My husband and I read about Matthewâs Pizzeria in the special section in the Baltimore SunPaper.Matthewsâs was rated the top place to eat pizza in Baltimore. We couldnât wait to dine there after the article. Wow, what a pizza. The pizza was unlike anything I have ever experienced. My pizza was also luscious. I know what you thinking luscious pizza believe me it was superb. Customers visit Matthewâs from all over the U.S. to dine on the delicious pizza. The awards line the walls of the Pizzeria. The Pizzeria has been written up in various newspapers and magazines. Matthewâs Pizzeria is a small quaint place. Authentic Venetian style Italian cooking featuring local produce as well as being one of the only restaurants in little Italy that can say that 100% of our pasta is home-made fresh in house, which includes gluten-free and vegan pasta which allows us to ac
Business trip and leaving the next day so we didn't want a lot of leftover food. Very accommodating 1/2 orders and terrific, homemade pasta and locally-sourced foods. Wednesdays are half-priced wines. Magnifico!
I was a customer for over 30 years. I started getting orders that were missing items. If it is after 9 PM forget about getting them to bring what they forgot. You are just out of luck. After this happened several times I called to voice my concerns and was pretty much told that there was nothing that could be done to prevent this. So...I sent back their menu. still nothing. They'd rather lose a customer than fix the issue on their end. This is a carry out...not a sit in establishment.

Small restaurant with seven tables and counter but good food and service. We enjoyed some appetizers and wine then shared pizza. Food was a sty, hot and the service was good. Topped off the meal with a Nutella cream puff. Casual place for a evening meal. Would be happy to return.

Vinny's define customer service and tasty Italian dishes. Great food, great service. Five stars there. My only dislike was the level of noise. In the past, Vinny's was a quiet place for a romantic dinner. On this visit, the bar (that I never noticed before, along with the TVs playing) was loud... so loud that the piano player had to play over the level of talking, which made it even louder. I felt like I was in a sports bar, not a quiet restaurant (which are getting harder to find). Overall, I love Vinney's and I will go back, although I might have to find another place for the quiet romantic dinners.

I've only been to the Poplar Restaurant three times in the past 30 years and I just don't understand why this place is loved. I was here once in the late 80's, then again maybe 10 years later, and then just recently at a gathering while in town for a funeral. And this time was no different than the last two times. I'm not impressed. My biggest gripe is that they were not prepared for a larger group. It was only about 15 of us, but that was enough to completely overwhelm the kitchen. It took forever for the food to come out, and it came out in waves of 3 or 4 dishes at a time, so it was as if one or two cooks were only making a couple meals simultaneously. The last person to get his food had to wait 45 minutes from the time the first meal came out. That's just totally unacceptable.I ordered the bayou chicken pasta dish, and it was pretty good, as was the shrimp salad sandwich my wife ordered. Others in the group liked their food for the most part, but overall it was an average food quality experience, and a terrible service experience. It's barely 3 stars for these reasons. And I don't plan to ever go back unless I'm dragged here again like this last time.

Squireâs Italian Restaurant and Catering has offered Dundalk and Baltimore authentic and delicious Italian cuisine for over 65 years! Our recipes have been passed down for generations and each meal is made with the freshest and most flavorful ingredients.
We hadn't been to this restaurant in years. We found ourselves in the area around dinner time so we stopped in. I ordered the penne pasta with meat sauce. My husband had the gnocchi. Our very efficient server brought delicious bread and butter to our table. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the meat sauce was yummy. Also had a side order of onion rings. They were crisp and tasty. The prices here are very reasonable. We'll be back soon.

I really liked the Family feel of this place, it reminds me of a small family owned Pizza & Sub Shop in the Deep South -- The Cheesesteak was a surprise, absolutely delightful.Overall a good experience, the staff was very knowledgable and friendly, I definitely recommend this as a great dining on a budget experience.

We have been here twice now and both times the place is hopping. The pizza is good and so is the service. Your order and pick up your food at the counter and they are moving. The lady busing tables was so nice we left her a good tip. The MD crab soup is delicious. The fish platter was a bit of a disappointment for $13, It turned out to be a couple of large breaded fish sticks which had been dumped in the deep fryer, similar to what you get at McDonald's. It cam with corn and lettuce and tomato.

It seems as though we cannot be anywhere near Baltimore without making a pilgrimage to this place for some of the best Italian food around. Everything is homemade with love â from their gigantic subs and sandwiches to the best eggplant lasagna ever tasted! You can tell itâs a fabulous find since thereâs always a policeman and/or firefighter in the throng of people placing orders to eat in their dining area or simply to take out. And then, there are the cheeses, salamis, and every other specialty cold cut you could desire. We always load up on these delicacies and bring them back to Northern Virginia with us! Give it a try â youâll be very pleased â ciao!
