The choice is limited but the food is surprisingly good and the prices are moderate. The exterior looks like a fast food chain but it is quite nice inside. You can chose from pizza, pasta or meat. Even the beer is moderately priced. I just found the service incredibly slow.

Jine's ambience was perfect; classy but laid back.Menu offerings were very difficult to choose from, which is unusual! The food was of excellent quality, perfectly balanced taste combinations. Our server, Phillip was excellent. Helpful and friendly without being saccharin-sweet or overbearing. Nice meeting others who are obviously passionate about their job. :)We went back for brunch the next day. Sat on their lovely terrace. Equally as perfect.Wish like hell Jine was closer to our home in Karlsruhe. We would be frequent flyers for sure. 2 happy fans: Lydia & Sharon

Simple pizza take away away and home delivery service. Friendly service. Large choice of pizza's in two sizes: normal and small. Don't take the small version if you are hungry. The pizza's we tasted were excellent and surprising.

Stopped in the village of St-Avold after visiting the American Cemetery nearby. This place was great! More modern decor but very friendly staff and helpful when we were not as fluent in French as we should have been for the region. The food was excellent. Plat du jour (sausage and pasta) was well worth price and others had a tasty lasagna, salad and salad with crepe were all complemented as very good. Service was quick (although we were in no hurry) and the prices were very reasonable. We would recommend to anyone passing through the region.

Lovely restaurant (that does take-away too) where we recently stopped on our travels to Italy. I was very impressed with the food and service. Lovely, family run place with beautiful decor in the restaurant itself.

I don't want to get off to a bad start by putting Freyming-Merlebach down but initial impressions weren't great. For us it was just an overnight stop and a desperate search for somewhere decent to eat after a 10 hr drive.Well, we chose right when we decided to visit La Scala. The approach is a little difficult especially if you try and follow your sat-nav; it's not quite on the roundabout but just off a road that's right on the roundabout so you might end up doing a "turn left, turn left, turn left" to get there but when you do finally arrive you won't regret it.The food is reasonably standard Italian fair but the quality is unquestionable. Nice little touch with the fresh olives and savoury doughnut style nibbles to start before the main course. The main dishes were incredibly tasty and very filling; portion size is not an issue. But for us the best part was the staff. We had a wonderful waiter who after a brief discussion agreed that his English was as good as my French but didn't stop us having a great, fun, enjoyable evening. Some places rely on their food, some rely on their service; we found that La Scala had a good mix of both and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. If you find yourself in Freyming-Merlebach looking for somewhere to eat and enjoy a lovely wine then I do recommend La Scala for their lovely food and wonderful staff.Merci tout le mond.
