Lovely outdoor dining next to a field of grape vines. We had a delicious dinner here. Excellent octopus starter, spaghetti allo scoglio, and mixed grilled seafood. Interesting twists on the usual desserts too.

I have lived in Italy for the last 6 years and I guess I am now starting to know what good Italian food taste like. ie you can trust me. Being fed up with the same old menu at our agriturismo next to Caldana, we wanted to experiment some simple, earthy, tasty, old fashion Tuscan dishes, so we drove to the town next door and stumbled across "Boccaccio" by chance. Right from the start, we felt really welcome by Sandro and his mother. The food was really good and the price was right. We enjoyed the experience so much that we came back the next day for another lunch and realized that 2 dishes were added to the menu; a duck and a pork chop dish. So we went for those and were really happy with them. The pork chop was huge and from a sort of semi-wild black pig famous in the area. It was delicious to a point that I can't recall the last time I had a pork chop that tasted that good. The duck was also pretty awesome with home made jam and a special sauce that went really well with it. It is also important to note that for both lunches, our kid (who is such a fussy eater) was delighted with the food they prepared for him and when the bill came, I told them they forgot to charge for our son's food, they replied that it was offered. I mean who does that? I have been to many restaurants in Tuscany and most of the time it is good, but "Boccaccio" really tick all the boxes. We will be back as this is the real deal!Siete stati una compagnia squisita. La vera questione è che avete un figlio splendido e simpaticissimo. A presto in Maremma !!

I ate here with my wife and daughter and it was the best meal we had on our visit to Tuscany. Both the food and service were excellent and we would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. We all had seafood and I have attached a couple of pictures to show how good it looked as well

Open from 200.7 in Caldana, in the heart of the metalliferous hills of Maremma. The La Gricia well as offering a typical local cuisine,, wisely elaborates the classic Romanesque kitchen. The restaurant has an attractive terrace. The use of superior qualit
One of the best meat dishes I've had for a long time.....two friendly maitre'd's, one with excellent English......but very slow......wouldn't recommend with lots of kids or in a hurry......with time on your hand, then great.

We have been driving past this restaurant for the last 6 months or so, as we have been working in the area, but only visited it for the first time last week. What a lovely suprise! From the outside the place looks large and cavernous but inside it is warm and cosy. Our charming waiter gave us a warm welcome and was very helpful explaining the dishes available on the menu and suggesting local red wines.I had the Sformato of Aubergine in a sauce of peas to start-delicious, and then King Prawns with Vin Santo and a Cauliflower Flan. The dishes are done with some flair and are a little different from the usual standard fare of this area. A homemade Torta di Nonna was delicious again just a little more special than your average. We enjoyed our experience so much that we are hoping to visit again this evening-I would say a do not miss if you are in the area.
