This Restaurant in Chiang Rai offer European, American and Thai à la carte. Fine dining in a romantic setting.
Well, everything started from my desire to eat a good steak in Chiang Rai. Having read about this place, we with my husband decided to check it. Before we come i had an impression that it's cafe with medium-priced menu. OMG. How wrong we were.Having opened the menu and seeing the prices, initially, i couldn't even believe my eyes: average price for steak more than 1000 baht! Seriously? Well, ok, we can afford it. But. This place isn't look like Michelin restaurant. Moreover, it isn't even look like restaurant. Cafe, no more,no less. Where the owner of this place had taken this prices? Well, ok, the size of the steaks is quite big - rather more, than in other steakhouses, but what about drinks? I prefer to drink wine (the glass is cost about 400 baht,by the way), but my husband prefers beer. And what we see in the beer menu? Yes, of course: conventional "Chang", "Leo" and the rest of beers, which we can buy in any 7/11 store. Yet again, seriously? The owner suggests my husband to eat the steak, cost 1500 baht, drinking "Chang" at the same time? No. It's not funny at all. I don't know, whether the other dishes are delectable, or not, but the name of the place is "Steak Specialist' and the concept of this place,in my opinion, absolutely hasn't coincide with what we expected from this place. There is why, i give only one star out of five.Hello, your feedback is either a joke Or you are just a cheeky person! They write: "average price for steak more than 1000 baht! Seriously?"This is absolutely wrong! They either are not able to read a menu properly or they are deliberately lying!Everyone can see on our website or, of course, on the menu; a rump steak starts at 570 baht including side dishes, sauce etc. We have 7 different beef steaks on the menu!Example 350 grams (!) Rib Eye imported from Australia, with beans in bacon, corn with homemade potato wedges and a red wine-thyme sauce or a pepper sauce. Price 1,060 baht. This is an average fair price in Chiang Rai.As I said, our steaks are IMPORTED from Australia. Grilled on lava rock. We are not talking about a "rag" from any small bistro where they get 150 grams of Thai beef with fries and salad for 400 Baht.In short, they deliberately lie or are unable to die in good restaurants. Then you write: "This place does not look like a restaurant but like a cafe?"Seriously? You just want to sell us here for stupid, right?I'm just wondering if this is a fake rating (paid by a competitor). You write: "Where the owner of this place had taken this prices?"I have calculated this. Professional, as I have learned in my German gastronomy education. So I calculate the prices and consider the market. We have priced +/- just like other equivalent restaurants in Chiang Rai. Can anyone easily check by just checking a few prices online. They write. We only have Leo and Chang beer and the like from the supermarket.Yes, we have six beers to choose from. We do not have so much storage and find six beers are enough.By the way: outside is the same menu as in the restaurant. WHY DO YOU COME IN and order? Then you go somewhere else to dine. That's why at restaurants, the menu is hung in front of the door! It seems like you really need to be told how to go out for dinner in a restaurant. How old are they? 6 years? And last but not least, the owner would have recommended a steak for 1,500. That's not true. First, we do not have a 1,500 baht steak on the menu and the owner - Tida Schaller was absent that night. If my staff have recommended you the T-bone steak 550 grams for 1,290 Baht (again including side dishes), then there will be a reason. You could just order a steak if you know it so well.In short, you are deliberately lying, misrepresenting and wondering why?And again I ask, why Tripadvisor does not do anything against this?Dear Reader, my feedback may sound outrageous, but I'm upset and annoying this appraisal system here enormously.Take a look at our website online. There you recognize:1) Our restaurant looks like a restaurant2) We have 3 local beer (80 baht each, which is really cheap for a restaurant) and 3 imported beers.3) You will see our menu including prices. You can compare this with other restaurants in Chiang Rai and see wur are in some dishes cheaper 40 baht or more expensive 40 baht.Or just have a completely different sense of quality. As I said. This person here is deliberately lying, is simply eating and recognizing quality, or simply a common man. I have never read such a false feedback on the internet as this one.Best regards,Michael Schaller

The Bistro at Chiang Rai Condotel is the nexus of the expat community and where many foreign tourists hang out. Serving home style European dishes and simple Thai dishes in an relaxed elegant atmosphere. Sample our specials...they change daily.
I ate here for both breakfast and dinner and found the food and service to be very good. They have a new chef / manager from the uk that started a month or so ago and they have a new menu. I recommend the pork steak which is excellent. Great coffee too and the staff makes you feel welcome.

I was given high recommendations for this restaurant, but was generally disappointed. There was nothing special about the chicken pizza I ordered - I have tasted plenty better at other Italian food establishments in Chiang Rai. In addition my wife ordered Salmon pasta and just got a few dots of flaky grilled salmon - nothing like a generous portion of smoked salmon served by other Italian restaurants. Our grandkids enjoyed their meals. It was very busy and completely full by 7.00pm on a Monday night - glad we came at 6.00pm and got the last large table.

WOOD FIRED FROM THE HEART FAVOLA, a specialty Italian restaurant by the Kok River, is the ultimate riverside dining destination in Chiang Rai for the "lazy gourmet" in a contemporary country scene, with breathtaking views of the Kok River and surrounding
Nice situation near the river. Amuse Boucher was good. The pizza is very thin and crisp and good. The risotto not so good. It tasted as if cream had been added making it sickly. The seafood was one prawn, two mussels and three pieces of over cooked rubbery squid. Not good and it lacked flavour. You must try the rhubarb crumble with tiramisu ice cream, very Italian? but delicious. Glasses of wine are extremely small however 100ml so work out expensive Dear lindseyknightThanks for your review. We do the best pizza on the Mekong. Or so our customers say. Thin, slightly crispy crust with organic salads and very good Australian beef for those who don't want pizza. Don't forget to try the fresh chocolate chip cookies. There's the usual assortment o
