I did not want to give up on this place, therefore, armed with a groupon ticked I came back for a second visit.Still no good. Ambiance and staff pleasant but food is just not good. Linguine with clams oversalted with clams VERY chewy.Ravioli with lobster sauce terrible. Drowned in tomato sauce with little or no lobster taste. Taste came back on me for hours.I guess Mineola is just full of Italian-American places that have little or nothing to do with genuine Italian food.Sorry.

There's nothing special about this place....just an average "red-sauce" Italian restaurant. The food is good but not memorable, the decor is typical "Mediterranean"....th service was very attentive...the manager/owner was extremely ;personable...the prices were fair and reasonable, the wine list extensive.

We went to this restaurant based on the good reviews. Our experience was anything but good! We waited quite a while for a waiter. The wine I ordered never came. The caesar salad was just passable and had some unidentifiable "things" the size of a crouton but soft and tasteless. I had cavatelli bolognese which was meat and fat, tasteless. I just ate a little of it. The waiter couldn't understand why I didn't want to take the rest home. He did comp my desert because I didn't eat my main course. My wife had the whole wheat pasta with veggies. She said it was just ok, a lot of pepper. The desert was good. Very noisy, poor service, we won't be back

I was with a group of five. Had reservations in the loft section which offer some seclusion from the main dining floor. The stairs to go up are not steep, though you heard waitpersons drop plates (presumably with food) or glasses (may be with drinks). The wait person recites the daily specials which are quite a few. This is an Italian restaurant and has an extensive menu. A large selection of wines is also offered. The portions are ample. I have been here several times and tried out various dishes. In general, they tend to be salt heavy. Wait service is efficient and quick. Lots of free parking in the rear and you can enter the restaurant from the rear which is what most patrons do. A place to go to for a slight more formal meal.

When youâre in the mood for good times and great cuisine, Piccola Bussola is the place to be. Our restaurant is located in one of the areaâs most pleasant settings and is known for its delightful staff and superb cuisine. The menu at Piccola Bussola Risto
This is the solid go to when looking for a great Italian dinner, whether going for a romantic dinner for two or a large family style mangiata. Tony and friends have delivered for years and if there a few must trys, the penne matricana, veal chop milanese, seafood diavolo and the escarole salad are definitely standouts.Chi mangia bene vivi bene....

I honour Anyone who can eat the entire portion of anything in this place! When I ordered the small version of the 'lunch special eggplant' I thought I'd happily plow thru to completion... instead I've got a 'dogie bag' for the next Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.... and it was fabulous food. Furrgetaboutit for the starters, and bring an appetite.

Located on Jericho Turnpike, Uncle Bacala has wonderful Italian food. The main dining room can be a bit crowded but the surrounding dining areas upstairs and downstairs are fine. The serving staff was very friendly, attentive and eager to please. The skirt steak was huge as were the chicken dishes and penne pasta, the salad was sufficient. A big dessert selection was a nice way to finish off the meal.Prices are a bit on the high side but it was a nice treat. There was valet parking but not sure if that's all the time, for large groups or only on weekends.

Six adults had dinner here recently. My son had heard about their ravioli and wanted to try. We were not disappointed. Place is charming with adequate parking. Service was top notch. Portions large and flavorful. Gluten free options. Save room for dessert. Highly recommend.

While this is a pizzeria, the food is a cut above "pizzeria" in my book. Our party enjoyed: 1. chicken platter (grilled) which had a beautiful side salad as an option; both side salad and the platter were colorful, 2. oreganate penne, 3. baked lasagna, 4. grilled chicken hero and 5. grilled chicken parm hero as well as 6. side of broccoli (must love garlic or push it to the side). People we were with said this is one of their go-to places and the newcomers can see why. As another reviewer noted, the portions are large. Recommend.

Located in Carle Place for 3+ decades, the food is so consistently good with massive portions, it is always busy. Their seafood, pasta and especially their sauce (shipped all over the world) make this the favorite Italian/seafood restaurant for multi-generations. Their sauces (mild-med-hot) are just the best. The hot is too hot for me, but their mild and medium dance on my palate. Started with a beautiful caprese salad and fried zucchini wheels for the table. I had shrimp balls Parmigiana over angel hair with medium sauce, my brother ordered eggplant rollatini. As good as ever! It's my "go-to" whenever I visit L.I.
