Find out what Japanese restaurants to try in Himeji. One of the best preserved and most architecturally demonstrative, Himeji's 400-year-old castle is so exquisite that it alone is worth a trip to the city. The castle is close to the train station, so it makes an ideal short stop on a day trip to several sights.

It is a Japanese restaurant where you can eat delicious Japanese fresh fish. There are abundant sake in Japan in the shop! Some dishes can only be eaten here. It is a 10-minute walk from the shop to the World Heritage Himeji Castle. It is the best shop fo
The kaseiki set menu I had in Fukutei was delicious. I had never eaten tempura eel before, and I was surprised. Also other dishes (sushi and sashimi) looked great. The set menus are very colourful and mine was definitely tasty! Free tea provided and refilled a couple of times!

This restaurant disguises itself as one of the regular, subtle local Okinomiyaki outlet. But it actually is a fine Teppanyaki restaurant locals love. Once inside, me and my wife were astonished with wide selection of fine ingredients in season, beginning Oden pot next to the plate, fillet patty cooking on plate, pot stews others are picking. This restaurant offer all the things good to eat and drink! English menu only lists basic dishes they serve. The best dishes are listed on the wall behind the chef in Japanese. What you do? Order drink and just point at dished someone else is eating or being cooked at the main plate. We were lucky to sit in front of the hot plate and the chef, an old lady who manages every details. We literally pointed to dishes the chef was cooking as they all appear very tasty, and they all are. You make no mistake here but mind yourself the price is right and you will spend more time here than you will imagine.

We had lunch here twice on our stay in Himeji and both times the food was tasty and reasonably priced. They have an English menu and the lady who served us went out of her way to be helpful even though she was super busy serving over two levels. Looking for a warm, tasty and filling lunch in Himeji, this is the place for you.Thank you for coming. I am pleased that you praise me, please visit again.
The reason why I wanted to open this restaurant is that I would love people to try the best flavor of the Kobe Beef without any hesitation. It has been told that Kobe Beef is very expensive and people sometimes feel self-consious about trying some because
What a great little spot!!!We came here mid day between visit g the castle and going to the garden. Itâs was perfect because they stayed open thru the middle of the day and didnât close for that weird mid day break. The food was delicious and even my Aunt who is allergic to soy and pretty much has had a super hard time eating any place in all of Japan even cleaned her plate and was super happy!!!Totally yummy and a great spot to stop.Iâm always afraid of places right next to the historic tourist stops but this one was a winner !!!!

Found this top rated place while going to Himeji Castle. Located at the basement food court across the train station. Queued up to buy a ticket and another line to collect food. Got the tako ball and savoury pancake. It is quite average in taste but an adventure to try as this is really a local joint

I am traveling in Himeji and checking the reviews on TripAdvisor and other Japanese local food reviews site. Totoro seems to be recommended on various places. It took me a while to find it as the google map has not been reliable. I walked almost 2 loops near the station area before I located it.I finally arrived around 6:15 tonight and the wait was about 20 minutes. Not as bad as I thought it would be.The staff are efficient, they will take your order as soon as you sit at the waiting area. Thereâs English menu and I would say the selection is not huge but sufficient for a lot of people. I was asking for ç½å, however they donât have it. They also ran out of æµ·è½ Uni too. Slightly disappointed but still happy with my order. I had yellowtail, toro, crab roe, flounder, crab, Congo eel. I love them all but I would highly recommend the toro (fatty tuna) for sure! Price is reasonable, itâs a must try if you are in Himeji! I finished the whole meal (9 pieces of sushi) within 15 minute. I will definitely come here again!

Gassai is not going to win any Michelin stars. I've rated it excellent because it executes what it is aiming for very well. Good Izakaya style food and drink at reasonable prices. Unlike a lot of similar places in Japan, it has an English menu. They cater to tourists without wrecking the local atmosphere. Perhaps the reason it keeps its atmosphere is because it is on the "wrong" side of the tracks - the far side of the rails station from the castle - and has no external ignage in English.Cut through the train station. Gassai is only a minute or two past the Nikko Hotel. Look for the lanterns outside. (Check the TA photos or look at Google street view.)

This little shop located between Himeji castle and Train station. Its on the main street though instead on the side street which is usually where the good restaurant at. Best Udon I ever had, the bowel is so good just eat it plain with a bit of their light sauce. Good way to start or end your day trip to Himeji castle.

We walked less than 5 minutes from the Daiwa Roynet Hotel, to enjoy our evening at Koba&More.Turning left from the front door of the hotel, and then immediately turning left, you will find Koba&More also on the left. The front entrance is very distinct, you wonât miss it.Sliding the door open, you will find 6 chairs up, at a long wood bar. The food is prepared right across from you in the kitchen while you sit and enjoy your beverage. We had a beer and sake. Food was great, we enjoyed Japanese salad, wontons, and Gyoza. . Very fun, friendly, and owner very personable. Restaurant was open from 6pm until 9pm on a Sunday when we went. It was a special experience and it really made our time in Himeji memorable.
