You can buy the Yanagawa and Dazaifu package with meal from Nishtetsu Station. With the meal coupon, you may choose one of the participating restaurants to have your lunch. Wakamatsuya is one of the participating restaurants. Judging by the queue, I think Wakamatsuya is certainly attracting both local and foreign visitors. You must be prepared to wait. At the end of the day, it is really worth the wait as the unagi rice is one of the best I have ever tasted. It was steamed in a wooden box with a fragrant sauce. Well. You have not come to Yanagawa if you have not tasted it.

We came into this place by accident and we were so happy that we did. It proved to be an enlightening and pleasurable dining experience. There was definitely a language barrier but we figure it out together with helpful suggestions from the staff and our smartphones. We enjoyed various Chicken, Liver and Mushroom Yakitori, Tamago omelette (best in Japan) and delicious Karaage (fried Chicken). Everything was very reasonably priced and we look forward to returning. The staff was so kind to us, we will never forget their smiles, patience, and loving dispositions. Thank you!
