If you like an Italian meal in a friendly, family restaurant, Carmelloâs is the place for you. The food is traditional Italian fare â lasagne, ravioli, cannoli, veal parmigiana, and chicken Marsala. You can also get a steak, if you want it, but the Italian menu is the highlight. Stella, the owner, and her son George are the chefs, and they are superb. When âmamaâs in the kitchenâ, you can count on a true Italian experience. The lasagna is the meal I most often return to.The wait staff is very friendly. When you have been there more twice, they know your name and greet as you walk in. When Stella is working in the front, itâs like your Italian mother is welcoming you.The place is intimately small, but with tables large enough to accommodate as many as eight or ten, and families are welcomed. On the other hand, though, if you are looking for a nice evening for two, the little tables on the side are an ideal place to enjoy your meal.If you are planning to dine on a Friday or Saturday night, reservations are highly recommended. Carmelloâs recently began to use Open Table for reservations, but you call in, too. The restaurant is not crowded, but they are busy on those nights. With reasonably priced entrees, itâs easy to make Carmelloâs a regular habit.Dear Mr. Terry,We would like to thank you for the five star review. We our glad you enjoy our restaurant and we thank you for your continued patronage. We look forward to seeing you soon.Sincerely,George Hedges

Red Pump features an open kitchen with a classic wood burning oven, which serves up fresh gourmet pizza and homemade pasta dishes. Our menu is filled with Mediterranean, Tuscan and Italian inspired dishes created with ingredients sourced from local Virgin
First, I don't really care how much I spend in a restaurant as long as I receive value--no problem paying for good food/service. It's all about value. I found Red Pump a poor value. "Wallet Dump" would be a more appropriate name than Red Pump. The prices were ridiculous. For example, $14 for 12 Brussels Sprouts and $17 for a little pepperoni pizza. They were okay, but not great. Overall the menu was disappointingly scant. Some imagination, but very few choices. Our waitress was a zombie--took our orders but only returned when orders were ready and seemed to be in a daze. She never checked in with us to see how everything was or whether we needed refills. The manager seemed to be doing her job and I had to find him to get a refill on my soft drink. I know this is a college town and perhaps an unmotivated workforce, but come on, if you're going to charge over $1 per Brussels Sprout, at least pay some attention. Those at our table who ordered wine were pleased with it, but they were small pours and steep prices. Entrees were okay, but again, quite small and overpriced. If you're going to charge these prices, you need to provide adult prices and non-comatose service. We were told this restaurant had a good reputation, but it we found it overrated, overpriced, and hipsterish. Not a place I could recommend, nor a place I'll revisit.

The pasta may be fresh and homemade, but still it was chewy and they only offer paparadelle or spaghetti. The pink lady sauce over spaghetti was very bland, probably okay for children. I ordered shrimp extra, was charged $6 for 6 puny shrimp. My partnerâs lemon shrimp/spaghetti dish came (obviously) with shrimp but he got twice as many for $6 less! Go figure. Entrees have no accompaniments such as bread or a side salad, nor were we offered Parmesan or hot peppers. We waited 40 minutes for a second glass of wine. Our water was never refilled. Okay, so apart from the tasteless food, the server was doing the job of at least 3 people, literally running from table to table. Doing the best she could for a before-theater crowd. Maybe there were staff no- shows. Who knows, maybe it was just a bad night.

All the elements were very enjoyable even though I made a "hard to make" reservation for V-Day only a few days before. They were very accommodating and the food was excellent. My wife rarely gets a steak that she enjoys but keeps ordering them hoping against hope that one will be served to her liking. This one was. Thank you, Vivace for fulfilling her desire, and for your "classy" joint!Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. Glad you enjoyed your dining experience.Prime beef is hard to beat. Chef Landon grew up in a butcher shop so we love Angus prime. We strive for excellence and our staff works hard everyday to provide a positive dining experience. Thank you!

My wife and I had our 15th anniversary dinner there with another couple and were extremely pleased. The staff made certain to wish us a Happy Anniversary upon our arrival and the decorated my wife's dessert plate with best wishes. The food is family-style, but exquisitely prepared. The pasta is not over cooked and the chicken francaise melted in your mouth. Highly recommend this place for a nice evening out with friends !!!

Always a wait no matter whet, but the service is pretty good, and they have such a tiny space for seating, no wonder. Our adult working family loves this place, we do too but always know its going to be along night.Pizza favorite of mine is that prosciutto and arugula. We tried the Vongole this time, and it was tasty. Fun place to go on a summer night.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to! Their cocktails are wide variety and were very good and inventive. As for the food....absolutely incredible!! I had the fig salad and Gorgonzola, the Carbonara. One of us has the Bolognese, which was the best dish! There was also incredible Sea Bass. Tiramisu was also the bear as was house-made Lemonchello was a good finish. They donât take reservations but we didnât have trouble getting a table on a Tuesday night and having a few cocktails while waiting wouldnât be a bad thing.
