Genevieve's is always at the tip of some of my acquaintance's tongue went they are choosing a place to eat for the evening. I finally got to try it while my mother and I were in town.We were not disappointed . It is a simple small place where the chief is hands on by coming out to see how everything was.I had the kale salad with grilled chicken and my mother a veggie burger. All fresh and good.I would go back.

Roman Delight

Reviewed By GreenUnicorn

After we finished our morning hiking at Peace Valley Nature Center, we were ready for lunch. We weren't really ready for the downtown Doylestown atmosphere. Roman Delight was nearby, and reviews on Trip Advisor were good, so we decided to give it a try.Roman Delight is not a pretentious place as are many of the downtown restaurants. We were in a nice family type restaurant. Both of our salads were delicious. I went for the Mediterranean salad, which is their Caesar salad with (7) grilled shrimp and lump crab meat and fresh croutons. My husband chose the Italian salad with grilled chicken. He liked the mixture of tomatoes, peppers and onions, and the grilled chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We asked for and received oil and vinegar on the side, instead of Caesar dressing, which would absolutely have overwhelmed the delicate lump crab meat in my salad.A reasonably size glass of wine was a very reasonable $5.75. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices overall were reasonable for what we received. All in all, we really enjoyed our lunch at Roman Delight and certainly would go back if we were in the area again.

Just opened, this authentic Sicilian Family Restaurant includes a wood fired brick oven which creates an old country aroma that greets you as you enter the establishment. The Italian menu includes pasta, parmigiana, seafood, salads, and appetizers. My wife and I were there for lunch; she had the generous Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwich and I had the Quartro Gusti (four flavors) wood fired pizza (one of about a dozen specialty pizzas.) As the menu is examined, there is the realization that the flavors of authentic, first generation Sicilian offerings are being presented. Hamburgers and steak sandwiches are also on the menu.

I sponsored a party for 18 here under the banner of the Family style menu ($50 person) where you get to pick one or two options under a category. Note family style is not all you can eat. They decide on the portions not the customer. I went with:Appetizers (Calamari Fritti and Mozzarella in Carrozza), Salad (Insalata di Cesare), Pastas (Rigatoni di Pomadoro and Penne alla Vodka), Meat (Chicken Florentine and Veal Marsala), Fish (Salmone Casalingo). It also came with mini cannolis and tiramisu. In addition, I ordered 15 meatballs off the menu (3 for $6).All items were very good with favorites being both appetizers, meatballs, penne vodka, chicken Florentine and salmon. The cannoli were small and average tasting at best. The tiramisu was very good. I felt they could have served more of both products. What I did not like was as follows:- Their Italian bread is about a low budget as you can get- They opened bottles of wine that I brought without asking how many should be opened resulting in several bottles never being used- There was very little veal served as a portion- They charged me $30 for a child’s meal which should have been free (under 3 years old) when I only ordered chicken fingers which is $9- Service for the most part was inattentive and not professional enough- The place was too hot and very noisy making the experience uncomfortable- The two pastas were served at the same time as the entrees resulting in overcrowded table space and confusion. This is usually considered a Secondi serving ahead of the main course which is what it should have been.- They offered espresso and cappuccino without permission which was additional cost to me- They charged the 20% tip after taxes were applied to the billI brought the issue of lack of ample veal and overcharge to the attention of our head server and then he went to the manager who pushed back on the veal and implied an offer to so something about the overcharge but did nothing. After spending over $1,200 I figured it was the cost of doing business and an opportunity the make it part of my review. Overall, if I had to do I again I would not get the family meal and make their job harder taking custom orders. If anything, I think I ended up paying more per person. An appetizer ($11), pasta ($11) and entrée ($19) is $41 plus coffee and a dessert gets you to $50 and you would have had more food per person.Hello-I apologize you were not completely satisfied, we do strive to give the best customer service. If I could, I would like to offer an explanation to some of the items you had listed-1. The family style menu you chose included 3 meats- one chicken, one veal and one fish. You chose chicken Francese (not Florentine, we do not have a Florentine on any of our menus), chicken Marsala, veal Marsala, and salmon casalingo. You chose 4 meat dishes instead of 3, and as we discussed this, in order to keep the price the same I offered to do less chicken Marsala and less veal Marsala, therefore counting these two separate meats as one meat. This is the reason you may feel that there was not enough veal Marsala served.2. Also discussed over the phone (when we were discussing the meatballs as part of the appetizer course or as part of the entree course), how many different courses was brought up and it was decided you wanted 4 courses- an appetizer course, a salad course, an entree course, and a dessert course. If you had wanted a separate pasta course, we would have absolutely been able to accommodate if this was made known to us earlier. 3. The subtotal of the bill came to $976.50, the gratuity of $195.30 is 20% of this subtotal. Taxes are never a determining factor for gratuity, this may be a bit confusing though because on the bill it lists tax on the line above gratuity. However I just made sure of the calculation and 20% of the subtotal before tax is $195.30.I hope the above helps to clarify a few things, also since this review I have obviously pulled up the receipt and knowing which servers tended to your party, I can discuss their attentiveness with them as well as suggest only opening one bottle of wine at a time, and asking the host in charge before taking espresso and cappuccino orders. Some of the other items you listed unfortunately I can not offer any help with (for example the restaurant being noisy at 7:00 on a Friday evening) but I can assure you that any issues with service will be immediately addressed .Thank you for taking the time to review us

On a quiet afternoon, the two partners, Joe and Guido may be watching the soccer games from Italy while presiding over an array of artisan pizzas rarely seen elsewhere in their variety and presentation. Joe from Calabria and Guido, a native of Rome, have a friendly rivalry concerning their respective culinary styles. If you dig a little deeper into the menu, past the usual red sauce dishes that many customers are accustomed to, you will enjoy tastes that are very close to what you would experience at Mamma's family table in Italy. At dinner time Galasso's becomes a BYOB restaurant much appreciated by the locals. There will always be fresh seafood and excellent lamb or veal specials at reasonable prices. The included salads and fresh baked bread rolls leave just enough room for the well chosen desert menu. Take home a really good pizza or stay to enjoy Italy on the Delaware.

After a decent wait at the DMV my wife and I stopped in because she had liked it the past. Service was fast and very cordial. They had a bunch of different pizza options by the slice ready to go. The Sicilian pizza had a perfect crust that wasn't to doughy. The plain pizza was delicious, the crust was thin like the other review said and not chewy. The cheese was gooey and real mozzarella. One of the best pizza joints I have been to.Happy eating

This is an unpretentious little place in a strip center at the northern edge of Doylestown. The chief and I hadn’t been there in years, so we decided to try it after an event we attended. It’s a BYOB and while we had a bottle of wine, there were folks there with their own vodka too. The menu is upscale italian and there are several specials. The chief and I split a ceaser salad and she had the shrimp and I had the soft shell crab special. The place is now owned by a nice young couple. The wife runs the front and the husband is the chef. Try it!Thank you for the lovely review. We strive to give our customers the best dinning experience possible. We appreciate business and we hope to continue to serve you for years to come. Warmly, the staff at Il Melograno

Stopped in for dinner. Three people took our drink order and none of them brought our drinks. Finally got our drinks and ordered. The calamari was rubbery and had been frozen. I asked for Bleu cheese on my burger and they put Bleu cheese salad dressing on it. Terrible. The Margarite pizza had canned tomatoes on it. We had to go inside-we were on the patio-to pay the bill because our waitress was sitting at the bar having a drink. The bus boy apologized for the poor service. He was the only good thing about the meal. Never going there again.

The staff and food are fun & fantastic. We keep coming back. The white pizza is our favorite. It has the right combination of garlic & cheese. Their cheese steak & their chicken cheese steaks are the best. When family visits from out of state this is one of the stops.
