Had salmon pasta. Absolutely nothing added to give the meal any flavour. Pasta was overcooked. Pasta was not drained so that meant it was very cold smoked salmon on top of a cold flavourless pasta all in what I can only describe as a milk soup. Quite clear that everyone else who had pasta left the pasta itself as basically a full plate. Guy next door moaning it was 'froid'. Others seemed happy having other meals though. Did not even ask why nothing was eaten or if everything was ok. Would never go back

New in Rochefort, La Scala Italian family restaurant and contemporary, in the spirit of the beautiful Venetian houses, chic and colorful, never stilted, a place full of warmth of this country that inspires the dolce vita. On the ground floor three intimat
I completely agree with Hyperion24's review. We went to this restaurant for lunch on a February Saturday and it was like being transported back 20 years to when you could go into any restaurant in the country and get a well-cooked meal at a sensible price. After a week in over-priced and overrated La Rochelle restaurants it was a welcome change. Le chef-patron emerged from his kitchen to shake hands and accept compliments at the end of the meal and his wife looked after us very well front of house. The food was plentiful, freshly and expertly cooked to order. Very definitely worth the walk up the main street to find it.

Les meilleures pizzas de la région!A emporter.Pate maison croustillante, bonnes garnitures. Bonne humeur communicative !A recommander absolument!;)

A party of six, with a range of tastes. The welcome was warm (English spoken for those who need it). It's a small, interesting room (Venice is well on show). We chose widely: three different pizzas (including one made specially to order, thank you); two pasta; and one open vegetarian arrangement on a toasted ciabatta. The Valpolicella is to be recommended; the Charente white was very drinkable. The thin-based pizzas were each declared excellent. The carbonara sauce was thought to be lacking 'something' (not sure what, sorry); the pasta on the other was sticking together (cooking water not hot enough?). With bottled water, only one sweet and two coffees our bill was â¬105.It's a very popular diner, with a steady flow of customers, inside and out; plus take-aways. Overall, for us this would be a good lunchtime choice. Do try it for yourself, though.

We stumbled across this restaurant on a day trip to rochefort & it happened to be the birthday of one of our party. It was full of locals having lunch - a good sign. Service was fantastic friendly considering we had 4 kids with us. 3 of the adults had the 3 course lunch menu for 18 euros and it was simply delicious - a real highlight of our holiday!

Great location in the centre. Wonderful Tagliatelle. Let down by an average dessert. Food well presented and served.

Artisan pizza to stay or to take away. Hand made dough and fresh products only. Home made deserts assortments.
We came here last year when staying one night in Rochefort and this year decided to stay in Rochefort this year partly so we could return here!!Iâd messaged the owners on Facebook and when we walked in they knew who we were and welcomed us with open arms. How lovely to start with. The pizzas are absolutely first rate. We had some sort of special where the pizza was first rolled up and cut into slices, then baked and loads of the most delicious thin cut (air dried) ham was piled on top, along with Parmesan cheese shavings, rocket and a balsamic glaze. Completely unlike anything Iâve ever had before and just amazing! We then spent ages chatting to the owners and by the time we left (to more hugs and kisses) we felt as if we were part of the family. I just canât fault this place. Oh - there are only a few seats. But itâs generally a takeaway so probably or an issue for most.Just go - you definitely wonât be disappointed.
