Had an enjoyable meal here the other evening and the restaurant was nearly full on a Tuesday evening which shows that the food must be good. The restaurant itself is somewhat dreary and lacks atmosphere and the decor needs some updating but the menu is extensive from pizzas all the way up to several dishes proposed with truffles when they are available in season. The pasta is cooked al dente and all the food we were served was good to very good. Will definitely return and incidentally during the summer months there is a nice terrace enabling one to eat outside. Service was OK and there is a decent wine list but the emphasis here is on the food and not the way the restaurant looks and the decor / atmosphere. There are not many better Italian restaurants in the vicinity to the best of my knowledge.!!

This restaurant offers good quality Italian food at a reasonable price point. Certainly not cheap, good value for money. Food was good and is straightforward. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, although not special. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Basically an Italian deli, there's only take-out here (no seating). More than 20 Italian cheeses, numerous hams and salamis and a great selection of antipasti. They have a hot kitchen section too with the BEST thick-crust pizzas ever, roast chicken, and daily specials. There's a food specialty shop with unusual pastas, sauces, coffee and dry goods. One thing I appreciate most about this place in addition to the food and reasonable prices is the invariably friendly banter of the servers who are always patient to explain what's special about this or that item. Avoid going too close to lunch hour, when the place tends to be very crowded by students from the nearby school and business people. There are several pleasant places nearby where you can sit and eat your lunch: the Mont-Repos park for one.

Invited to a group dinner in Lausanne, was impressed by the service and the food. Wine list was not mega extensive, but a few little gems in the list. The only drawback was the acoustics, a small table of females arrived, and literally we couldn't hear ourselves over the racket! Would go again as the food was very good.... Dear guest thanks a lot for your visit. I am sorry for the noisy. I hope to see you again in our restaurant. best regards

One of my favourite places in Lausanne. The food is always excellent, the service good. Good wine list and menu selections. Try to sit in the back room or if in the nicer weather definitely on the patio. Some items have two servings so I would ask as you well be surprised by the generous portions. Go itâs worth it.

Our friend referred us to this wonderful small restaurant in Lausanne. From the moment you enter, you get a great vibe, lots Italian being spoken.Small bar serving all drinks.Service excellent. We started with very good Aperol Spritz and a nice white wine. The salads were beautifully fresh, and a seafood platter of octopus calamari ect.very good! The two pasta dishes were spectacular one with calamari and a sauce. The second with swordfish and calamari both spectacular! The tiramisu was divine. We highly recommend this restaurant.

A great Italian restaurant. Our picks were: octopus and tartare as starters, both delicious; red ravioli and gnocchi as main course, also great. We finished with cheese cake with chocolate and hazelnuts from Piemonte. Friendly service; we felt like at home. Will definitely come back any time we are there. It is a good investment to get out from most touristic areas and come here; thereâs a bus stop 2â away.

we went because of the review on tripadvisor. Having climbed the stairs to the cathedral we were slightly disappointed to see the menu for vegetarians as pasta can be so "meh" but were loath to walk back down to find somewhere else. And how glad we were that we went in - small restaurant, lovely hostess/waitress and the pasta was fabulous. So pleased we went.We are glad to read your various compliments concerning our restaurant and the food menu. your satisfaction is our best reward. Grazie, grazie, grazie !!Stella et Roberto

The Ciao restaurant is a Ttattoria with a twist offering a delicious selection of Italian dishes in a relax atmosphere.
Great service coupled with a nice meal of caprese salad and prosciutto di parma and arugala pizza. Close to Ouchy metro spot. Lausanneâs metro is awesome. Outstanding French and Italian cuisine. Great ambiance. Great Wine. A place for everyone and with good prices
I have been for dinner with friends and we have all loved this new restaurant in Lausanne. All dishes we had were excellent but also presented in a beautiful way. I had for appetizer the St. Jacques and for main course the vealâs steak. Also the wines recommendations we had were very good we drunk a Vermentino and a Bolgheri from Tuscany. We will definitely come back to this Restaurant.
