While driving the back roads of Hunterdon County we recently came across the Stanton General Store which is a really nice Deli/Restaurant that offers a great menu selection of sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, traditional & gourmet pizzas, and ice cream. You canât miss this place; itâs the only one around.

We've been going here for years. We usually take our pizza to go, but it's nice eating in also. This is a great family-run business who we love. Generous toppings and excellent calzones. Try the garlic knots too! The only downside is that their pizza is so good, sometimes we have to wait a little longer!

Four of us enjoyed our dinner on a weekday evening. BYOB with liquor store right next door. We had very nice wine. Service was attentive and friendly. Soups were prepared well and nice portions. The backed brie appetizer was excellent. Pork shank osso buco was tender and very generous. Veal parmisan was prepared and cooked perfectly with a slight side of spaghetti. Bread was very good. Eggplant main course was diverse and tasty. Seafood over linguine was fresh and simple. Deserts looked interesting but we did not indulge. The restaurant is not heavily lit so use the large Bourbon Street liquor store as your guide.
We stopped for a quick bite, not expecting much, but we were delighted by our discovery of Mangiabella Pizza. There was plenty of choices -- grilled chicken and brocolli was my pick -- and the kids gave it two thumbs up. Inexpensive. The dinner menu looked good, but I'll have to try that next time. All I can say is you will definitely love the pizza.

2 years ago I gave it 4 stars. Used to always be packed to the max, but only half the restaurant was occupied this trip. The service is good. The food was ok this time. Plus, my friend ordered grilled chicken for her salad...none came on hers in error. My mother's dish had a hair in it. Martini's were delish.

When our family declares it a pizza night this is our go to place. We always call and order for take out. It is always waiting hot and ready when we arrive. one time we accidentally put our order in for the place across the street and the cost was double what we normally pay! It wasn't even as good as Giovanni's. Never gonna make that mistake again!

My wife and I dined here last night to escape some of the boredom triggered by the snowstorm. We ordered a bruschetta to split and two personal pizzas - one a white pizza and the other a regular pie. The bruschetta was excellent and the pizza pies were so fresh and tasty. No complaints. Carried in a couple of beers in this BYOB restaurant and really enjoyed this place. The bill came to $21! Give it a try and support these small local establishments!

This was my first time here and went with a takeout order of two large (16â) plain cheese pizzas ($12/each) and calamari ($9). Billed as a family restaurant I has set my expectations high only to be disappointed. The calamari were rubbery and they did not include any marinara sauce. The pizza was cooked as requested, well done, but the dough was too thick and tasted like a dry cracker

My husband and I stopped by for dinner last night after recommendations from my daughter and son in law. We ordered the fried calamari appetizer.Came out piping hot andbso tasty and delicious. Not rubbery. (always a good test for us)! Salads were decently sized with variety of ingredients. I got the chicken francaise and my husband, the veal. Both could be cut with a fork! Not always true for veal. Portions were very generous and the sauce was so tasty and thick. Yummy for dipping the good Italian bread in!Our server, Melissa, was polite and attentive. She made sure our pasta was separate from the meat, as per our request.Francesco is authentically Sicilian. Eager to speak with us. When we told him we were both italian, he teased us about not being able to converse in italian.Overall, very good experience plus it'sBYOB! We will be returning.
Where to eat Asian food in Whitehouse Station: The Best Restaurants and Bars

We had read so many positive reviews about Carlucci's that we felt we had to try it. We wont return, there are just too many other really good Italian restaurants in the area that outshine the food, the service and the ambiance.FOOD: I decided that for a first time outting here, I'd try something that would really indicate just how good the food is: I ordered the sampler, which included a portion of lasagne, 2 meatballs, and some ravioli. The sauce was unremarkable. The Ravioli was cold in the center, I think it had been frozen, certainly not house made. The lasagne was equally bland. I had also ordered a ceasar salad, which consisted of some chopped romaine and grated parmesan which tasted like Kraft from the plastic jar. The dressing had no pizzazz, also clearly not house made. SERVICE: we were seated about 5 minutes before a waitress asked if any one had been by, we said 'no' and yet she kept walking. She returned a couple minutes later. That made no sense. My salad was delivered more than 5 minutes before my husband's soup. They kept telling us, "it's ready, it's coming" but the soup was clearly not ready and not coming. They should have held off on bringing me my salad til his soup was coming out. The woman who was clearly running the floor, kept standing over out table telling us, "the soup is made to order, it takes a while"... I find it hard to believe that they make each bowl of pasta fagioli individually. AMBIANCE: This is a bustling spot, and the tables are fairly close together. Our table seated 2, it was a tiny square table pushed against a corner, so my husband and I were both seated facing walls. It felt like a kindergartner's time out seat !! Seriously, the wall was about 18 inches in front of each of us... Again, there are so many excellent Italian restaurants in central NJ, there's just no need for us to go back here.
