Carmel's is a unique restaurant located in the heart of the picturesque McLaren Vale. The Restaurant presents an ever-changing menu focusing on flavors to compliment the extensive wine selection from local wineries. The food is modern Australian twist on
The service was very good, smiling staff is always a good sign.We ordered... sage and onion porterhouse schnitzel with mash and veg which was really well received. Wagu rump done medium rare with chips and salad. The steak was tender but slightly over. Wagu rump done medium with mash and veg. The steak was slightly over cooked again but was tender and had a good flavour. BBQ ribs X2 were very tender falling off the bone. However the coleslaw is lacking in flavour chips were really nice. Our grandson had the chicken homemade nuggets. He is 3 and enjoyed them but salad for a 3 year old with chips was a bit off key. He had no sauce with the dish and I think maybe give the little ones a choice of baked beans. Our 8 year old granddaughter had the salt and pepper squid and it was tender and she loved it.We had a really good meal and left feeling full.We split the bill and each used the Entertainment card which saved us 40% each. Will return again as the meal was very good and the owner was up for a laugh.Hi Chris,Glad you enjoyed your time at Carmel's.By the way the discount on the Entertainment Card was 25% not 40% just in case someone reads the review and says they've been hard done by.

We celebrated a few family birthdays and as we were a large group, we had a set menu.It was fantastic! You will not leave this place hungry! The wine was delicious, the service was fantastic and the views and surrounds are tranquil and picturesque.Highly recommend visiting we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
An Excellent take away, with all the items plus more. Wonderful hot packs + heavenly chips. Also lovely Yiros's including Mushroom Packs. Whatever you want for your palette you will find here, you will not be disappointed!.
This place has some pretty good pizza at a decent price I also love how they have a separate area we can get fish and chips and dim sims and that kind of stuff too so if you've got someone that doesn't like pizza you can order some food too please then it's excellent to have that type of variety I've been here a few times and the pizza has been consistently good every time

We stopped at Mitolo for wine tasting. Nice setting with a great view (like almost everywhere in McLaren Vale) and a nice modern restaurant. The highlight for us was the wine tasting. They had a few options and we picked the one that could fit a vegetarian style with 6 wines. The whole experience was great and the wines, mainly the Shiraz and Cab Suv for me, where excellent. Very nice.

I often get a discount voucher online for here. My brother and sis-in-law almost logged off internet when the pizzas arrived. They change some of their line-up but I have never had anything less than an excellent pizza from this store. Not so a Dominos right in the next suburb.

Love Fasta Pasta, don't eat Pasta but still great variety, not just for pasta lovers.Always served with a smile, staff always welcoming and happy to help.Been there so many times and no problems, great location and open every day for lunch and dinner. The pizzas are to die for and the chicken parmi's are always great. Great deserts also all at reasonable prices.

Friday 10th May 2019 for lunch we went back to Trattoria Di Roma at Christes beach. This time we wanted to try pizza and pasta. We ordered a 9" piemonte pizza (roasted pork, red onions, oregano, mozzarella and balsamic). The base was beautiful, light but super crisp and not dense or doughy. It did have a tomato sauce but that was mild, fresh and not intense and didn't overwhelm the other flavours. The pork was delicious and we loved the balsamic and the onions. It was quite rich and a 9" to share was the right amount for us. We didn't think either of us would have been able to enjoy a full one of this each.We then had gnocchi- house made, napoletana sauce, Parmesan, basil and mozzarella.Very light. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked, very light, not watery at all and not heavy. The sauce was very fresh, not over reduced and tasted amazing. We also ordered a ravioli that was stuffed with spinach and ricotta with a pumpkin sauce. This was divine. Light, perfectly cooked pasta, the filling had a lot of flavour and the sauce was well seasoned and you could taste the basil and the pumpkin. It had a lovely creamy feta on it as well that helped finish the dish.We ordered a Napoli salad (rocket, pear and Parmesan) we've had this style of salad before but this was a new variation with the batons of pear rather than thin slices and the Parmesan also seemed to be grated not shaved. Both of these changes made the dish work better for us. And things we'll try at home.We then indulged in dessert a chocolate for Tess and Lemoncello for Daz- both full of flavour, easy to eat and tasted great. Daz loved the bitterness of the lemoncello and Tess liked the creaminess of the chocolate and hazelnut flavours that weren't too sweet. An espresso finished the lunch for Daz, he was very happy that the blend used was strong and didn't taste like a cappuccino blend. All in all- this is a great Italian restaurant. The owner/chef is very passionate about his food and it shows. We loved it and will return again and again. It's a small venue and has a limited alcohol list but it's enough. Bookings are recommended due to size of venue.
