Lovely Italian restaurant close to Lake Maggiore. Excellent menu with a number of dishes using local fish from the lake. Wine list was perfectly good whilst not being massive (personally I like this as it limits the time needed to make a decision). My wife had a lovely asparagus tart as an anti pasta (asparagus being in season) whilst I (unknowingly) had a beautiful vegetarian lasagne. The lake fish of the day was beautiful. All accompanied by a bottle of Gavi.

Our host at the b&b recommended this place as non touristy, and we weren't disappointed. Fabulous seafood and lake fish, expertly cooked. Extensive wine list which was really good value, and a wonderful staff.

We stopped by La Bruma a week ago for lunch. It was a beautiful day and the terrace was bustling; consequently, service was a bit slow, albeit professional enough. We sat next to a table that looked like it might be dirty, but had a tablecloth draped over it.I ordered entrecote, which was served lukewarm with roasted potatoes and was a little bit gristly. I got the sense that it sat for a few minutes before it reached the table, which isn't unexpected given how busy the waitress was. My husband had a salmon dish with cauliflower mayonnaise that he enjoyed, although he said it was a bit salty. Bread was brought out, but it didn't not appear to be homemade. We did enjoy a lovely bottle of wine and our desserts were excellent. I had a chocolate souffle and my husband had what appeared to be a deconstructed cheesecake in a glass.I noticed a couple of people having spaghetti and I kind of wished I'd ordered that. It looked very good. All in all, it wasn't a terrible experience, but there was some room for improvement. The inside of the restaurant is very nice, though.

A unique italian experience on the shores of Lake Maggiore, from the moment you step in the Hostaria La Speranza you are transported into a luxurious setting with a great attention to details. Fabrizia the owner welcomes you warmly and guides you through the menu. Starters are second to none for variety and taste but the best dish we had was a wonderful Barbaresco Risotto.Highly recommended and one of the restaurants I will always book in when in the area.

After some good research our group of ten settled on this for a wonderful lunch on a drizzly afternoon. We had the entire rustic veranda to ourselves with matchless service as prize for being the only lunch time customers. Even with the drizzle the views over Lesa and to Lago Maggiore were worth the tricky drive to this restaurant. Now for the food: in a word fabulous. With our large group we were able to sample a large part of the menu. As one would expect, the pastas are deliciously hand-made. The Gnocchi were especially good. Main courses include fish, meat and game. The veal was superbly prepared with herbs. Topping it off was a lighter than air Tiramisu. This was the best restaurant we tried in Lesa and worth the effort to find it. Do not pass this up when in the area.

Recommended by a foreigner who used to live in the area, this enchanting âtrattoriaâ is located in the upper hills by lake Maggiore at the Piedmont region side (close to Stresa area southern)....Driving uphill there are many horseback ridding schools, if wanted is possible to stop and allow the kids to have some horseback ridding... there are easy directions to this restaurant. As located in nature areas, parking is not an issue. Some walk before arriving to this restaurant. The whole complex used to be a monastery; as most places they have indoor and outdoor seating, the highlight of this place is the outdoor seating so try to come on a sunny or clear day (no rain). The view from the terrace to the lake is superb... Their menu is limited but portions served are plentiful; lots of starters like cold cuts (salami, ham) and varied pickles; dishes are mainly polenta with whatever choice wanted (veal, beef, mushrooms). The housewine was not bad (Barbera)We were preparing about getting an expensive bill (in a place like this) but we were surprised, in reality not expensive, has quite a good quality-ratio-value. After meals (or before meals) can have a nice walk around the area, not so much to see... If staying on the Piedmont side of lake Maggiore (Stresa, Verbania) this is a good and interesting place to have a meal and to visit other attractions of this area (Villa Pallavicino, etc. etc.)

This restaurant is very popular and booking essential. Time should be left to find a car-parking space as well! The view is towards the east over Lake Maggiore. Service was attentive and the locally made breads were excellent. The octopus leg was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The raviolis were good as a secundi. The main tempura vegetable and fish dish was huge and the tempura slightly on the thick side. The other main course was slightly under-seasoned for my taste.A pleasant evening as acouple enjoying nice food on the lakeside

We were guests here and we were very pleasantly surprised by the incredible degree of elasticity and cooperation from the chef. He gave us all kinds of choices (even in what water to boil fennels!!!) that are normally not offered to restaurant guests.Ingredients were local and of high quality and one could say that it was tantamount to a trip in time, back to the very roots of the Piedmontese cuisine.Quite an experience! The one lacking star is because getting there is not easy and the front of the house is quite Spartan in decor. But do go there for the food and you will certainly not regret it.

I have been hearing about this place for a few months now so we have decided to test it out. We had family sunday lunch with small birthday celebration. The menu was excellent offering good variety of dishes. Not too many dishes as I get suspicious whether products are fresh. It has offered a diverse choice suitable to all tastes and the products were certainly fresh and carefully selected. The wine choice was also very good (pity I was designated driver but my husband has indulged). The highlight was maialino dish; very tender and juicy. Compliments to the chef.We had three/four course meal at very reasonable price. Superior quality, lovely interior and super nice service. It was our first visit but certainly not the last. We loved it :-)Thank you! Sorry for my bad english but i desire to answer you. I wait you and your family to taste our specialities that change every month and the special menu for the event like next woman's day or Easter or to taste our new Young proposal IL GIROPASTA
