Not quite what I expected from a Michelin recommended restaurant. Essentially it was a pizzeria. The wine was ok priced at a minimum of â¬20 a bottle and we had a pleasant bottle of red. The food was another matter. The meat platter as a starter for two was excellent but the main courses left much to be desired. Carbonara was watery. When questioned the waitress told us that the sauce was like fondue. We had never had carbonara prepared this way. It seemed like the pasta had not been drained properly and the residue water had the melted cheese in it. After looking at review we understand that the carbonara is prepared in front of us but this did not happen as, perhaps, they were to busy. I checked in Italy and was told that the carbonara had not been cooked properly. The pizza calzone was large, cooked well in the wood fires pizza oven but quite bland. If I ate here again I would just have a pizza. The restaurant was full and the take away pizza area seemed popular and the male waiters were attentive and the female waitress who I complained to was dismissive. The total cost for 2 aperitifs, bottle of wine and 2 courses was â¬76.

It's a rather tiny place so best to book aheadâ¦I was told that the wood fired pizzas at Da Anna Maria were the best in townâ¦of course when expecting such a level you are often more critical, as when going to see THE movie everyone is rabbiting on about, but to be fair, I found mine (margarita with buffala mozzarella and fresh basil) fairly decent and tasty.Nothing outstanding though, but I guess I was probably expecting a lot more due to my friend's recommendation. The chef is passionate about recreating the real napolitan pizza, with real napolitan ingredients (you won't find your average french pizza menu and liberal adaptation of regional dishes such as tartiflette pizza or merguez pizza for instanceâ¦) but I guess it is all in his honour. My favorite ingredient on a pizza being creamy melting goat cheese, I was somewhat disappointed, but understand that it is not something you would find on a traditional napolitan pizza, soâ¦never mind!I would return though. It's a good address and the service is fast and friendly, very clean bathroom (always a good sign!) and convenient central location in Chambery.Oh, and good value for money tooâ¦you can choose between two sizes, I think the smaller size would have been fine as I really struggled to finish the regular one.

Bistrot Gourmand Italien situé dans le piétonnier de Chambéry. Nous vous y accueillons avec grand plaisir.
Stopped into this restaurant for lunch with family as we were walking in Chambery, great location in the old city. Small restaurant very well decorated, simple menu and we received very good service. Daughter ordered the tomato/mozzarella entrée, was very good lightly seasoned with pesto and olive oil, big portion for â¬11.50, needed salt though. I ordered the lunch special which came with a green salad with warm toast with chevre cheese on top, good but the salad lacked dressing, oil or vinegar even then tagliatelle pasta carbonara which was very good (needed salt), also a large portion and finally a caramel mousse all for â¬14.50 great price for all that food. Hubby had the XXL burger which came with a small salad and fries, very good but slightly under cooked, since he didn't ask how he wanted it cooked we didn't think to say well done but it was good and also quite big at â¬14.50. Service was quick and can't say too much more about it other then yes i'd go back for sure.

A great Italian ristorante at Chambery, with fresh product, and delicious pizzas. If you like Tiramisu taste it is so delicious.
Difficult to find a restaurant in Chambery on a Monday evening (as many are closed). This one was was open and had decent reviews on TA. So we tried. We were nicely welcomed. We ordered a mix of bruscetta (OK), salads (quite good), pizza (considering we are in France it was OK), and tartar beef (to be prepared by the client - beef quality OK). A good Lambrusco (light and fizzy red wine from Northern Italy) was also available. Reasonable prices. All together nothing to write home about. But a decent place for dinner.

Stopped here to grab a quick lunch on our way back from skiing in Meribel and having hit the motorway traffic-jam! What a great surprise! We parked right outside, sat in the sunshine and had the most superb meal - can't remember the name, but the owner cooked the most fantastic half pizza! The taste was superb and the price was right and the owner could not have been more friendly. To top it all, we were able to walk round the old village after eating, just 50 meters away.

We arrived shortly before closing time but the owners were happy to serve us and we had a really nice chat with them whilst waiting for our pizzas to cook. Both were extremely tasty, and we'd happily return if in the area again!
