Really really good Italian kitchen. We ate here several times, and most of the time I have the spinach filled canneloni, because it is soo good. For desert I strongly recommend the limoncello tiramisu . This is usually served as a rather heavy , square cake on a plate . Here it's all different and you won't recognise it as tiramisu, it is light and quite delicious.Still, I'm gonna deduct one star: this is often such a busy restaurant that they want to fill the tables as many times per day as possible. Hence, the food is served fast and therefor the meal is limited in time. Not very suitable for a relaxed, long time visit with friends.
In the cozy city center of Vlissingen you can find de IJswinckel. I always wished for more alternative and healthier options to eat out in Vlissingen and what I like the most about the store was that they have options for everyone - vegans, people with allergies, health-conscious people and in general everyone who loves eating ice cream. The store is minimalistically and tastefully designed and you feel very welcomed by the friendly staff. Ice cream recommendation: Oma's appeltaart!

I know the Italians don't eat Pizza or Pasta for main course... but the food they serve at La Vita Bella is delicious. We had one plate of sardines between 2 of us. The moment we walked in the door we saw that the portions were more than generous. Our sardines were nicely grilled and served in a bit of olive oil with garlic, peppers and spring onions, accompanied by some bread and garlic butter. We then had a salad (my wife) with prawns and beef, which was very tender and tasty. I had a spaghetti with prawns and salmon in a creamy gorgonzola sauce. A lovely dish. We had coffee's afterwards and my espresso was up to Italian standard, Excellent. The bottle of white Sicilian house wine we had was also excellent, much more flavour than most white house wines. The service was also prompt, polite, knowledgeable and charming. What more can you ask for???
Zeer hippe zaak met lekker Italiaans eten. Vriendelijke Nederlandse uitbaatster, maar er is nergens een Italiaan te bespeuren. Het is er erg rumoerig.

Ambiente is a wonderful place. I understand it was born as a restaurant but we also spent a night in the very special rooms it has on the first and second floor above the restaurant. Let's start from the food...delicious! We had a great dinner with tapas, a very well cooked pasta (I am Italian, I can say it!) and calamari. Kids had a special menu that they enjoyed particularly despite being usually quite picky. We also had the greatest of breakfast with a superb warm bread and a great variety of food. The rooms we stayed in for the night were spacious and clean and were furnished with a nice touch. The sight on the Harbor is amazing! When we asked for extra beds they produced them from nowhere and had them made in a blink of an eye. Great service. I highly recommend it.

First of all, I have to say Iâm a ârisotto snobâ. I stopped ordering risotto in restaurants a couple of years ago due to many disappointing experiences. A couple of weeks ago, somebody told me I should really try the risotto at Castafiore. It was fantastic!Obtaining a creamy, flowing consistency with the rice grains still visible is an art. Castafiore masters this art! Very tasty risotto, wonderful starters and heavenly tiramisu.Lovely, friendly athmosphere with top quality food and great wine.

Once again, very good pizza with a great Italian Pizzaiolo!!! But I still find their Pasta not good for an Italian Restaurant ( they should think about an Italian real cook, at least for Pasta) The service as usually amazing, we are happy to have now an Italian waiter that cheers us with a Buona Sera!!! The owners as well are great and hard workers!!!Nothing to complain about this nice place, but we hope to see them as one of the best Italian restaurant of the area, with some real Italian Pasta and risotto...
