Strengths: Attentive staff; small intimate restaurant; will seat groups of 6-10; only 30 people in whole place. All the food was excellent and I mean really high quality; its a fixed menu; nice opening starter; relzed antipasta platter; the cheese pasta with trufffles is simply phenomenal; all the meat entrees were great.Opportunies: Ventaliation. The management needs to take seriously the need to get fresh air into the restaurant. Put a small vent above the door.

On the assumption that this entry in Tripadvisor now refers to the Pizzeria named "Il Fornaccio" at Mülheimer Str. 50, 51375 Leverkusen, I can contest that the pizzas are excellent here. This establishment is one of the smallest restaurants that I have been to in a long while. With a (small) handful of chairs and three or four tables this place is really quite intimate - in our case we ordered directly from our table to the young lady behind the counter. There is an excellent choice of thin crusted pizzas which are literally baked before your eyes. What I found rather disturbing was the high level of noise both in the "kitchen" area and whenever new customers came in, many of whom were picking up take away orders. I found it difficult to concentrate on our lunchtime chatting with a background of clattering plates and shouts of "Ciao Bella" as each new customer stepped over the threshold. And this is a popular, hence busy place. So for a quick, no nonsense lunchtime snack this place is great. For something more substantial I would go elsewhere.

My business colleague and I thought that we'd try out this little restaurant on a quiet Monday evening. The reception was very friendly and efficient. We ordered the house Chianti red wine which was very drinkable as we waited for the Carpaccio starters to arrive. The small dish of olives as nibbles had a surprisingly interesting kick to them. Very moorish! The starter was delicious and we then waited in anticipation for the main course - knuckle of lamb with noodles. To be honest we were a little disappointed with the small size of the mini sheep from which the knuckles had obviously been removed. I certainly finished feeling like I could have eaten the rest of the lamb. After another round of Chianti (which we didn't end up paying for) we asked for the bill. Apparently I was stupid enough to neglect to ask for a full invoice (which I needed) and there followed a protracted discussion which soured our whole evening. I left without the invoice I needed & thinking that it will be some time before I repeat this particular experience...

We recently returned to the Tempi Moderni on a quiet Sunday evening - this time as a big party of 9 family and friends for a birthday celebratory dinner. We had booked in advance but business was slow on this evening just before the start of the working week. We were provided a seat in the long front window which was nice both for our group as well as providing great advertising to passers by. Without going into too much detail the food was generally very good even though some members of our party were a little disappointed by the modest portions. In contrast my special pizza was completely laden with loads parma ham which was absolutely delicious even though the pizza base was uncommonly dry & crispy. The service was unobtrusive and friendly. At the end of the meal the birthday girl received some pralines on the house which was nice. For such a large group, however, we thought that a free grappa or ramazotti as a parting gesture for the adults would have been appropriate. Never mind.

Our large party of international colleagues descended on Fellini's one weekday evening recently. We were warmly welcomed and directly to a large table at the back of the restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and patiently explained everything we needed to know in the way of drinks and the blackboard specials in good English. I started with a Kölsch and then quickly moved onto red wine. For starters we all shared large platters of antipasti. For the main course most of us chose from the special menu. I went for the veal steak which was delicious. I have to say that the service did tend to be a little slow and none of us ordered any dessert as the time was getting the better of us. We finished the evening with a variety of coffees. But all in all I was pleased to discover this Italian restaurant at the top end of Wiesdorf located on the main street (Hauptstrasse) almost exactly opposite the Topos jazz club.

The restaurant is not located in the most charming part of Leverkusen and it does not look very appealing from the outside, but the Mille Lire is definitely worth a try. The pizza I had was really good and I paid less than 10⬠for the pizza and two drinks.
