We visited the birthplace of Santa Rita on a hot, dry June day. It was early for lunch, but we were welcomed by the friendly staff and seated at the table of our choice in the spacious and cool dining room. Service continued to be attentive and friendly, from start to finish. Food was excellent; my wife had the antipasto board featuring the local meat products, including wild boar sausage, cheeses, and a bowl of lentils with sausage - it was a meal in itself. I had my favorite, pappardelle with wild boar sauce. It was seasoned with juniper berries, as it should be, and was very good. Decent wine selection. My wife finished with a nice macedonia. Bathrooms were immaculate and fresh-smelling. A delightful, pleasant and refresing experience!

A wonderful evening to remember. Great location and outstanding food. Not to mention the wine list. For a modest price we did enjoy the dinner we were expecting. It was hard to pick the right dish, considering the vast amount of choice that Luigi, the barman and chef in charge of looking after us, provided us with. The quality of the food was exactly what one would expect from dining in such a scenario. All products were local and, above all, a pleasure for what regards taste. We were forced to order a second bottle of wine, especially after such a delicious meal.Furthermore, we found such a warm environment since the very moment we walked in. Luigi was great, friendly and highly committed to deliver the best both in terms of quality and.....quantity indeed!Every time we'll find ourselves in Cascia again....We already know where to go! Grazie amici!

This restaurant is part of the Hotel Della Rose. It is just a short walk from St. Ritaâs Sanctuary. On this visit, I ordered Tagliatelline Su Crema di Lenticchie (Guanciale Croccante e Scaglie di Pecorino) (13 Euros) as my main dish. This was an especially tasty concoction of egg noodles and bacon set on top of a bed of a type of chunky lentil sauce. The lentils added an unexpected flavor twist that I hadnât expected. It was quite good. For dessert, I had the Crepes Alla Crema e Salsa di Castaneda di Bosco (6 Euros.). The one lone crepe in this dish could have been larger. There was an odd after taste to the little crumbles of something that was added to the sauce. I could not make out what this ingredient was, but they did not complement the crepe. They were not good. I also had a Sprite (3 Euros.)The service was excellent. My waiter was very helpful and pleasant. He was patiently willing to answer all of my questions about the Italian-only menu.I enjoyed my main dish, but I would not recommend the dessert.

If you're looking for a quiet place with nice people you should visit Valle Tezze. What you get is a simple room with a good bed, window screens against the mosquitoes and a bathroom with a nice shower.Breakfast is limited to a piece of cake with ricotta and marmelade. Dinner is lovely with local specialties like lentil soup and a choice of sausages and cheese accompanied with good wines. They offer free WiFi but most of the time it's out of range in the rooms. The weather was pretty hot during our stay so the refreshing pool was very attractive. The place has no bar facilities. We cycled from Valle Tezze to Norcia, Onelli and Roccaporena, each time a gorgeous trek. We also visit Castelluccio and the flowering lentil fields, a 60 minutes car ride away.Gianni and Stephania thank you for a delightful stay at your place.

We both decided to opt for the 25⬠deal consisting of starters, two first courses a second course and a dessert with wine and water. I was really surprised by the quality of food offered. The starters were extremely good, cold meats, vegetables and bruschette...yummy. I was almost full after that. Then came a smallish portion of spaghetti with summer truffle, which was very nice and then follow by an amazing first course of stuffed pasta with walnut sauce...to die for. I was incredibly stuffed at this stage but we asked for a break and after a while we were brought the second course which had three types of pork along with a portion of oven cooked potatoes. I didn't manage to finish it all but it was extremely nice. Then finally dessert...thank goodness it was a cream with a meringue which was quite light. It again was very nice. I would highly recommend eating here for very good food with very good quality at an excellent price....One piece of advice, come on an empty stomach.

Great experience with a family run restaurant. We had a fun time trying to speak Italian. The restaurant did have their menu translated into English which helped in deciding what we wanted. Overall, great experience and nice to contribute to the local economy which was hurt by last years earthquakes.

This small and welcoming ristorante provides genuinely home cooked style food, from the tiny kitchen within. From the photos on the walls it's clear that generations of the same family have kept the tradition alive. I say 'basic' in the title as this should not be confused for a trattoria. It serves very simple food but you don't have to wait too long; I had the grilled sausages on lettuce leaves and it was literally just that, nothing more. Breads were given after seating and drinks order taken, but one had to ask for balsamic vinegar which was on standby. Friendly and attentive waitresses with some speaking good English too - there's a bilingual menu which is helpful for all tourists. I'd recommend this ristorante for someone not looking for a long, drawn out lunch. It's ideal for a quick bite to eat and popular with the locals unlike the pricier eateries.

We were visiting Norcia and were put off by the touristy restaurants there and discovered through Trip Advisor this restaurant 3km outside of Norcia. Believe me this is one of the best restaurants we've ever visited. The food was superb, all local produce cooked by the owner (mother) and served by her son who are very humble, friendly people. We went there for lunch and it seems to be case that one is always given a set menu based on the ingredients that are available. This was not a problem for us because everything was so delicious. You can sit inside or outside, on the terrace with dazzling views of the hillside.
