We dined at That's Amore this past week for the first time--friends had recommended it enthusiastically. We dined shortly after their Sunday opening (4 pm) and the place really only began to fill as we were leaving. We had a table at the back by the window which gave a striking view of downtown Seattle and Puget Sound (at a distance).The menu offered a number of very interesting choices, most all combining pasta (which tasted as if it were home made) with various meats, fish or vegetables. We settled on the wild boar ragu and parpadelle and scampi carbonara. In both cases the flavors were well balanced and the portions generous without being overwhelming. We passed on the interesting salad offerings--the grilled pear with greens and gorgonzola was very tempting. The menu also offered calzones, pizza and other italian themed fare which, if it is as good as the entrees we enjoyed would be another reason to visit.We concluded with two dolce items--a tiramisu and an almond/raspberry tart, both excellent, although we have learned over the years that no two restaurants' tiramisu will be the same. The meal was accompanied by an excellent San Giovese Riserva. The wine list offerings were varied, including the option of a carafe of Montepulciano. Prices for reds ran from about $42 to $95 and the whites were in the mid-30s. The restaurant occupies one shop in a traditional "streetcar neighborhood shopping strip" Parking is on the street and could, perhaps, at times require a short walk. Visitors to Seattle staying downtown could use the #14 Mount Baker bus to 31st Avenue South and Massachusetts--then walk back about a block. A chance to see some of Seattle's interesting neighborhoods--and the Mount Baker ridge area where the restaurant is located is a pleasant one.Service was attentive and responsive to our requests as to timing. The ambient sound level was low--with only three other parties at the time; I suspect a full house would produce an acoustic impact.To sum up, we thought That's Amore to be a genuine "find"

Our meal at this restaurant was one of the worst we have had in quite a while. The pasta (supposedly Alfredo) was tasteless, the carrot cake was topped with a greasy mess that was supposed to be icing, the cheesecake was waxy and inedible. The salad was good and the dressing was ok, the pizza was edible. Vegetarian can be a whole lot better! Don't waste your money.

Everything that we had was very good to excellent - antipasti plate, brussel sprouts, pasta and short ribs. But not inexpensive with the bill being over $150 for two without wine or drinks. Antipasti plate was substantial and delicious - highly recommended. Brussel sprouts were seared and scrumptious. Pasta was filled with squash and almost dessert-like. Short ribs were okay but the mushroom gravy and polenta were the best I have ever had. Service was adequate. We were sitting in a very drafty location and every time the door opened we would get a gust of cold wind - not very pleasant. They need to install a wind screen to divert the cold air.

Maybe because it is lunch, the pasta I ordered seems to be a little under sized than expected. I ordered a ginger orange prawn with linguine, and the flavor is quite unconventional and not bad. They are said to be most famous for the bread there. But the pogacha looks to have a bit thick crust than a flat bread. The service is not very impressive. The waitress did not show any smile. Good thing is they have enough parking in front. They also have 3-course dinner on Wed and Thur which seems to be a good deal from the menu.

We met with family and they picked this place to go. We shared meatballs as an appetizer and a pizza. The meatballs were good (not great) but we really enjoyed the pizza. We were there at an off time so only another table or two were in there. So service was attentive. Only complaint was that it is so noisy in there. I can't imagine how loud it must be when it is full of laughing, talking-loud people. It was almost empty and too loud for me.Nice outdoor area to sit when set-up. Well decorated and clean. Parking might be a challenge, but we walked to the location.There was a good selection of items on the menu. We will check them out again.

This authentic Neopolitan pizza place had something for everyone! Starting with good beer and cocktails, moving to awesome appetizers and salads, to perfect pizza the eating experience was amazing. Traditional appetizers like bruschetta and charcuterie boards with fresh mozzarella were good. The marinated beets with red onion, goat cheese, and pistachios was divine. The crusts were absolutely fabulous. Wood fired with the perfect chew. Vieni a mangiare!

This is the pizza I like: Fresh ingredients, thin crust, slightly burned on the edges. Food was amazing and only overshadowed by the loud people next to me. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back!

What a fun and pretty spot! Much less formal than their famous Seattle sister restaurant.Service was exceptionally good. Appetizer salads were delicious - especially the Caprese. Seafood is a standout here and if you enjoy pasta this is the place to load up on it! We sat in the dining area of the bar - not conducive to good conversation because of the noise level.
