We ate here twice. Once a buffet where the food was mediocre, nothing was delicious or worth a second serving. The truffle meal was better, with a lot of truffle, but two tiny pieces of pasta and not a tender piece of beef, unfortunately average. Staff is good. Location is okay. Not recommended, food in Toecane can be so much better. Hapimag advertised the restaurant as gastonomic which is laughable. Dear Mr. Robert S.,I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your visit to the restaurant. Normally we get many compliments for our restaurant, and especially this week guests came to me personally and complimented our truffle menu, which in your opinion was very good. Our specialities menu is also highly praised, as there is a wide selection and you can try out all the typical dishes. But of course, all this is also subjective. I would be pleased if you would still visit us and our restaurant again, I am sure your opinion will change. With kind regardsSergio CarboneResort Manager Pentolina and Tonda

We came across the restaurant by chance after visiting Abbey Di Salgano. We were welcomed by the very friendly owner who spoke about as much English as we spoke Italian. The place was very clean and the simple food we had was plentiful and delicious. We would certainly go back again if we could find it!

Darling little restaurant in Chuisdino! We dined her on a Friday night. I had pizza and my husband ordered pasta with wild boar. Both were tasty. Our server was very friendly and even showed us a picture of a wild boar he caught earlier in the week. Lots of laughter and lots of food & wine as we dined el fresco. WE noticed a grandmother type person bringing pizzas, salads and wine from the kitchen to a table of 30-35 people. The more they ate and drank, the more she brought. When we asked are server what was going on he replied, "It is a gathering place. Every Friday night the local families get together to eat, drink and visit with their neighbors" Delightful to watch!

La Ciottolona is a small restaurant with a shady cool garden and pool (don't forget your swim wear) :)The menu is based on the "slow food" movement with local ingredients and tasty surprises such as lemon in the tortellini and capers with anchovies in the vinegar they serve within the slices beef (tagliata di manzo). They also serve a refreshing white wine which goes great with the garden setting under the grape vines. The manager is super friendly and will make you feel at home in his restaurant.

Not many english reviews here but we had the pleasure of being a neighbor to this charming bar in Frosini. Not far from Siena and can be on your way into Rosia or Chiusdino and worth the stop. Pino is a wonderful host but you will need to know a little italian unless you just want to point. That works too. The meats are unbelievable. We had salami, prosciutto, hearty crusty bread, cheeses that can stand up to any of the meats and good tuscan red to wash it all down. If you are on the road near Frosini, stop and taste these delights. This place was hopping while we were there with all the funghi hunters stopping for a bite, it made for an even better experience.

As guests staying in the hotel it was an easy decision to take dinner here on one evening of our stay. Seating is either indoors or on the covered terrace, and as it was Saturday there was a singer accompanied by a couple of musicians; they were all surprisingly good and added to the special atmosphere of the place. We opted for the a la carte as we felt that the pricing for the tasting menus was on the high side for a 1* (in fact they are not dissimilar to a 2*). The food was well prepared and of a very solid 1* standard, using a lot of homegrown produce which is always nice to see. The fish main course could have had a slightly larger portion size as it was a main course rather than part of a tasting menu. The desserts were of a particularly high standard; some aspects showed more technique and finesse than the other courses - it is always good to see a strong pastry section. The service was very good throughout the dinner and it was a very pleasant evening. I'd certainly recommend dining here if you are staying at the hotel.Dear IntlTraveller21stc,Thank you so much for taking the time to write your lovely comments - we are so happy to read that you enjoyed both the atmosphere and the food at Meo Modo. Thank you for mentioning, among other things, the professional service of our staff - it was a pleasure to have you with us and we look forward to having you back again soon!

Not a lot of choices in small town, however this restaurant is very good. Deserves higher rating in town. It is important that you can park there as places difficult in town. Follow signs or ask a local. Generous portions of delicious food, cheerful service, small place with just a few tables, obviously favored by locals. So much better than high rated bistro galli, has varied menu and terrific, cheerful service. Dei galli pretty and well placed, but food bland. This is quite good.

This restaurant is a trattoria bonded to an agro-tourisic farm. They have some rooms to rent and they cook simple home food using their own vegetables and cereals to make fresh pasta and they sell their own wines. The quality is good but nothing really special. The service is very slow and you have to ask twice for what you need but, after having visited the nearby wonderful abbey, you can be more patient.

Thirteen of us had lunch at La Grotta and it was a delightful experience. Excellent house wine and bottled water were on our tables as soon as we arrived. We had a set menu because of the size of our group starting with fresh garden salad, followed by the best fried vegetables. Next came malfatti or gnudi, little round balls that would normally be wrapped in a ravioli pasta.Dessert was a delicious mascarpone slightly sweetened.Service was very good and the price was very reasonable.Highly recommended
