Reviews on Italian food in Morro de Sao Paulo, State of Bahia, Brazil. Part of Morro de Sao Paulo’s charm is its mix of upscale, new hotels and restaurants with older, shabbier pousadas and taverns. This car-free and carefree island has just one road and a handful of beaches… it’s a wonderful place to get away from it all.

Our menu specializes in Brazilian cuisine with an international hint! We also have free wi-fi and transmit games and events. Open daily from 11:30 to 00.
We stopped by for a late lunch and ended up having their âgourmet burgersâ. The burgers were really good, but not exceptional. The service on the other hand was excellent, and very accommodating to special needs (eg low salt), and the fries were great! Overall, good for a casual lunch.

I've been there two nights ago. After a long wait, premising I was the only costumer, my pizza has arrived. It was like an old hard cracker with some stuff representing food on the top!It was disgusting!!!!I was hungry so, despite the appearance of the dish, I did try to eat... but I just change my mind half way...Realizing my situation, the young girl serving me, came over and offer to change my dish... sort of 30 min too late...At the moment I was paying, I did say about my dish, and the manager or owner, I really don't know, just says next time would be better... and charge me as usual. You know when is gonna be "the next time"? NEVER!!!!!

The gnocchi al pesto was close to perfect. The fettuccine al'arabiata was perfect. The waitress/hostess/owner convinced us to upgrade to the "buffalo mozzarella" (her words), so we were disappointed to find the bread topped with regular Brazilian white cheese. Our bill was miscalculated 10 reals in the restaurant's favor.

Coming from Sao Paulo we thought we would not eat that well in Morro de Sao Paulo and we were (obviously) not going to eat pizza there... let alone pasta. But Chez Max was conveniently located and I and our son were recovering from a stomach flu, so we were limited to few food options outside our hotelâs restaurant, which is great (we stayed at the Minha Louca Paixao). The pizza was one of the best pizzas we ever ate (in Brazil, Italy and many other places around the world where we have been). The pasta our son ate and we tried was perfect. The beef striped beef was awesome. And the price? It was totally fair. Service is not so fast, but not too slow. I would eat there every day if I could...

Pasta shop.
Unassuming restaurant on a side street with some street seating for people-watching and more tables inside. I decided to try this Italian spot based on reviews and wasnât disappointed (unlike with El Sitio). The owner is Italian and they are making pasta right in front of your eyes, super fresh. The menu is on a board so it changes often. I ordered the lamb and the tagliatelle and both were fantastic. Fresh and cooked perfectly. Highly recommended!

We´ve been to Morro in the end of 2017, and twice at Cantina Barolo. The tables are just by the sea, wich is lovely. The food is really good, service a bit chaotic some times, what adds more itaallian flavour to the experience.

Restaurante de praia
The specialties here are the seafood, and the Italian. Fish, prawns/shrimp, gnocchi, pasta, ask about the specials, there will be something youâll love. This is real Italian cooked by an Italian, not the generic garbage found around the world. Paolo the owner will answer all your questions and cook you something delicious. Best meal we had on the island!
