Well I was a bit surprised by the Dante inspired sign but food wise the greeting is correct. For the lover of San Daniele ham (a little bit saltier than Parma ham) there are few better places than Bagatto.Founded in 1961 they offer their own cured ham, a wide selection of cheese and some local wines. Salame, Speck and other cured hams are also sold. The quality is outstanding. The slices are paper thin. They also offer vacuum packed sealed trays of 5 to 10 slices which will last for weeks until opened.Mozzarella from Friuli has a different taste from the mozzarella from Campania or Puglie. Most definitely worth the visit. We also had lunch there eating prociutto (what else??), some different cheeses and prosecco.Truly excellent and worth going back to again.

Came here to stop for lunch. They don't have a full menu (only some ham platters with cheese options). Can't have a full lunch but an excellent place for ham + wine + perhaps some cheese. Nice setting, can sit outdoors in nice weather. Nice and friendly people

A nostro parere qui si mangia realmente bene pagando il giusto. Da sottolineare, fra l'altro, la cortesia e la professionalità del personale... certamente torneremo... grazie!

Go here. Two things to do when in San Daniele in Friuli and one is hungry...eat the prosciutto and the tagliolini alla San Daniele. One thing to note is that the restaurants have their own supplier of prosciutto. Tancredi not only has a supplier of San Daniele's best, but they make the ABSOLUTE best tagliolini alla San Daniele (linguini-like pasta with the prosciutto in a cream sauce) . If you like something "fishy" yet delicate, their baccalà Vicentino is nothing but exquisite. Their house red, a Merlot, is smooth, suttle, and to finish off their home made cakes, such as torta alle mele is divine. Bravi, anzi, bravissimi.

The place is nice, food is ok... My idea for this place is simple, Ingredient are great but the dishes do not give what they suppose to. I strongly hope this place gets better and improve soon but for now: I see only the potential to be an amazing place. I will check again!Dear Devvsninja, thank you very much for your comment. Hope to see you soon again at our resaurant, best regards, Integraldo

We have eaten twice at Centopassi and I unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone looking for classic local food served by a delightful team. The menu includes the local speciality, prosciutto crudo and other favourites such as orzo fagioli, frico and risotto but also more sophisticated dishes. The buffet provides a great way to taste the real Friuli. Look out also for the cheeses and sweets. The wine is particularly good value and allow space for a grappa which is exceptional. This is now probably the best restaurant in central San Daniele.

Placed in the middle of the countryside between Fagagna and Majano, this farm holiday was a very good discovery. The ambient is very rustic, essential but very clean. Paper tablecloths, unbreakable glasses, dishes that seem to belong to a kitchen more than to a restaurant but in this place fit perfectly. When you sit at the table you have the feeling to be dining in the kitchen of your grandmother. The service is made by the two owners that treat you with kindness, courtesy and warmth. There is not menu in this place, only fresh daily ingredients that are cooked with great cleverness by the cook so you can try something different day by day.The particularity of this place is that even if this is a farm there is not meat in their menu. They cook only vegetarian food and if you want to try something different this is the right place for you.Their dishes are rich in tastes even if they use poor ingredients like barley, pumpkin, cabbage, celeriac, aubergines, potatoes, some cheese and many other garden flavours. The house wine is not bad.If you don't know what to experience (especially for mains) you can ask to have a try of all their dishes. If you feel hungry you can (why not?) order all the dishes they offer and I assure you will not remain nor unsatisfied or still hungry.portions, however, are generous and you can dine without overdoing. My friends and me we tried almost everything and we eat very good. We will come back for have an experience also for the homemade cakes that we didn't try.The prices are very good. We paid about 20⬠per person (a portion of everything for all of us plus wine, water and stirrup cup).A local absolutely recommended.

Restaurant Carnia is situated on the SS13 just north of the strip mall Carnia Market. The restaurant is part of Hotel Restaurant Carnia. We stopped there several times for coffee and a sandwich at the Bar section. I must say, the Restaurant Carnia has a very relaxed atmosphere and is very inviting. Sitting at the outside tables and watching the traffic pass by on the SS13 stress dissolves like magic. The Bar prices are moderate; food prices in the restaurant are somewhat elevated. However, you will be received with authentic Friulan cuisine. Service of the staff is polite and hospitable. The bathrooms in the basement are roomy and clean. A good stop whether for lunch, dinner or drink with a sandwich at the bar. Next time in the neighborhood we will definitively sit down for lunch.Dear guest, thank you very much for the time you spent to write the review and thank you for the kinds words. We hope you will come to visiting us soon.Best RegardsGiuliana

Ideally located opposite the duomo in the centre of the town the restaurant has terrace tables and an indoor bar and tables. A cut above everything else around. Innovative menu including vegetarian, vegan and meat dishes including, of course, the local proscuttio in large portions priced at pennies. The best pasta I have ever eaten - and I have eaten plenty. Home made pasta with a tomato, olive and herb sauce unparalleled anywhere. With the antipasto, their own baked bread, a local baked dish similar to but tastier than pizza, innovative deserts impossible to leave hungry.Chef came to talk to us a number of times and has enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff.Restaurant recommended two different wines and what was truly amazing was the ultra low price for the whole evening. I wish I could dine here often.
