L'ortiche situated in the main square of Sauze d'Oulx, intimate restaurant with approx 100 covers, Italian cuisine with an extensive wine list, booking recommended.
Very well presented tasty food. Not big portions but truly delicous. So if you put Quatily over quantity this is the place to come.Large newly furnished restaurant, nicely done. Good speedy service. Restaurant was very busy and we arrived first without reservation but within 30 minutes restaurant was full. Quite noisey. I would advice reservation

we can't come back here often enough. The food is superb, the wine is cracking and the restaurant itself is so cosy and charming. It is absolutely worth taking the drive down from Sestriere to this little gem.Patrick ti accogliera con specialità della montagna e vini piemontesi buonissimi.. vale assolutamente la pena di scendere da sestriere per mangiare in questo ristorante bellissimo.

I have been going here for years, never once was I dissapointed. service, food, portions, value for money and smiles have never changed. One of the best kept secrets your rep will never tell you about this place as it is an independently run non village political real family run restaurant.Try the Stinco, try anything actually.Great trip at night also with a cat ski doo taking you up the mountain and down. A must visit for lunch or evening meal

The kitchen uses mainly products from our garden, dairy, livestock and beekeeping in addition to herbs and fruits of the fields and woods. Every season we will delight you with proposals to discover the gastronomic cuisine and the territory, with particul
This the type of small cosy and comfortable places I love. Authentic, family owned and operated, well decorated with a warm atmosphere. Delicious dishes coming directly from the farm or locally produced, original menu, we had a delightful diner. The wine menu is italian with a good choice. The ratio price/quality is very correct.Try to book in advance, if you are a small group of 6 to 8 people, you have a table in a small room just next to the fireplace, charming !

A lovely, traditional Italian mountain restaurant, with the vaulted ceilings, a range of pastas and main courses. And then, there are the fondues... Raclette with cheese and lots of potatoes; pierrade, a hot stone on which to cook more meat than you could possibly consume; bourguignonne, the traditional fondue in hot oil. Great wine, in the heart of the beautiful old village of Plan.

Came here to try and stay away from the traditional Italian we had all week. Service was very warm and nice, food was excellent! Ordered chicken with artichoke to die for. Also had a cheese /herbs gnocchi that was fabulous. (They open for dinner at 1930)

We were in Pragelato for two nights, and we ate here twice. If we were in town longer, we would have eaten here more! Unfortunately, we were not that hungry the first night we were there and did not take full advantage of the delicious food. We remedied that by returning the next day for a midday meal. The meals we had here count among some of the best we had on that trip which included Paris, London, Burgundy, and the Piedmont region. Aside from being fresh and delicious, however, the price was unbelievably reasonable. The proprietors/servers were incredibly friendly, nice, and generous -- helpful and eager for us to enjoy our meal. We felt welcomed and valued the minute we stepped in the door. Our first night, tired from a long drive from France, we arrived an hour before they actually started serving dinner (which, when we were there, was at 7:30), and during our wait we were offered glasses of Proseco and invited to sit at a table as final preparations were made.Everything we ate was completely delicious, including the local cheese (which exceeded, I think, many of the cheeses I have had in France) and the local wine, which we received in an unmarked bottle. I enjoyed the best gnocchi of my life. The desserts were clearly homemade and displayed on a table at the front of the restaurant. When we were there, it seemed the only other customers were locals. The atmosphere was cozy, comfortable, and casual -- a stove in the dining room had a few large pots from which some of the dinner dishes were served.I can't say enough good things about this restaurant; it was among the highlights of our trip. I hope to make it back to the Pragelato region, and if I do then I most definitely will return to this restaurant!

It seems like a cosy and nice place to eat with the family. But when we asked the waitress for pizzas she shook her head in disbelief. They didn't have any pizzas!! When I asked why they call themselves pizzeria she just left our table. Unbelievable, rude. The food we than ordered was of medium quality. No thank you, never again.

We had pre-dinner drinks and dinner here. My cocktail was amazing and they serve appetizers included with the drinks (an Italian tradition). My husband had the Wednesday special dinner which he really liked. You usually have to pre-order this so if you plan on going there check first. I had some great gnocchi. The ambiance is nice and the prices very reasonable for the quality/ service.
