My husband and I travel to Costambar every October for numerous reasons but no visit would be complete without dining at Minerva. Located smack dab in the middle of the village it is a dining experience worth repeating, several times. Not only is the food wonderful (I could live on the mashed potatoes alone) but the level of hospitality is exceptional. It is difficult to explain just how delicious the food is without personally adding it to your "must experience" list. The prices are also very reasonable especially for the presentation, serving size and quality of food brought to the table. And of course there is also the complimentary after dinner drink or tasty delight following an already fulfilling meal. I have other favorite restaurants dotted throughout the Costambar landscape but if you are ever in the neighborhood, you really need to plan an evening meal or two at Minerva!

Beautiful Victorian style house, located on top of the putting green of the Playa Dorada Golf Course Artisan home made italian pasta, pizza and old traditional recipies, freshly prepared by Chefs Stefy and Natale from Rome Limited space and reservation su
This is the second time I have dinner at this place and the food it's really amazing! My favorite dish are the pappardelle homemade pasta with cacao and pears. You will be disappointed if you come here for a quick meal, as this is an artisanal cuisine, takes extra time to get the food on the table. So my recommendation is to have a drink and have no rush to enjoy the experience. A reservation is recommended as well to get a better service. Walking distance from all the resorts in Playa Dorada, with a very attentive and friendly staff, great italian food in a cozy and wonderful environment.Thank you for your comments, that help us to improve and make the best experience possibe to our customersWe hope to see you soon againRgdsJose M Espart AlbertiGeneral Manager

Our first day and you'd think we would eat anything but Italian, I am glad we didn't. I ordered grilled eggplant with marinara and second guessed because the eggplant was grilled. The eggplant was thinly sliced and caramelized so that it had a roasted taste and texture. If you've ever had roasted anything, you know how it enhances flavors. I also had the calamari appetizer that was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff was attentive and helpful answering any questions. There were few because the menu is easy to read with English sub titles. Open air and breezy made for excellent ambiance and I loved it. Great prices were a plus. I didn't order dessert only because I am watching my carbs! One caveat though, if you are not a cat lover don't eat here. It is literally an open door restaurant and the cats lounge under the tables. The place was clean and it didn't bother me that they were there. The staff did run them off after one of our group complained. On the Malecon with a view of the beach out of the windows, nice.

"La cocina italiana es una cocina de emociones que enamora, pues sus chefs defienden y tratan sus productos con cariño"
This is the most amazing Italian restaurant, the pizzas are great, thin and crispy, do not get to scared because of the size. The home made pastas are a must as well. All the ingredients feel so natural and fresh, they probably grow some of their own ingredients like vegetables, tomatoes, basil etc. The owners Stef and Natale are great people, and together with their staff, some have been there for many years, take good care of every single person that goes into the restaurant. I have been there several times over the last decade and have never been disappointed, totally recommended!!!

We were pleasantly surprised with this find. The pizza was wonderful and our waitress was very attentive. The food arrived quickly, which is another plus with little ones. Be sure to prepare for mosquitos if you go in the evening!

The Tarappa is a casual restaurant with a timeless elegance in the town of Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, it has a branch in Playa Dorada too. Specializing in Italian food and Highlights for our pizzas and ice creams and with the great selection
Went for dinner with my daughter Jan 26ish? Change of pace from resort food. The food was excellent, the service amazing. My daughter had pizza, (she thought it was more like a panzaratti, fold over style), and I had beef filet with mushroom sauce. We ordered way too much food, not realizing. The steak wasn't as tender as the Keg, but the prices weren't either. Bruschetta was $4. us, Pizza $12.50 or thereabouts. $14 or $16 for the steak. The kitchen is open concept, you can see the chef tossing the crust, old style. Yummmmmy. Would return for sure.

What an excellent end to my vacation! My decision to have dinner here on my last evening at Hotel Paradise which is only 5 minutes walk away from Passatore was the best decision ever! The food is simply to die for! Being as the wines at the AI area of the hotel is not what we Europeans are accustomed to, it was an absolute joy and a pleasure to dine at this superb restaurant which I might add, has also an excellent choice of wines. Thank you to each and every one of you and a special thanks to Jose for making me feel welcome.
