This great cafe is located in a quaint little village in Casole di Elsa. The pasta dishes were so good and fresh that we had lunch there twice during the week we spent in Tuscany. I had the Tagliatelle Bolognese and my husband had the ravioli. The food was delicious and service was good. Great little spot - you can sit outside and observe all the activity in the village. Highly recommend.

Nice restaurant with stunning view from the terrace, typical tuscan dishes cooked with love, biological vegetable garden and products to taste
Our first night in Montiguidi so myself and my girlfriend thought we would give this place a try as it is walking distance from our villa! The menu was in Italian with no english translation however the waitress spoke very good english and was more than happy to help. I ended up ordering two fillet steaks cooked to how we like topped with green salad leaves and Parmigiano-Reggiano, I also ordered a side serving of deep fried vegetables and a glass of red wine. The steaks came out with no fries or sauces as I would normally expect in the UK. Literally just the steak on a plate that had been lightly seasoned. This was such a nice thing to see, it allows you to really get a flavour of the steak rather than it being masked by your standard peppercorn sauce. This steak was by far one of the best I've ever eaten, very well cooked to my liking (medium rare) and just falls apart in your mouth. The deep fried vegetables was also a first for me. They were very nice too, ill be attempting to make them when I get back home. We both liked the restaurant very much. Nice atmosphere and great service, ill definitely be eating here again before we leave!

Restaurant with typical Tuscan cuisine. Cozy and simple place like the old kitchens and places of the time. With breathtaking views showing the Tuscan hills just a few steps from fast-moving cities like Volterra, San Gimignano and the Chianti areas. The r
We had a fantastic meal here. The food was delicious and the service was very good. The owner and Chef were delightful. You won't go wrong here.

Best restaurant in old city of Tuscany with beautiful view in the valley. Specialized are: beef, fresh pasta and typical tuscan specialties.
Came here as staying in Belforte and read the reviews. It was great food and fantastic value, far better than La Pergola and Agurista in Radicondoli, will be going again.

Whilst staying in the area we visited this place three times and we had been in previous years.Eating outside in the lovely street is a wonderful setting and typically Italian. The owner is very welcoming but it is the food which makes visitors flock here .Nothing fancy just simple honest Tuscan cuisine at its best . Try zucchini, the pasta dishes and the wild boar stew. Puddings are great too. Good local wines .A must visit if in the area but be sure to book .Canât wait to return.

I don't think you'll find anything on the web - this is a locals' secret.
An excellent meal in a typical rural ristorante ,Tuscan style.........in countryside removed from city traffic. Many local people (many in family groups) at the restaurant enjoying a meal (which was essentially a limited choice to what had been prepared for the day) . To begin, a 2 L bottle of wine for the four of us .The antipasto was a very good selection of different cheeses, salami and other meats. Then a choice of two pasta dishes; lasagna or spaghetti (with a splendid slightly piquante meat sauce), followed by a selection of at least 5 different meats on a platter. Finally, dessert, coffee and limoncello. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon in a lovely location.

Our dear friends, leaving for Australia, chose the Nazionale, a family run restaurant to have lunch. The friendly service and quality home cooked food was excellent. They also cater for vegetarians so I chose a fuori menu (special of the day) Pasta e Cecci, my wife had the Bocconcini di Vitello and our friends enjoyed the Tasca di vitello ripiena con spinaci, being rolled stuffed veal with spinach and grilled zucchini and portions of delicious home cut patate fritte. All accompanied by local white wine. Desserts were naughty particularly the Affogato dark chocolate truffle ice cream drowned with hot coffee. We sat outside on their terrace as it was warm today, but they also have a spacious dining room. Great pizzas available in the evening. This enjoyable celebration lunch was reasonably priced at â¬23 each included cover, aperitifs, bread and sparkling water

I cannot recommend this place apart from the wonderful views. You need to book to get on the pergola but they really pack everyone in so you can hear others conversations. The service was ok and the food distinctly average. This is a tourist place but if you want really good Tuscan cuisine look elsewhere.

Welcome to "Il Colombaio" a small, hidden portion of paradise in Tuscany where you can still breathe the air of home, of good and true things, of deep attachment to the land and its values. Our intent is to make our guests feel good and to make us remembe
We found Il Colombaio on the internet when searching for restaurants that have a Michelin star. We drove almost one hour to have a romantic dinner there for our ten year anniversary. If you don't visit this restaurant while in Tuscany, you're missing the best service, meal and ambience you can get. Chef Maurizio Bardotti was creative and the food had great depth and layers of flavors. Andria, our waiter, was so attentive and made us feel at home. This was the best meal we had in Italy and we had many. No complaints other than that we would love to take Maurizio and Andria back to California with us. Ten stars!!!!!
