If you are a surfer or loved to play golf around Chiba Area then Genji Shokudo is what I recommend for a real local lunch mealIt is located one minute away from Ohara Station. This place is also a meat butchery that sells chiba grown pork. The must have is the pork Katsu. The place is quite well known amongst the local neighborhood people and local tourist. I am not sure if they are foreign friendly. But you don’t need to be fluent to order a meal just be respectful when using your finger to point and have plain common sense.

Good food, dedicated owner and not too expensive. No wonder this place is full all the time. You need a reservation for weekends core dinner time. You can avoid the busy time and try weekdays. Some customers smoke but I guess the place has a good ventilation, it is not so bad. I always bring my kids. They give you free drinks to kids under 6. That's nice. But you still have to control your kids. This is not a family restaurant. The salad with fried chicken was too salty for me, I would order the salad with dressing aside next time. All the waiters were not so sharp minded. You have to ask for your glass of water. You have to raise your voice, wait and stare at the waiters to come get your orders. They never smile so I feel unwelcome. But I am guessing that it is simply Chiba style. I should not take it personal. Otherwise this is a place to go when you feel like Yakitori.

優しいおかみさんのいるアットホームなお店です。煮物やアジフライなど、何を食べても美味しいです。特に海鮮丼はこれでもかというほど魚介が乗っていて味・ボリュームともに満点でした。

大原方面に用事があった際、利用しました。漁港の近くですが、周辺は民家が多く、その中にポツンと店構えしています。ランチ利用でしたが、他のお客さんは４名、寿司屋特有の活気はほとんどなく、静かな空気が流れている感じでした。基本お任せのようで、地魚を中心に焼き物、椀物、にぎり等でした。握りはあかめ（フグ）や地のカサゴ等、他では食べれない白身中心で、なかなか良かったです。洗練された寿司というよりは街中の普段使いのお寿司屋さんといった感じです。

Next to fish shop izakaya restaurant .You can have very fresh tasty sashimi set in 1500 yen. Every stuff are kind and filled with hospitality.隣接する魚屋さんが経営する、定食居酒屋さんです。他店よりもお安く新鮮な地魚が食べられます。お刺身セットは刺身五点盛り(2切れ)ずつ、伊勢海老出汁の味噌汁がついており、大変美味しいです。他の定食もほぼ1500円以内でいただけます。

2時ごろ訪問しました。ランチタイムを過ぎてしまっていましたが、営業していました。客席はすべて個室です。メニューは壁に貼ってあり、煮魚の定食と迷いましたが、2色づけ丼「金目とサーモン」「金目とまぐろ」を注文。いずれも1280円 大変リーズナブルです。ご飯の上に青のりがかかり、これが味のアクセントになってます。その上に2種類のづけが乗ってます。金目のづけの下は錦糸卵も入ってます。づけはご飯が見えないくらいたっぷり乗っていて、サーモンはハラミの炙りで香ばしい香りも良かったです。でも、私はやっぱりマグロの方が好きです。糸こんにゃくの煮物と香の物、大きなお椀にたっぷりの玉ねぎの御味噌汁が付きました。ちょっと残念だったのは、水の入ったコップが、少々匂いがあったこと。家族経営の地元の魚介類専門の定食屋さん、機会があれば、金目の煮つけ定食にトライしたいです。帰り際、年配の男性に引き戸を開けていただき、「ありがとうございました、お気をつけて」と送っていただきました。駐車場は店舗脇から入って5台くらい入りそうです。

大原漁港にある飲食店で、お土産物屋も併設しています。壁には芸能人のサインがたくさん。人気店なんですね。生きた伊勢海老なども買って帰れるお店です。
