We looked at Trip Advisor reviews to find somewhere to go on Kume. This place looked good and was even better! Staff was super, super nice!! Sashimi was AMAZING and so were"mini" tacos and Goya Gyoza! Tempura chicken was peppery and very good! Cold beer and a fun time!!

Parlour Three Peace adjacent to the Kume Island Resort was the only restaurant we got to check out other than the hotelâs. Few varieties of Kumejima soba was their specialty being served with miso or seaweed. It was a nice open air spot on picnic benches.

Visited Umibozu for dinner on our 3rd night out of 4.After eating at Kameyoshi and Namiji, we thought it was on par. Each restaurant has its characteristics but so far Umibozu, Kameyoshi and Namiji can all be recommended.

I came here for lunch as it was recommended by my Airbnb host. I chose the pork rice bowl. It was delicious. The miso/vegetable soup accompanying it was the best Iâve ever had. The servers were friendly and they had an English menu. The setting is very Japanese. So if you want authentic Japanese food, this is the place to go.

We visited on our last night after visiting Kameyoshi, Namiji and Umibozu.We expected it to be of better quality due to its high ranking.Personally, I liked the other three restaurants.Not recommended for couples as their portion is huge and can't try various dishes.I think the popularity of this place derives from quantity over quality.I'd say it is okay but would recommend the other three mentioned above if you are only staying for a couple of nights. Average.

This was my second visit to Kumejima Island and, thankfully, I was able to dine here again. The soba is "da bomb"! Literally, it is the best soba I've ever eaten. The owner, Nakasone san, remembered me from my last visit a year ago. The restaurant is only open for lunch, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm and is very busy. Unless you arrive early, like we did, expect to wait until seating becomes available. Trust me, the wait will be well worth it. Long story short, lunch as Yanguwa is a must when visiting Kumejima Island!!!
