We were excited to go back to eat at Joseph's Steakhouse as our experience before the fire was great. This time we weren't impressed. It started with out with the owner pushing us to eat outside. We did go out to look at the outdoor space but didn't think it was all that. Even though he did have heaters, we didn't want to eat outside - it was at night in October when it was 50 degrees. So we went inside where we were given a table near the entrance. There were 2 parties going on and it was loud. The remodel looks nicw, but when the party behind you moves you can feel it in the booth seats. For an appetizer we had the sesame teriyaki wings- very good. Not too sweet and well cooked. Our dinners however were not great. I had the scampi - although the flavor was ok, the pasta was very undercooked. It was a little crunchy and had to be chewed. My husband had the 8oz filet. Although it was a perfect medium rare (as he requested) it was bland. The sides were incorrect, and the garlic mashed didn't taste right until he added butter. One would think that an upscale restaurant like this would elevate the food. We've had a better tasting food at Texas Roadhouse! The menu and the food was better before the fire. It won't be high on on our list of restaurants to visit again. As you can see by our other reviews we are mostly 5 star, that is what we are normally about. The night you were their was probably the busy Saturday night since we open. I try to steer you to the heated patio because we had three large tables of ten in the dinning room that night. I actually had to turn people way because we were full in dining room and patio that night. As for your steak being bland, we usually use are special seasoning to enhance the flavor. The kitchen did amazing job that night but if you steak was a little bland I am sorry. But as for the quality there is not a chain or Steakhouse in the Hudson Valley that uses the quality of steaks that we purchase. As for the pasta being a little crunchy we do cook it fresh and it is cooked Al Dente (a little crunchy). I do take comments seriously and I will have the servers inform that the pasta is cooked Al Dente in the future and that it can be cook more. Being overly busy on a Saturday night is because we are a good restaurant but I still want every customers happy. Hope you give us another try and I will try my best to make your next visit a special dining experience. Joseph

Great pizza here, warning, a large pizza is la la la large. Good stuff, we always get the Joeâs pie, square pie with just sauce and graded cheese.Owner and staff are great, super friendly people.Prices very reasonable.

Lolita's makes and serves absolutely excelled pizza. The thin crust has clearly been refined over the years. It's not in Brooklyn or in Manhattan, but still, it's very good. Having read earlier reviews, I chose the white pizza. With lots of cheese and garlic, along with olive oil, it's not greasy. Just flavorful. I found the pizza to be nicely filling and I walked out satisfied. Others ordered the kale salad and the chopped salad. These were also fresh, flavorful and distinctive. The reason to give Lolita's only 4* is the prices. It's a bit rich to ask $15 for a 12" pizza in Poughkeepsie.

We have been serving the local area for over 20 years. As the most talked about pizzeria in town, we are known for our quality and price. We strive to offer you the best homemade pizza you've ever tasted, and our staff gladly caters to your wants and need
Anytime I'm in Poughkeepsie visiting my daughter, I make sure I stop in at Emiliono's. I think there pizza is the best I ever had. They got a big selection of gourmet pizzas. The owner is super friendly and you can tell he's loved in the neighborhood. His awnings hanging over his storefront are awesome.

While driving East past the heart of Poughkeepsie and Adams Market on Route 44, my hubby got hungry. We pulled over to the big White House to rt of the market and were in for a terrific surprise.( I remembered being to a restaurant in that same location decades ago, which was not so good.) Today, was much, much different. What we found, instead, was a first class Italian restaurant steeped in old world charm, run by people, (like ourselves), originally from âthe cityâ.) Most of the diners surrounding us were eating all kinds of pasta , and plenty of it. It was Saturday , the day before Easter. Our pasta day was Sunday, so we opted to split a tender, juicy 16 oz. sirloin steak , served with a home made potato pancake loaded with authentic fresh grated Italian cheese and string beans prepared in olive oil and garlic. The meal came with large salads coated with a choice of dressing made from scratch. Our wine was an unusually large pour of an excellent robust Chianti from their house selection. Dessert , a heavenly tiramisu. There is a private dining room upstairs available for group dinners where food served family style. We were surrounded by regulars , from this area, who seemed to know the place. Now we, KNOW, and shall return. A special âHiâ to our waiter , David who treated us oh so special, accommodating us. Portions are huge. People walking out with doggie bags, the rule, rather than exception. Reservations are recommended. We got lucky when we arrived as there was a last minute cancellation.

Itâs not worth it to order take out from here anymore. The servings are very small and the orders get screwed up. The food was ok. I guess itâs better to stay and dine here. Servings are larger when you stay.

Headed By Local Culinary Institute of America Graduate, Joel Trocino. Creative weekly specials, plus always serving the classic Italian American Dishes. We Serve Pizzas and Burgers and lite fare in our lounge, as well as full take out and delivery busines
Situated across from the train station this building dates from about 1840 was originally a brewery owned by a Mr. Vassar who gave money to the formerly school for ladies nearby. Now it is a restaurant. Ground level caters to the pizza set...take-out but a couple of tables to eat in. Lots of choices. Looked great as we entered. Upstairs is a most comfortable dining room with high ceilings. The food is amazing. Yes, try the daily specials but also check out the menu for pasta with Sunday gravy...an assortments of meats. I liked the lobster ravioli. Joey talked about his experiences and that of the evolution of his restaurant. He treated to "Italian Tacos" a sweet. We ate for 2 days and shared with staff at our hotel. Thank you.

This is a wonderful "local" restaurant that is very popular with vacationers and year round residents. The food is very fresh tasting and served in generous portions. The rooms are bright with pleasing decor and ample seating. We sat in a cozy section and the conversation level was comfortable. There were larger groups in another room. The service is good, all dishes were enjoyed (including 2 desserts) and we lingered to chat and savor the ambiance.

Restaurant and wine bar serving house made pasta and other Hudson Valley foods. Featuring scenic views of the Hudson and the Walkway and self serve wine machines as well as eight craft beers on tap, a full bar and thirteen wines by the glass.
I've been here a number of times and always enjoyed the food. They change the menu seasonally and specials nightly. The bartender/mixologist, Deb, creates some amazing, original special cocktails too. It is worth talking to her about it, it's really interesting.Itâs great to hear that youâre one of our regulars here at the Nic L inn! That is the best compliment in it self, and then to share this 5 star review is another.......thank you so much!! Weâre glad to hear that you always enjoy the food and like the idea that we change our menu seasonally. It allows us to take advantage of locally sourced ingredients. Deb is great at what she does, creating cocktails to go along with the season as well. Thanks again, and CHEERS till next time .
