Reviews on Italian food in Romford, England, United Kingdom. Romford is a large town in east London, and the administrative centre of the London Borough of Havering. It is located 14.1 miles (22.7 km) northeast of Charing Cross and is one of the major metropolitan centres identified in the London Plan. It was historically a market town in the county of Essex and formed the administrative centre of the liberty of Havering, until it was dissolved in 1892. Good road links and the opening of the railway station in 1839 were key to the development of the town and the economic history of Romford is underpinned by a shift from agriculture to light industry and then to retail and commerce. As part of the suburban growth of London in the 20th century, Romford significantly expanded and increased in population, becoming a municipal borough in 1937 and has formed part of Greater London since 1965. It now forms one of the largest commercial, retail, entertainment and leisure districts outside central London and has a developed night-time economy.

At Zizzi we like to do things a little differently. We donât do over-complicated recipes or scrimpy portion sizes. Weâre all about the well-chosen ingredients, simply put together to make exceptional Italian food.Found at the end of the high street of thi
The cooking and service are well mannered but hopeless. The pizzas were cooked for the same length of time as the Calzone so they tasted more like baked cardboard than pizza. Cheese on on then pizzas was cooked so long it became solid. Calzone tasted nice. There seems a serious disconnect between the food preparation and the actual serving of food. Food is left on the side unless prompted to serve it. Someone elseâs desert including ice cream was left on the side to basically melt.

After eating here every week for the last month itâs time I stopped keeping this to myself and honouring this restaurant.A family owned business run by Enzo & his wife and father Toni. Everything is home cooked with a substantial specials board that changes weekly. The food is truly superb and at its price point (£50 per person including wine) is quite simply better than everything else locally.Everything is good but highlights include the weekâs special steak, the weekâs special fish, any pasta dish and the fritto misto starter. The restaurant has a good Italian wine list but also keeps a good stop of âoff menuâ special wines at a very fair price. Also to kite is that all main courses come with the dinerâs choice of vegetables at no additional cost. We regularly have the deep fried zucchini with mix green vegetables and are never disappointed.I honestly canât give any restaurant any higher recommendation other than to say every time I visit here I book another table. Truly excellent.

Frankie & Bennyâs serves up the best of New York Italian cuisine to offer you big flavours and massive choice. Whether you fancy a juicy chicken burger or an Italian classic, weâve got something for everyone! Weâve been a much loved restaurant for over 20
I thought that there were some really nice options to choose from my only issue with the entire experience was that the food was just... alright. I didnât leave thinking it was amazing but maybe you wouldnât expect that from a F&Bâs. Everything else was great though with the service. Was seen to quickly & seated in a nice area.

We visited Zizzi on a Sunday for lunch, we ordered one starter two main (adults) and two kids menu.We receive the food in this order: starter and one kids menus, about 30 min later (after chasing) the other kids menu. When I complained the waitress said 'You can do whatever you want with it'. We got the mains, one more starter that we haven't ordered and finally, after chasing, the desserts.

At Bunno we enjoy making our pasta every day and roasting our carefully selected coffee beans. You can enjoy them at our restaurant or take it away with you
Old Street, Shoreditch, Southwark and Covent Garden all have pasta bars par excellence. Itâs surprising indeed to announce that Romford now joins that list in the shape of The Bunno in South Street which describes itself as âYour Local Coffee Roasters and Fresh Pasta Makersâ. Well one afternoon a few months ago I tried the coffee and a tiramisu in a plastic pot, so finding myself in Romford at lunchtime popped in to try the pasta. Although the rear is laid out as a restaurant, one must order and pay at the counter where there is a display of pizza slices, muffins and pastries. There are five or so types of pastas which come with a choice of topping. I opted instead for one of the three filled pastas of the day a tortellini filled by minced pork rib in a thick tomato sauce. Accompanied by a glass of Chianti this proved a deeply satisfying dish.

Rocco's food & bar is an Italian restaurant located in the Gidea Park Hotel. It is open to public and serves freshly hand made pasta with a selection of sauces typical of Liguria (Genoa), Emilia Romagna (Bologna) and Lazio (Rome) regions. The preparation
We came here on spec as we were passing by, the staff were extremely attentive especially to our 4 year old, offering to make us an off the menu items to please here (it wasn't needed), but we thought that was great. Two of us ordered of the Italian side of the menu, the gnocchi was really good! And the spag bol too apparently. I ordered steak, which was slightly over cooked but only slightly. It was also very very well priced too! I'd go back again to try the Italian food given my friends feedback on it.

This is a spacious and modern restaurant. Service is both friendly and intuitive. There is a great selection of food on offer including daily specials and set menus during the day. The building appears to accessible and there is seating at the front of the building. my fresh pizza was cooked to order and was filling. My starter of mushrooms in breadcrumbs was served in a small basket. Plenty of buses pass the restaurant and it is close to Romford Train Station. I'll definitely return.
