The Paradise Bar Restaurant Pizzeria, situated a short distance from the seafront promenade of Bombarde Alghero, serves delicious dishes from the local tradition, is based on fresh fish and meat of the territory, as well as a wide choice of pizzas cooked
Went for a lunch today, and was disappointed/surprised to hear that Pizza is only served on the evening. We decided to take the grilled fish (even though I'm not a fish lover), as it was fresh caught that morning. Some areas for improvement, but generally pleasant people serving good quality food at reasonable prices. Worth a visit if staying locally.
The best possible via Sassari, Alghero neighbourhood coffee and cake bar, plus the usual wider range of snacks, and wonderful icecream, too! Great camaraderie and always a friendly welcome. The range of cakes, small and large, are available to eat in or take away - in whatever size of box you like. The gateaux are fabulous, wonderful to look at as well as taste, and they also do ice cream to take away too. It's our first port of call when we arrive in Alghero.
If you are looking for a quality place to eat barbecue in Sardinia, this is the place for you. Great place, great people.

Best pesto I've ever eaten! Recommend asking for a litre of the house white wine and the pesto. I will be visiting again in the coming months: the food is fresher than i've ever eaten and cannot find anything to complain about

Although it is not immediately obvious from the Tripadvisor page, this is actually the restaurant in the El Faro Hotel. We stayed at the Hotel for four nights. Normally we prefer to go out and sample local restaurants rather than eat in the restaurant of the hotel. However, it is about a twenty minute drive into Alghero if you wanted to eat locally. So, we finished up eating in the hotel restaurant on two occasions. Both dinners were very good. Each time we settled for the 32 euros set menu rather than the extensive A la Carte menu. We were not disappointed. The set menu has a limited choice, but it is changed each night. We would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

The tone of a restaurant, I believe, is set by the Maitre D and where he is happy, jolly and enthusiastic, the diners have an all together better experience. Despite this restaurantâs head honcho having none of those qualities, his staff were in the main not influenced by him and proved to be good at their jobs. Our Maitre D was extremely dignified and aloof but somewhat lacking in âje ne sais quoi â. I suppose the way he wandered around aimlessly, the clip board he used to take the orders, the way he displayed the fresh fish, the way he mumbled and his failure to understand the order all contributed. Certainly his aloofness, as if he was Parisien working in one of the top French restaurants, did not help!! The following day at breakfast made us wonder if all this was maybe down to nerves at being asked to do the job as he appeared to be just one of the gang helping at the buffet breakfast? The dining room is modern but beautifully set out - although would have preferred, for the price, to have had a little more space between tables. Then I would not have been subjected to the over the top rantings of an over privileged English young lady at the next table!!I will not dwell on the differing courses we had other than to say the mussels were described as a broth with mussels (actually mussels and cooking liquor with no plate for shells or finger bowl/wipes offered) and the red mullet was âmurderedâ in a tasteless tomato and, strangely thin, sauce with none of the potatoâs promised and a side plate of cold tinned petit pois peas?!!I thought a three figure amount (including 38 for wine) was so far over the top that it was in the next bay!!!Although the formality and time taken (nearly two hours) is acceptable now and again, we did not find the evening a pleasant experience and sought a place less casual with better food for our other night at this Hotel!! Incidentally, despite the formality, there is no dress code and shorts are acceptable which I found one of the better things about it!!The breakfast buffet was expansive and ok with the option of certain cooked items at a price.

Very good place. Not expensive. The best
During our recent âhow many beautiful beaches in Sardegna can we visit vacation,â we took our evening agenda on an invigorating path of local Sardo Cuisine via the thriving agriturismo scene in the area. The fixed menu to serve the masses is not easily pulled off, but Agriturismo Porticciolo was able to do it and do it well. Their fixed meal consisted of various salamis and antipasti to get the meal gong followed by 2 first plates of pasta and 2 seconds of meat. Noteworthy dishes were the ravioli stuffed with cheese and various vegetables and the succulent spit cooked pig. The experience was so good...we can back the next night as well.

Located in one of the most beautiful beaches of Alghero and surronded by the beautiful Mugoni Pinewood, Le Ninfe Bar-Restaurant, with family conduction that has an experience ofbover 45 years, will offer you the best traditional cooking of meat and fish.
We chose this restaurant for lunch based on the TA reviews whilst spending the day at Mugoni beach. The cocktails were amazing and the food was even better. All home cooked and authentic and seriously delicious. The melanzane parmigiana was outstanding. Could not recommend more!!

This was an exceptionally good find. We chose locally caught fish which was very fresh, prepared simply and deboned at our table. The house wine was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff were helpful, friendly and created a relaxed and happy atmosphere
