This is a very nice restaurant right on the beach. At first sight it seems basic but when the food arrives you understand you have much more than basic. The menu is rather limited but with a good variation. Service is excellent and very professional. The quality/price balance goes to the side of quality and not price which is more than reasonable.

Like my title states, this restaurant didn't leave a lasting impression... well other than maybe what I ordered was the worst gnocchi I have ever tasted. Yikes I know! ... but the atmosphere is what drew us in, but disappointingly the menu was priced higher than most, and food didn't uphold the price point. The gnocchi I ordered was tiny, bland, and underwhelming in all regards. Something needs to be tweaked in that recipe. Cheese plate was good, and others I ate with enjoyed the fried seafood. Service was good I will add!

We were recommended this restaurant by the hotel and had heard some other guests mention it was good, we were seated on a nice table outside. Staff were friendly and the service was good, lots of nice choices on the menu and wellpriced, my husband commented that the steak dish he has was one of the nicest steaks he had had in a while. Definitely recommend!

Monday night, off season so not a lot open. But, read the reviews and decided to try. We booked although not necessary but clearly it was appreciated. Seated and looked at the menus. We had the Greek salad, followed by the ravioli with sea bass and the risotto with leeks and gorgonzola. And wine and water. Service was lovely throughout. As we were eating many people came in, clearly local. Pretty sure we were the only native English speakers around. Finished with vin santo. A really nice meal at a reasonable price.

This restaurant is really nice inside and not at all what we were expecting when driving into the entrance from the road. We had lunch here and found to food to be really well presented but some of it was a little bland. The portions were really generous though. We also ordered wine and had to ask for it again as it hadn't arrived by the time our starters arrived.Still worth a visit though!Parking is 3 euros FYI

this restaurant was recommended to us.I always go with an open mind as often, other reviews or peoples experiences are sometimes exaggerated.I can say that this was probably one of the most fabulous restaurants I have visited in Italy.The service first.... we were greeted so warmly both from the owner and from 'flora' our waitress and Me so full of kindness and knowledge. My Daughter and I felt complete cared for.We had an a,axing meal and one that was cooked to perfection, hand made in the kitchen by the original founder and owner.It was so very tasty and delicious!Wine list was excellent as were the recommendations for the wine. We asked for a wine that wasn't on the list and they found one, and at a very reasonable price.I truly can't recommend this high enough, value for money and such personable service, we felt like we were the only people there.Fantastic music too!Thank you, we will be back next year x

We were attracted by the good ratings. As a frequent traveller to Italy I shortly wondered about the casual place, but the menue told me that at this place there is decent knowledge of food an wine to be expected. And we were not disappointed. The proprietor, waiter and sommelier turned out to be a very pleasant person with deep passion for good food and even more good wine. Go for the degustation menue including wines. We started with a methode traditionell growing over 1000 m at mount Blanc and went through more special wine regions. The four course meal was very nicely composed and enjoyable until the dessert.

Tirrena is a sleepy, old-fashioned coastal town, yet our coincidental discovery of 231 made our stop-over there more than worthwhile. We had already tried steamed mussels in Brussels, US East and West coasts, the Hague, Palermo, Barcelona and a whole variety of other places taking pride in their seafood; yet none of them came close to the taste and freshness of Tirreno 231âs little bucket full of them. This was a true feast and we have enjoyed every piece of it. Fried calamari and shrimps platter that followed was equally outstanding. When we met the chef (and the owner), we knew all this was not by accident â a chef to have cooked for long years in New York, Rio de Janeiro, Brussels and other cities around the world and to have come back to enjoy his hometown. His lovely (Irish) wife is a further bonus for English speakers struggling with the Italian names of ingredients. Thank you both, for a seafood feast dinner to be remembered for years to comeâ¦
