Find out what Japanese restaurants to try in Yokohama. Yokohama is easily accessible from Tokyo, but there’s enough to see and do here that it’s worth more than a day trip. Visit Minato Marai 21, a popular, modern neighborhood with great shopping and tons of restaurant options. TripAdvisor travelers also recommend stopping at Big Wharf (Osanbashi Pier), a uniquely shaped pier with spectacular views.

A dedication to the dashi stock unique to Japanese cuisine. Variegated tableware carefully matched to the season. These are the touches of chefs whose first concern is that every customer finds their meal delicious. Enjoy traditional kaiseki cuisine utili
Our Japanese friends hosted us lunch and she secured us a window table. When we got to our table, we couldn't help but look out in awe. No one has a better view than this restaurant in Yokohama. We had the set menu and it was beautifully presented and it was good. The service was outstanding. What a beautiful place to end my holiday in Japan.

Tonkatsu is like a thick piece of Pork Schnitzel. Breaded and deep fried it is served crispy and delicious. Tonkatsu Wako is a chain restaurant in Japan and there are several locations in the area. This one was in the Yokohama train station, but there is also one over in the Queens Towers in Minato Mirai area. They are consistent in serving good food. The Tonkatsu is a juicy piece of all white meat...there wasn't any dark meat or fat going through the serving. Raw Cabbage is refilled whenever you need more...the serving that came with my plate was ample for me. My companion ordered a regular tonkatsu and a cheese filled one but said the regular one had the best flavor. The great thing about this restaurant is the Tonkatsu is served plain....no funky sauces over it. So, all you need to like is breaded pork to like it. Any sauces you add are on the side which makes it a good fit for those who like Japanese food and those who don't.

Found this restaurant via Tripadvisor itself by sorting the best restaurant serving Japanese food at a reasonable price in Yokohama. Ikkaku came out top and all the good reviews were in Japanese. The shop is quite difficult to find as it is located on 6th floor of a building near Yokohama station. I am the only foreigner visiting the shop and fortunately the staff able to speak basic English. All the menu were in Japanese and I know people come here for their chicken dish. Do expect to wait around 20 minutes for them to prepare the roast chicken. The meal is worth waiting. The roast chicken here is excellent. The meat were so tender and flavourful. Although a bit oily, but the taste were so good and melts in your mouth. Slightly spicy and salty which goes well with rice. If you prefer to have it with beer, it is well recommended. The chicken thigh price at 890 Yen. I add rice, soup and pickles at 400 Yen.For more info kindly visit my blog:http://tummyfull.blogspot.com/2015/03/best-roast-chicken-of-ikkaku-yokohama.html

Ippudo, our ramen restaurant, was first established in 1985 in Hakata, Fukuoka. Currently in 2017, we have over 100 stores throughout Japan. In 1990, our founder, Shigemi Kawahara, entered the Hall of Fame for winning the the ramen competition of the show
Couldn't believed there is such a great and delicious ramen near Yokohama Bay Hotel. Prices are very reasonable at only ¥1020 and the customer services is good too. Waiter immediately passed me an English menu when he saw me having difficulty reading the Japanese menu.

I was treated to this restaurant by a relative while visiting Yokohama. It is perfectly lovely. We had a private room, with a charming server/hostess/cook who appeared to be dedicated to us alone. The room was serenely Japanese, quiet and comfortable, but with a western-style table and chairs (there were rooms with Japanese-style seating as well, but my relative knew I would be much more comfortable in a chair). The meal included a beverage; I chose a good Japanese beer given the very hot weather. Our server brought the first two courses, which were various selections of beef and vegetables, then brought in the hot plate and began the preparation of our sukiyaki course. The beef just melts in your mouth. The broth was delicious, as were the vegetables cooked in it. It was too much food for me, but it was all so good. It was followed by udon, cooked in the same pan in the drippings, and finished with slices of watermelon. Everything was beautifully presented on a variety of attractive dishes. It was a wonderful experience.

THE GOOD:amazing sushiwide varietyso tastyTHE NOT SO GOOD:You will probably have to wait outside to get a tableThis place was an absolute treat, I wish I could have eaten much more than I did. The flavours and quality is just not comparable with outside of Japan. What is also nice is that wide variety of dishes that you may or may not recognise. I was taking dishes off the conveyor belt that I had no idea what it was but it just looked very tasty and it was very tasty. There is a reason why you have to wait for this place, it is because it is pure quality and worth a visit.

It is a busy place very popular with locals for Katsu. We had a good meal here with the help of our local guide who helped us to order. The ambience is great and the place extremely clean and one can also see the chefs cooking behind the glass
