Arrived around 9pm after tiring drive from Malpensa. We were catered for at very short notice and had a really nice meal. The restaurant had lot of character next to the river, was warm and a really nice place to eat some nice food.

On your way to (or from) Alagna, this small wayside resaurant offers well-prepared local ingredients in season in a delightful setting, at a reasonable price. We enjoyed delicious light ravioli stuffed with handmade local cheese drowning in fresh melted butter with wild oregano followed by polenta with a wild boar stew, and a mushroom casserole made with the first of the season's porcini. The cost including drinks - â¬19 each. The scenery was hypnotic, the sound of the torrent on the other side of the road was occasionally punctuated by a passing vehicle, but life passed by very peacefully.

This is pretty little restaurant in the Sermenza valley. Excellent, friendly service and a small but interesting menu - although we didn't ask for it, an English translation was provided. Really good cooking and presentation. We liked our first lunch so much we went back again. A really enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

Very pleasant owner, managers, who made anything possible. Their enthusiasm for their work was amazing. Very near ski slopes but far enough away to avoid crowds. Family orientated but at the same time suitable for couples on a romantic break. Food wonderful. Host speaks perfect English but can give Italian lessons if so wished! Room had a small balcony and wonderful views. WIFI in room allowed us to stream NETFLIX

Ristorante piccolino, in centro, a conduzione familiare.

A simple restaurant with recipes from the local tradition this restaurant has a limited menu but very tasty dishes. I recommend the second course and the assortment of salami. Furniture is quite basic. Service is ok.

Cucina Italiana, tipica di montagna e pizzeria; selvaggina e carni piemontesi, menu particolari per gruppi su prenotazione
Stayed at the adjoining campsite for a week and ate at the Restaurant 3 times - great food each time. The restaurant is in a beautiful location and has very helpful and friendly staff. It caters for all parties, ranging from families with small children to groups of hungry Kayakers (who come to the valley for the amazing white-water and stay on the campsite). Likewise, the atmosphere suited a range of occasions from a relaxed meal with friends to something more special.

Located in the lovely village of Rassa, exactly the grand stone house by the bridge, very easy to find. Not sure about if they operate weekdays but surely in the weekends; is necessary to reserve in advance (and is written everywhere), they don't admit walk-in clients. They offer a set menu (30.00) that varies according to the availability of the produce; the day we went we had: plate of salami cuts (yummy) and cheese-cream made with mascarpone and pomace brandy (grappa; kids loved it, just they shouldn't eat 'em all!); peppers on bagna cauda; risotto with saffron and blue cheese; polenta with braised beef and a stew made with minced donkey meat (tapulone); ice-cream with fig tart. Everything was good, polenta was OK but better versions had eaten in other places but still not that bad. As written, the all for 30.00 each person coffee included but not drinks like water or wine. Pampered service. If happen to be in this area or day-tripping, this is a good eatery with the plus of the views.

I was here with friends from work taking a long weekend's skiing in Monte Rosa. I can only say what an interesting place and very nice people as hosts. The food was all local and and array of specialities. I am not a fan of pollenta but gave it a try and enjoyed the variety of local meats. Lovely old building surrounded by places and obviously a lot of history in the area. Sadly we visited at night so didn't get a chance to see the area that well. Would like to return during the day.
