We popped in for a quick snack without having done our research - and it was as good as previous reviews. Excellent panini made to order, nice vernaccia and very friendly service - very good value near San Domenico.

This is a fun place with a great vibe, delicious pizza and good vino! My pizza was loaded with pancetta and my husband's with salami-there are also veggie options! The owners are friendly, it's a small hole in the wall but good spot to stop for a bite.

We loved this small family-run restaurant. They had seating outside along the steep street, but we chose to eat inside. It had a clean and modern feel. We ordered three glasses of Prosecco and a glass of the house red. Our waiter (who I think may have been the owner) was nice enough to ask us if we wanted a bottle of Prosecco for the same price. Two of us had the Tuscan Cacio e Pepe. It was amazing and done perfectly. We also had ravioli with meat sauce that my daughter said was fantastic and a pecorino stuffed spinach pasta with tomatoes, pine nuts and a white sauce that was delicious. They did not have spinach so the chef sent out grilled tomatoes. The cost was very reasonable. We would highly recommend!!Thank you!

Warm environment and welcoming atmosphere with private hall, self-produced white and red wine, labels from various areas of Tuscany, local products and dishes of Siena tradition: from delicious anchovies under pesto and the panzanella, to a really tasty t
A local osteria. Nothing fancy, just good, traditional local food. I had an excellent pici al buristo (pasta with local blood sausage) which was very tasty. Some of the food may not be for everyone, however, there is simple pasta and ragu for those that are not so adventurous. Small wine list - our bottle of chianti classico was very good. Would definitely recommend for a simple, local meal, away from the tourist crowds (and prices)

Is the brainchild of four close friends who share a passion for their territory, rich as it is in history, art and natural bounty. Together with Chef Pino, the heart and soul of our enterprise, the partners all espouse the philospophy of SLOW FOOD.
The restaurant is attached to a boutique hotel. They put a lot of effort into the presentation of their dishes but the tastes disappoint. Read the menu carefully - half of choices are marked with an asterisk which means that the main ingredient has been deep-frozen. Truffle courses are listed exclusive of the price of truffle, so they will end up costing almost the double of the listed price. They use the regular spaghetti, not the thick, fat variety, for their 'pici al ragú' and the ragu was too oily to be enjoyable. Lamb chops were perfectly cooked but, again, the crust was too greasy. The staff appeared overworked and unhappy.Dear Nik,Thank you very much for your email; we remember very well and right now, I'm thinking : You are the same people who stayed here?just because you said everything was good, you left the tips at the end and you did not speak in English, not in Italien, just in French. For spaghetti noodles, you can see on the web, on tripadvisor that we have a special machine that produces it, the asterisk means that the fish (only this) and we have 6 dishes of this, it undergoes methods of culling established by European laws and it seems strange to me being French you don't know the same. About the price on the menu, by law we have to indicate it because it is the first means by which a customer relates; you have also specified that white truffles cost more because it is more prestigious, but we do not oblige people to prey on it; as you may have noticed we also have numerous dishes to choose from a la carte that are not truffle-based (from appetizers to seconds, including sweets). We thank you anyway for taking your time to write a review that alas is not true but we appreciate the thought! There is freedom of speech... however I would like to say that it is not right to speak in this terms,(especially if you think who should be the final reader) because here all customers read and must have a real consideration of a place, (not only here, all over the world) so please for the next vo lta, when you're in a restaurant, expose your problems "on-site" and ask to be sure before you talk and thus avoid ugly figures with everyone.

The setting f the restaurant, the service, the food selection quality are all superb. I can see no areas where it could be improved. We both had truffle pasta dishes which were excellent. The wine selection is great and the Canneto Montepulciano that I ordered was one of the best I have tasted. This was a great way to spend our last night in Siena. Overall Siena has an excellent food scene.

I previously reviewed this Salumeria back in June 2015 when it was rated as the No: 1 restaurant in Siena and could not understand how it achieved that rating given that it was really just a salumeria and small delicatessen that had a very small internal seating area although there were also a few tables outside. Some four years later it is still no: 1 and obviously has a very loyal following on TripAdvisor. Not much has changed since our first visit. The small building is still divided into two areas, the shop with its meat, cheese, salad and fresh food counter on one side and a selection of other foodstuffs and fresh fruit on the shelves opposite. The other area has a small internal dining room and kitchen with a small number of tables. Since the date of my first review we have spoken to the owners of the apartment where we stay in Siena and have found out that this is their "go to" place whenever they are seeking to buy cold meats for a special family occasion. We have also had the opportunity to sample more of this salumeria's products that are largely made in-house. On this most recent stay in Siena we visited this shop on five occasions to buy various cold meats and pre-made salad items.Without a doubt the in-house made prosciuttos, salamis and, especially the porchetta, are some of the best we have tasted. Some of the salads and quality of the vegetables was also very good. There is also a good range of cheeses to choose from.During our visits we have found the owner to be very hospitable and, rightly, very proud of what he produces and very keen for people to sample his products. His coffee is also very good.
