The fish was super good and fresh despite the cheap price. For me it was the first time trying kaiten sushi, it was not so clear in the beginning how it worked, but we figured out after a while; the other difficulty is that they don't have English menu.

I was there last year and I ate the best crab ever. So cool atmosphere and great pics from Sumo owner. One of the best meal of my life.

The 7 different kinds of sashimi (fresh fish) set is good and presentable. But the fish soup pot is just good for looking than taste. As the soup is cooked on table, while it boiled I want to make the fire smaller but instead I turn it off. The staff comes at once for help while I press the bell. They are quite helpful (they give me English menu once they find I can't read the Japanese one). The restaurant is a chained one so foods are average (not bad and no surprised).

A family member took us here while we were visiting him in Tottori. So glad he did. Some of the freshest and best value sushi you can imagine. Very easy to handle for English speakers as well as the plates relate to yen amounts that are clearly labeled. Plus, you can always point to the menu and order whatever you fancy that isn't coming by on the conveyor. If you like authentic, fresh sushi, this place is a no-brainer. Be willing to wait up to an hour at dinner time for a place, though.

Drive-in restaurant Sakyu Kaikan is a big and the most useful drive-in for the sightseeing of the national park, Sakyu Kaikan. The drive-in has a store for specialties of Tottori and a restaurant with tatami room for local cuisine, and you can enjoy food
I stopped by Tottori Sand Dunes for a view and went for lunch here. The restaurant works in a shokudo style; pay for your meal at the entrance and take a seat, staff will ask for your receipt and prepare your meal.Since crab and prawns are the local treats I ordered the kaisendon, 1800 yen for a decent sized bowl with assorted marine products and rice. Considering the large room and probably a high throughput of customers throughout the day, the taste was good. Tip: don't pour in all the soysauce as this might make the dish too salty to your taste.Besides the kaisendon there are some non fish dishes too.

The Kaisendonya is close to the train station and not difficult to find. The menu is varied but includes a lot of fish as that is a local speciality. Everything is in Japanese and you order through an iPad but our waitress was wonderfully helpful. She showed us how to order, gave us a printed menu for help, and watched carefully for food allergies telling us what to avoid. The food was okay - not great and not bad - but the waitress made it all worthwhile.

We ordered two seafood don and each of them had at least 10 types of seafood. They were all very fresh and seasonal! and they offered a seasonal oyster as well called "å¤è¼" (means shinning in summer), which was only available during June to August. The oyster was super yummy and rich!

A shop in Tottori's "Shabu Shabu Origin" opened in 1962. Local cuisine from Tottori can be enjoyed. Please spend important time relaxedly in a stylish and retro space.
Our group of 13 had the best shabu-shabu dinner experience (Japanese steamboat) in this restaurant. Using local vegetables, the soup stock delicious and the main ingredient, Tottori wagyu is the best (was awarded first prize at the first contest of Japanese beef) Its amazing taste so soft to eat. The chef gave brief explanation about the history of the place including how the nabe originated after the person brought back hot cooking pot used by local chinese (during the war using lamb meat) and brought to Tottori and instead substituted beef and continued to this date. Restaurant can be accessed from Tottori station walking past Shotengai (covered shopping street about 5 minutes walk) Was seated in the first floor, wooden table and chairs a bit small but very sturdy. Our dinner accompanied by different Tottori made Japanese rice wine to complement the food. A participant in our tour is vegetarian and also able to enjoy the food without the meat.
