Italian ice cream and pastry shop, which offers different options to please the palate with different and new flavors.
Coming from Australia, we look forward to our morning tea time. This is perfect! Our favorite for the two months we were in Coco. This charming shop has a variety of unique pastries to choose and I think we tried them all. The quality ingredients is very evident in every bite. We also sampled the passion fruit gelati which was out of this world. The coffee was very nice too. This lovely café is located off the main street and may be easy to miss, but don't! Look for it when you're after that nice, quiet cuppa and something sweet. You won't be disappointed. .

Typical Mediterranean cuisine from the great south of Italy and official napolitan pizza. We will be waiting for you to come to try our specialities.
The food is really good. The eggplant parm is delicious. The calzone is authentic. The service is friendly but unfortunately the kitchen is hard pressed to get out meals for large groups. Some at our table had already finished by the time others were being served. We have gone with small groups and didnât have any problem. They are new to Coco and really deserve to succeed so give them a try. You wonât be disappointed

The real Sicilian cuisine has arrived at Playas del Coco. All the flavors, aromas and colors of Mediterranean cuisine. A restaurant where you can spend wonderful evening with your friends or with your family. Excellent Italian wines.
First the positives - great location right on the beach with a very open air set up which keeps you cool on even a hot day, nice and peaceful decorations with a friendly greeter the day we visited. We went for lunch during high season and I know that is a more challenging time for any restaurant, but this really missed the mark. I had eggplant parmesan which consisted of three to four pieces of thick sliced eggplant covered in mozzarella cheese and red sauce baked... never mind the fact the menu said it was breaded (it wasnât). The eggplant skin was so tough I could barely cut it with the knife. The accompanying veggies side was cold. Oh, did we mention that was the best meal of the three! The ravioli was terrible and the kids tried to order pasta with red sauce but instead got a seafood white sauce pasta dish with a bunch of mussels (this was an honest mistake due to a language barrier with the waitress - I should have said âsauca rojaâ when I ordered instead of marinara as they have a dish called marisco which is what she heard instead). Now - my son happens to like mussels anyway so he tried it (as did my wife) but it too missed the mark. Where the restaurant finally degraded to a 1 star in my book is when I said *in Spanish* that we wanted just red sauce and pasta (and pointed to the two ingredients already on our table in the other dishes) and the waitress said the kitchen couldnât do that... never mind the fact both the ravoli and my eggplant came with red sauce and their were obviously noodles as my sonâs mistaken dish. After 5-10 minutes more, the waitress came back and changed the comment from the kitchen to they would now do it but we had already asked for the check. To add insult to injury on this As I was paying, I saw the kitchen cooking and watch a chef attempt to add spice to a sauté pan full of something and accidentally dump 1/4 of one of those big spice containers we all have at home in the pan (at least a 1/2 of cup of the spice!). Seemingly unbothered by the massive over addition of spice, she scooped some out and kept on cooking. Yes, we have all done something similar, but it speaks to the focus is on getting food OUT not on serving GOOD food. The owners should remind their staff that with sites like trip advisor, tourist restaurant can no longer solely count on location to bring in business. You must care about the experience - even if the guest may never come back.

Got the supreme Pizza as a take away and were very impressed. The pizza arrived hot and fresh within 10 minutes; in fact, we didnât even have time to finish our glass of wine before we got it!

This is a really authentic Italian dining experience right in the heart of Playas del Coco. It is run by an Italian family that immigrated to custom Rica 13 years ago. Everything is terrific from the atmosphere to the interior design to the food to the service. We also had the pleasure of being served by the families 14 year old charming and efficient young son. Heartily recommended. Onenote Colin take heart if you're walking there and it that never appears to arrive. The sign to the restaurant says 200 m but it's more like 600 m keep going it's worth it.Muchas gracias por su recencion...estamos muy feliz y agradecidos que su esperiencia fue placentera en nuestro restaurante.Gracias los esperamos la proxima vez con mucho gusto.

Open for lunch and dinner with garden with candle light and air conditioning inside... Home made pasta
We visited La Dolce Vita last week because the kids were tired of Costa Rican food and wanted some pasta. The service and food exceeded expectation! We had the tomato mozzarella salad, which was delicious and generously sized--three of us shared it.Much of the pasta was homemade by our server's mom, and you could totally tell. The gnocchi was like little pillows of pasta flavored with bits of bacon in a creamy red tomato sauce. My homemade strotzapretti pasta was HUGE, and packed with seafood. It was fresh and so good that I kept eating long after I was full. My son's margareta pizza was delicious and there was plenty left for breakfast the next day.My parents are there tonight for another experience, and they are bringing takeout back to the house for the rest of us. Can't wait to try it again!
