Felt like having Italian Food, so I stopped in for the first time in a long time. It brought back old memories and made me wonder why I don't eat there more often.

A great location for Ebelskivers, a sour cream batter pancake ball, very unusual but tasty. The traditional breakfasts are excellent and the service is timely. Decorated with live plants, lending to a garden setting. Parking is at a premium, so go early. Very reasonably priced and when seated the breakfast menu is under glass on the table. They bring you a large bottle of water so you can refill your glass as needed.

This was a really nice restaurant! The decor was modern and chic, the food was plentiful and the flavor was ok (needed a little salt). The lemonade was phenomenal and the bread was soft, buttery and delicious. The owner was very attentive and kind and our waitress was nice and helpful. Overall, great dinner!

We tried this restaurant because we love Italian food, and there are very few, really good Italian restaurants in the valley. We arrived and were greeted by a smiling waitress who showed us to a nice booth. We were given a complementary basket of warm bread, and ordered the Bruschetta. It was as one would expect of great Bruschetta, with tomatoes, garlic chunks, fresh basil, grated parmesan cheese on toasted bread. It was very good. Then I made a mistake. I ordered the calamari from the appetizer section while my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala (her favorite meal). While waiting for our meal, I enjoyed a glass of a fabulous little red wine called "Dark Horse". It was fantastic and would compliment almost everything served in an Italian restaurant. The next time we go back, I will order a bottle; it was that good! The Calamari??? It arrived; a Mt. Everest of calamari pieces sprinkled with chunks of garlic and frosted with parmesan cheese. Try as I might, and I really tried, I could not scale this mountain of succulent, tasty, seafood. But I was able to take my leftovers home for the next day to enjoy all over again. Ditto for my wife, she ate her fill of the chicken marsala, and it looked like she hardly ate anything at all; she too ate well the next day, and said it was among the best marsala dishes she has ever had. Sadly, we had no room for dessert, although they had several items the waitress claimed were fantastic. And I believe her, because her wine choices, and the calamari she recommended were stellar. Thank you, Deanna (our waitress)!I would give this restaurant 4.5 stars, except I don't know how to do the .5 part. A little more attention to the restroom would have rated them 5 stars. We will return. We have finally found a true Italian restaurant in the valley. Buon appetito!

Everything was absolutely delicious! The decor was modern and chic. The staff were very friendly and attentive. This was the first time I had sweet balsamic vinaigrette and it was delicious! My fettuccine with shrimp was phenomenal! It was flavorful, fresh, tasted light and authentic! The lemon creme brûlée wasnât too sweet and the lemon was not overpowering! I had a fabulous lunch!

Found this restaurant through a recommendation. Wish I had known earlier. GREAT food. Very small and cozy atmosphere, excellent, friendly wait staff. But it's the great food you come back for. I've yet to try anything on the menu I wasn't crazy about. Salads, pastas,....All fantastic.

Consistently delicious food is never an issue, but our recent visit was enhanced by our amazing waitress, Laura. We had the salad, and then more salad - can't get enough of that amazing dressing - with the "create your own pasta bowl," with corkscrew pasta, pesto sauce, and grilled chicken. We both agreed that the pasta dish was one of the best we've ever tasted and we now have a new favorite. Can't wait for our next visit to Modesto.

Having grown up in New York where good Italian food is abundant, I was delighted to discover Chefs of New York when they opened their downtown Modesto café several years ago. Their red sauce is delicious. Their home-made Chicken Tortellini soup is hearty and flavorful - perfect comfort food, especially if one is under the weather. Salad and pasta dishes are large and tasty. Service is always friendly and efficient. Great venue for pre-theater or after work dining.

Galletto Ristorante is located amid the vitality of Modesto, California's newly renovated downtown. They specialize in providing inspired cuisine, impeccable service and unparalleled indoor and outdoor facilities for an intimate dinner or a large party. U
My table partner came here already several times and she was speaking very highly of this restaurant. So we went in with high expectations. The restaurant itself is magnificent, high ceilings, nicely dressed tables, pleasant atmosphere. But as the restaurant was quite empty, you had a sense of missing something. The waiters were very keen on helping you, even a bit too helpful. We had our starters with some local beers, and these paired well. But somebody has to explain me why the chefs are already preparing your main dishes when you have just begun to eat your starters. We specifically told them that we wanted a 'slow' service, but it didn't help. We had the suggested pasta with chesse and truffle, but the cheese sauce was soo overwhelming that the pasta as well as the truffle were hardly noticeable. really a shame. We were really disspointed about the service and the main course, that we asked for the bill and left. quite bizar experience, as my table partner gave it a new shot last week and she was really pleased about the food.Perhaps we walked in on one of those evenings ...

We visited this restaurant while visiting family in the area. It is a small place dimly lit and with old style decor. The staff were very friendly, efficient and professional. The menu very Italian but that is where it stops. The food served very hot timely but lacked any real flavor. I am a spaghetti lover and the sauce was not flavorful at all. I make more flavorful sauce at home. Others in our party had various lasagnas and the same story with there entries a lack of real Italian spark. All in all not worth going back to sadly as the staff were very friendly and efficient.
