We found this restaurant through tripadvisor, and surprisingly our B & B host, who has lived in the area over 20 years hadn't eaten here. I am sure he will now send guests after we raved about the incredible chocolate cake, which here in the United States is known as chocolate lava cake. When we cut into the cake the warm chocolate flowed from the center. It was so incredible! This is a low key bistro. People were sitting outside, though they were smoking, so we sat inside. We had warms sandwiches, which while they were tasty, they were bread heavy. One couldn't taste the delicious combination of ingredients because the rolls were too heavy. The prices are very reasonable. There is plenty of parking across the street. The restaurant stays open quite late. We'd definitely recommend the restaurant, just maybe not a sandwich.Grazie , a presto .

Agriturismo - Piatti tipici friulani - Vini DOC Friuli Aquileia di produzione propria
Following a review in the "Guardian" newspaper, we tracked down this lovely agriturismo restaurant situated between Cervignano and Aquilea, on the road down to Grado. The food is typical Friulano fayre, very well cooked and with lots of choice. The gnocchi were as light as a feather, and the lasagna delicious, as were all the other home made dishes. Overall, a lovely meal that was enjoyed by each of us. the setting within a vineyard is beautiful, and their own produced Refosco and Friulano (Tocai) wines are superb. The wines are for sale, with especially good value wine boxes at â¬10.00 for 5 litres, and their superior wines at around â¬6.00 per 75 cl bottle, All in all we shall definitely return both for the food, the welcome and the winesand would recommend it for any visitor to the area.

We stayed for 4 nights, we were welcomed so open heartedly by Diego (he runs the Agriturismo) - the rooms were very very clean, pool also very clean and newly renovated, perfect for a vacation for a couple or with the family. Breakfast was a little unhealthy, but good nevertheless! Also the restaurant serves delicious dinner - the choices are limited because the menu is quite small, we had dinner there twice and enjoyed it a lot. Thank you Diego for making out stay so nice!

If you are into taking the road less traveled - e.g. Route SS 14 between Venice and Trieste (as opposed to the autostrade), this restaurant is the perfect lunch spot. While I had the special of the day, Spaghetti Vongole (incredible), my son had the diavolo pizza which was perfect: Thin, crispy crust and cooked to perfection. The only down note - the frito mixto which my wife expected to be a seafood salad but instead was a strange assortment of seafood covered in rich and creamy sauces too heavy to let any flavor thru. Oh well. Sometimes that is what you get when you eat local. BTW this is locals spot as not a lick of English was to be heard. (Don't let it deter you.)

We stopped here on the basis of TripAdvisor recommendations. It was a good choice. The ham appetizer was the best we had in the entire Fruili region. Really good. The Frico was OK but not my favorite choice. My wife had pork cutlets which were really good.

I've been here with my family and we found this restaurant through Tripadvisor because we got hungry on our way home. I really liked the special ambiente of Al Campanile. The staff was very friendly and I really felt at home. The food was great. I had prosciutto con melone, gnocci melanzane and millefoglie.I also loved that there were cats. I fell in love with the oriental one. And it seemed like it fell in love with me too. :)I'd love to come back here some time.

We were received very friendly and enjoyed an attentive service. A lot of informations about the vine and dishes without being too much. We enjoyed the big degustation menu with fish and seafood. All courses were wonderfully arranged, fresh ingredients and nicely composed aromas. The accompanying wines went very well with the courses and are offered for 10⬠plus on the price on the menu. The restaurant is decorated with a mix of a few antiquities and modern furniture. The grey peint, stone of the original walls and wooden roof give the room an elegant and warm touch. We highly recommend this restaurant for a special evening to enjoy high class Italian cuisine for a reasonable price (sure it is not cheap). I hope this young team will gain more and more guests what they deserve.

I had lunch at this place with a group of about 30 people. When I entered the place I immediately felt it had substance: there was great care for the details in a newly renovated building which according to the owners is one of the oldest houses in Staranzano. The food belongs to the local tradition and was actually very good. We had some samples of cheese, ham etc as appetizer (the cheese with chilli peppers was awesome). We then had a double first course with gnocchi with goulash and crespelle with some local filling... excellent! There was no second course in the menu we chose, which was appropriate because the sizes are quite generous. We, however, had a dessert... the tiramisu I got was good, but it seems the nuts pie was really awesome (judging from the comments my friends made). I didn't rave for the white wine (chardonnay, I think) which was served, but it could well have been a personal taste. I didn't try the red wine. In any case, plastic bottles for the wine aren't that nice and don't put the drinker in the right mindset, I would recommend glass ones...Service was nice, informal and attentive (they even gave us a small gift). My girlfriend must eat gluten free and they arranged a custom menu for her with no problem. One of us was vegetarian and his custom menu seemed also very interesting.Pricing, at just ⬠18 for all what we ate, was great!! I would definitely recommend this place.Probably because we were a large group, we were seated in a room which isn't the usual dining room, but was nice as well. I looked around a bit and found the "real" dining room and I found it to be quite nice... I hope to come back to this place one evening, it should be quite atmospheric.Dear lordartha, thanks so much for your comment, we are very glad of it. After all these kind words I can only answer to your observation about our wine. I'm totally agree with you: visually I prefer the glass bottle too. But at the end we are simple farm peaple and we prefer the substance to the appearance so I hope you enjoyed our wine in "plastic bottle" as well. Thanks, see you soon!
