Have eaten here before a show at the cliffs pavilion and it was great, but this time the service left a lot to be desired, we had to ask for our drinks 3 or 4 times, I ordered a desert and waited almost 40 minutes by which time it was getting too late to eat, so when I said cancel it and give me the bill the waiter disappeared behind the bar and came back with my desert. We were not the only ones to notice this, the couple beside us waited ages for there order to even be taken and the table the other side where without drinks for a long time also. The food was great, but if they can't sort out these issues then they are going to start to loose customers,

Route5 was born from our passion for good food and fine dining and from our will to open a place where the high tradition of Sicily and Abruzzi cuisine blends. All fresh pastas, bread and desserts are made in our kitchen following true regional traditions
This restaurant is incredible. The food, the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff were all great. Our party were transported back to Sicily where we had enjoyed a lovely holiday last year. As the restaurant is small it can be a bit noisy but this is a sure sign that the diners are all enjoying themselves! I too would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Food was lovely, four of us. Three of us had fish dishes, one had a lasagne. Our meals were full platefuls but th3 lasagne seemed small and wasnât served with any veg, salad or bread. The wine, medium, not the best,to out palate, somewhat thin, not much body to the white wine we had, which was not the house one.Unfortunately unbeknown to us, it was carnival night and many of the roads were blocked off. This resulted in my friends husband ringing to say he couldnât make it as stuck in traffic having been diverted. He eventually made it, after a long walk from where he had parked. Ok, carnival, only 1 night a year but the restaurant didnât know either. These reviews do not ask about the drinks experience, which for many is an important aspect of the dining experience. The wine, whilst shown to my partner before serving, was shown with the label the wrong way round . Again to a wine buff, an important point which wouldn't have mattered if the waitress had not been obviously displeased at being asked to turn it the right way.

Been here a number of times and always had a good meal. This time however it was a disappointment. Instead of going A'la Carte we decided to opt for the Set Menu two courses for £19.95.I had Whitebait and my wife had the mushroom - both good. It was the main course that was not up too the usual standard. We both had the escalope of pork which arrived within 30 seconds of our starters being cleared and I wonder how much fresh cooking was involved. We like vegetables al dente but ours were close to being uncooked. The rest of the meal was acceptable but needed salt and pepper, it lacked seasoning. All together a bit disappointing.Next time we will eat a la carte. As always the staff are friendly and efficient.

Padrino is a fully licensed traditional Italian restaurant boasting a picturesque view of the Seafront within short walking distance from the Cliffs Pavilion. We pride ourselves for being an independent establishment with a combined experience in Italian
Appeared a lovely restaurant and the food was nice, what let it down slightly was that there was no atmosphere, maybe because we were the only customers the entire time? The staff also very chatty amongst themselves just standing around (there must of been something they could of been doing?) a bit more than I would say was appropriate. All in all would come back but would be the last time if the lack of atmosphere hadnât improved.

Iâve had a couple of take-aways from here recently - one was delivered, the other I collected. The service is cold and not especially welcoming. The four cheese sauce for the pasta is far from cheesy, the pasta is not fresh; however, the cheese garlic-bread is amazing! The food is cheap and hot and if youâre after something quick, then will suffice. I think they excel in their breads and piadinas.

We used to visit flying pasta a lot however that seems to have changed hands or moving? Rumours, no idea. Anyway, we tried La Sirena a year back with some friends and have since returned every other month as it is superb. Loads of character and great good. Beer prices very reasonable, wine not bad price but good quality. GREAT food. See you very soon.

Tiny and cosy unpretentious and perfect little Italian serving delicious food. If we lived locally (which sadly we don't) we would be regulars. A real pleasure to have gone, and the next time we are in Southend we will be there again. No wonder the reviews are so good.
