Tagliacozzo is a beautiful town that we've stopped in several times on our way back from Abruzzo to Rome, but we'd not cracked lunch until now.The restaurant is on a beautifully quaint old street down by the river, a beautiful building in a beautiful spot.Lunch was simple, and tasty. Antipasta della Casa was mountain meats, and cheeses, with particularly beautiful piped ricotta with honey and walnut.Primi was perfectly cooked pasta - chitarra with baby tomatoes and speck. Washed down with house wine and a tiramisu to finish.Service was prompt and polite throughout.Recommended.

Complimenti allo staff.

First of Trip advisor's ranking for "restaurant" in tagliacozzo, we arrived there for lunch. The atmosphere is really familiar, it seems to be in a movie, everything is nice and warm, starting from the big fireplace, where you can see your meat while it is prepared. All the meals were very good, more than all the Polenta, served in a wood dish, with mushrooms and "cheese fonduta".The location is also good, it's in the center of Tagliacozzo, few meters far from Piazza del Collegio, the city center. The dining room it is actually a bit small,

Iâve been visiting Tagliacozzo for the last 15 years. Iâm a Chef by trade and run my own place in the UK. I lived and worked in Italy for 5 and a half years and Iâve headed brigades in high quality establishments in the UK and Italy including being Head Chef for the Chigi family at Castelfusano. The food in Tagliacozzo has always been seen simple, tasty, rustic and authentic. Giardino Resta is the first and only place Iâve found that lifts the level, technically, and manages to be modern and contemporary whilst keeping the authenticity.I am back in Tagliacozzo next week and I am looking forward to visiting this fantastic restaurant again.

Friends of mine invited my husband and I along for a large family Sunday lunch at this simple trattoria in Roccacerro. The place crowded quickly and had a meager, but very jolly, hardworking and accommodating staff. I would advise to make reservations and not to arrive late. Places like this keep ingredients fresh and have plenty of regulars so save yourself from disappointment and call ahead. The menu is full of typical "mountain" and abruzzese options. My personal favorite were all the starters "affetatti misti" with cold cuts, amazing pecorino cheese, fresh ricotta, a bean stew, a bean salad, bruschetta and delicious fresh breads. This is so filling that it's hard to continue to a first or second course. The steaks are simple, but cooked as you like and the patate al forno are sliver thin and mouthwateringly crispy. For dessert we sampled the fresh summer fruit and finished with a typical digestif liquor. Wonderful and happy meal. The chef even let me "steal" a bag of rare fagioli from Tagliacozzo. Delightful way to spend a Sunday. I hope to return.

Located just at the end of the square this is a nice family restaurant with great authentic food and friendly service. Have a drink in the square for an hour or so and watch the locals before the 8pm opening time at the restaurant.

In Magliano de' Marsi, nestled in the unspoilt Abruzzo countryside, on a green reserve where guests can admire deer, wild boar and foxes in their natural habitat, the agriturismo is a peaceful oasis, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the activities on off
This is an excellent place to have lunch or dinner. The local dishes including the Pezzepasta with Porcini mushrooms were very tasty and prepared perfectly. The various meat portions were huge and prepared to our tastes. The 5 children were happy with their pasta and meat dishes. The service was a bit slow, but very friendly. Prices are really acceptable, main dishes at 20 Euros. Don't forget to book, as sometimes, during weekends and holidays it may be full.
