Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Lausanne. Lausanne was once an intellectual capital, attracting great thinkers such as Rousseau and Voltaire. Today it is a haven for those who love water skiing, swimming and sailing. The International Olympic Committee is even headquartered here. The town's history is evident, though, in its medieval cathedral, the museums of the Palais de Rumine, and Ouchy, the port where Lord Byron wrote "The Prisoner of Chillon" and the Treaty of Lausanne was ratified. For great views, hike up to the Signal de Sauvabelin.

The place is nice and has been around for a long time so you feel very homey. The food however is quite basic, at times disappointing and definitely not what I would consider a flagship of Italian cuisine. I had a very chewy fish with a sauce I doubt was home made. The service was good but overall I found the place very average.

Invited to a group dinner in Lausanne, was impressed by the service and the food. Wine list was not mega extensive, but a few little gems in the list. The only drawback was the acoustics, a small table of females arrived, and literally we couldn't hear ourselves over the racket! Would go again as the food was very good.... Dear guest thanks a lot for your visit. I am sorry for the noisy. I hope to see you again in our restaurant. best regards

First visit at La Poesia. At first sight, you would not bet on it as the location is below average (and parking is an issue) but once you push the door, you enter a lovely universe. Really a positive surprise. Food is fresh and tasty, and portions are very generous. Staff is friendly; kudos to Francesco, who's dynamism, positive attitude and humor added that little something to our evening.

Their stake is perfect and the staff is very cheerful and friendly. I saw some other meals around us that looked amazing and the other guests also enjoyed eating there. Everything there is authentic Italian, the ambiance and the staff as well. The waiter offered a nice wine, they have plenty of good wines. The food is a bit expensive but still a reasonable price for the quality, absolutely recommended

One of my favourite places in Lausanne. The food is always excellent, the service good. Good wine list and menu selections. Try to sit in the back room or if in the nicer weather definitely on the patio. Some items have two servings so I would ask as you well be surprised by the generous portions. Go itâs worth it.

Our friend referred us to this wonderful small restaurant in Lausanne. From the moment you enter, you get a great vibe, lots Italian being spoken.Small bar serving all drinks.Service excellent. We started with very good Aperol Spritz and a nice white wine. The salads were beautifully fresh, and a seafood platter of octopus calamari ect.very good! The two pasta dishes were spectacular one with calamari and a sauce. The second with swordfish and calamari both spectacular! The tiramisu was divine. We highly recommend this restaurant.

A great Italian restaurant. Our picks were: octopus and tartare as starters, both delicious; red ravioli and gnocchi as main course, also great. We finished with cheese cake with chocolate and hazelnuts from Piemonte. Friendly service; we felt like at home. Will definitely come back any time we are there. It is a good investment to get out from most touristic areas and come here; thereâs a bus stop 2â away.

we went because of the review on tripadvisor. Having climbed the stairs to the cathedral we were slightly disappointed to see the menu for vegetarians as pasta can be so "meh" but were loath to walk back down to find somewhere else. And how glad we were that we went in - small restaurant, lovely hostess/waitress and the pasta was fabulous. So pleased we went.We are glad to read your various compliments concerning our restaurant and the food menu. your satisfaction is our best reward. Grazie, grazie, grazie !!Stella et Roberto

At Le Tandem, you'll find more than meets the eye. The food is good and the experience terrific. Owner Augustus Natale waited on us himself this quiet Wednesday night in October. He features Italian specialties including some recipes handed down by his Sicilian mother. His English is sufficient, but if you speak Italian, he opens up completely. He loves the U.S. and has brothers in N.J. We were treated to a complimentary bruschetta as an amuse bouche and thoroughly enjoyed our grilled calamari. Wine by the glass was of high quality and fair price. Topping the dinner off with grappa was a perfect end to our time in Lausanne, and Sig. Natale made the evening memorable.

The Ciao restaurant is a Ttattoria with a twist offering a delicious selection of Italian dishes in a relax atmosphere.
Great service coupled with a nice meal of caprese salad and prosciutto di parma and arugala pizza. Close to Ouchy metro spot. Lausanneâs metro is awesome.
