Tongue de Boracho is a new modern style Japanese pub restaurant in Kitami city that is great for late evening drinks and food and is quite popular with the younger crowd that enjoy small dining items and wine served by the glass. The menu offers a good selection of inexpensive food items that are all very well presented. The most popular items include an assortment of barbecued foods including beef tongue and Japanese wagyu steak. For those that are out at night for a glass of wine there is an assortment of cheese and other light foods that go well wine.Wine: There is a good selection of wine on the menu but if you call ahead of time it may be possible to negotiate bringing your own bottle. I was charged a corkage fee of 1,500 yen to bring my own bottle. A very reasonable charge and quite surprising considering that this establishment is a bar!
In 14 days trip, we had many times to dine in Ramen house... many are good, but this one is the best! We had Ramen in Osaka city, a famous chain restaurant, but the taste is ok, the meat was so small , the ramen was small as well.In Hakodate , we had a pretty good one, but this one is the best Ramen restaurant in our trip. Some taste too strong, most of them the meat was just one piece! Ramen here taste is just good, not too strong, they have 4 pieces big and thick and fresh meat in the bowl! Price is good as well! The shop is a bit small, better avoid rush hour.

Brought here by driver, salted noodles and scallop are supposed to be the local specialty.A little western influence, sweet onions n mushrooms in fried noodles. Deer meat hamburger also tasty.

The sushi were exquisite, using the finest ingredients. Though no English menu was available, the kind chef was patient to explain to us the menu spread. The menu was simple as well. We went for nigiri and sashimi. It costs less than 5000 yen for this fine sushi. Will definitely be back to visit again.

Toriton has expended from its base in Kitami to various cities including Asahikawa, Sapporo, and Tokyo. I have had sushi at various locations and found solid consistency and excellence in service. Toriton at its home in Kitami is usually packed solid with lines extending outside, especially during holidays. The restaurant gives you a radio beeper that you can take to your car that will ring whenever it is your turn to be seated.I have had sushi at the various Toriton restaurants over the past 20 years at least 50 times and stand solidly behind them. They are committed to quality sushi at prices that everyone can afford. There are daily and seasonal specials (see the phones) as well regular changes to the menu. The menu includes classic sushi but also some unique experiments that sometimes are interesting. This sushi restaurant strives to serve families and this is why you will find on the menu various desserts for children as well as ice cream on a cone that you can order whenever paying your bill as you leave.I have a very wide extensive dining experience in Japan and overall in terms of cost performance would say that Toriton is in my top 10.
