Reviews on Italian food in Lake Como, Lombardy, Italy. A gorgeous spot that’s a convenient day trip from Milan, Lake Como recently earned fame as home to Hollywood star George Clooney. But celeb-spotting aside, it’s known for jaw-dropping natural beauty, elegant old villas—and the scenic towns surrounding the lake. Check out Varenna, Bellagio, and Menaggio, which offer great views, historic churches, and water-based activities such as ferries and passenger-only boats.

Nel centro di Como dal 04 Maggio 2018 il nuovo ristorante di tradizione italiana con selezione Vegetariana | Vegana In cucina i migliori chef.
My husband and I came here on Monday night during our lake como visit. The restaurant has a very cute, family, cozy atmosphere. The other customers seem to be local rather than tourists. We ordered two pasta dishes and another secondi dish, and we LOVED their pasta. I LOVE pasta and I sometimes find pasta too salty, but not this one. It was al Dante and the sauce was amazing. It was actually one of the best that Iâve ever had. I am still thinking about it today. Also, the owner and the waiter (not sure if it was his son) was very kind and the service was great.Highly recommend this place!

Cross the doors of this place forgotten by time, immerse yourself in the truest past, become part of the history of Lezzeno and of Risorgimento Italy. In the serene quiet of Lezzeno, just a step away from the crowded Bellagio, we offer you traditional Lom
Delicious food, with a beautiful outdoor area. Wonderful and gracious staff who even gave us a tour of the wine cellar and a history lesson on what is possibly the oldest restaurant in Europe. The staff and I thank you for your words. Old and young in the same time: we reopened on June 20th. We are proud to have had you as customers

I made a reservation weeks before we arrived in Italy, based on a very positive review by a recognized restauranteur in the Washington, DC metro area. We were thrilled to arrive (6 hours late) after our delayed flight from Newark, grabbing a ferry from Bellagio to Varenna and then huffing and puffing our way up the hill to Il Cavatappi, working off the calories we would eat a bit later.Loved the size and decor of the interior, which seats 14 diners and there are an additional 3-4 tables outside, in the alley. Understated and tasteful, the dining room is warm and one side of the dining room allows a view of the chef and sous chef hard at work. Ricardo and Guiseppe are co-owners and have been at this location for 6 of their 22 years as owners. My husband RAVED about his pasta with duck ragout, declaring it the best pasta he has ever tasted.....and we have pretty good Italian food in NJ and NY. He cleaned his bowl, which is highly unusual. My burrata with oils and diced tomatoes was almost too beautiful to eat, but somehow I polished off the entire thing, rationalizing that because I have celiac disease, I was going to get my fill of rich cheese in lieu of gluten-free pasta. We loved the vibe of Il Cavatappi and I was very touched that they had a selection of gluten-free crackers they brought to me, when they delivered my husband's bread basket. Very thoughtful. I do wish there was some way they could offer a GF pasta, as it is very difficult to crave the special sauces you create and not be able to have them over pasta, due to a disease (which is not fun to have in the first place). It would be a nice addition to your already impressive cuisine and hospitality. Great meal. Beautiful decor. Grazie.

My husband & I dined here for our 1st wedding anniversary after finding other reviews on Trip Advisor. We were staying in Nesso, so it was a good 45 minute drive, but was worth it. The drive took us in land, where we were able to enjoy other scenery other than the lake. When we arrived we didn't know what to expect from the outside view, which is more or less a door in the side of a wall, however, inside was lovely. It had it's own style, which was a little of everything, & worked on every level. The owner, who was also the chef came to us & helped to translate the menu, we speak little Italian. My husband is a veggie, & he was able to tell us about the meat free dishes. Both our meals were amazing. My husband having cheese to start & homemade fresh pasta with red wine sauce, I had duck to start & steak with a stilton sauce. All the food was amazing, it was fresh, homemade where it could be & delicious. We opted for a white wine, which again was very good. Over all, it was a fabulous experience, wonderful food, with great personal service. The atmosphere was romantic, cosy, & personal. We couldn't recommend this restaurant enough, & encourage a visit during your stay around Lake Como.

Best sandwich Iâve eaten! The choice of different types of ham and salami is impressive; youâre taken through an explanation of each, all of which, they point out, are not available commercially. I had the parma ham on panini, with a local brie-like cheese, and tomatoes. The bread was fresh with just the right crunch. At 5 euros, it was good value as well. There are many reasons to visit Como, and this little sandwich shop is another.

We found this restaurant following a recommendation on Facebook. The chef/proprietor was previously the chef at the Royal Victoria and we had been impressed with his culinary skills. We were shown to our table in the charming courtyard under plane trees and soft lights. The staff were courteous and friendly and explained the menu knowledgeably and with enthusiasm. The extensive wine list featured many excellent local wines including a stunning Nebbiolo from Mamete Prevostini. My starter was Tagliatelle with Prawns and Wild Mushrooms in a delicate delicious sauce - stunning - and my wife had pasta with lobster and a bisque. Main courses were veal with truffles and pate and my wife chose fish which she declared to be delicious. The portions were ample so we shared a dessert. As the meal ended both chefs visited each table to receive feedback. This is a feature that I always admire as it shows that the staff are keen to maintain high standards.Highly recommended.Dear Customer, his positive review fills us with satisfaction.Thank you from all the Locanda Capolago Staff

Saw this was highly rated on tripadvisor and it didnât disappoint! The sandwiches were super tasty, with a really good selection and all very reasonably priced. The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly, spotted we werenât Italian from a mile off and instantly apologised for there not being an English menu, but he offered to translate and answer any questions.molte grazie per la splendida recensione, siamo veramente contenti che vi siano piaciuti i nostri prodotti.quando vorrete tornare...vi aspettiamo

Welcome to La cucina del pontile! The restaurant, located in a small village in Lake Como, enjoys a breathtaking view, offering unmissable sunsets. Its excellent location is easily accessible by car, bus or ferry. The picturesque promenade along the lake
The view speaks for itself, this is the beautiful part of Lake Como after all! The food is exquisite, interesting dishes home-cooked from fresh ingredients - simple yet full of flavour. A refreshing change from the "standard" Italian menu, and free from all the dressy touches that seem to prevail these days. Service is unobtrusive but efficient; dishes are brought to the table as soon as they are cooked, rather than being kept hanging around on the pass waiting until the whole table can be served together. Some may not like this. The family and staff may appear a bit reserved at first - regulars know better, they are delightful - but you may have to give a smile to get one.And to the reviewer who calls this a bad restaurant because they wouldn't allow his dog in, I can assure you that dogs are allowed in (a fault in my book as I hate to see dogs in restaurants) so there must have been some reason.........I'd suggest a return visit without the dog as you are missing a treat.

Cozy, romantic restaurant offering elegantly simple Italian cuisine on the eastern shore of central Lake Como.
Had a great dinner there, it was expensive but worth every eurocent, starting with complimentary appetizers through the main fish dishes and dessert. Great wine selection. Exceptional service, perfect (native?) English spoken. The location a bit off the main drag and across a street from the lake did not seem as good as more central restaurants but it turned out very quiet and cozy there. Recommended!
