when I get the opportunity to hear musicians from that city/region whom I wouldn't hear at home. JAZZ TX showcases Texas based musicians like trumpeter Chris Calderon whose band played original tunes. For me, whenever I now think of San Antonio, it's "Remember JAZZ TX!"
