Although officially known as a town, Braintree adopted a municipal charter, effective 2008, with a mayor-council form of government, and is considered a city under Massachusetts law. The population was 35,744 at the 2010 census. The town is part of the Greater Boston area with access to the MBTA Red Line, and is a member of the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission's South Shore Coalition. The first and current mayor of Braintree is Joe Sullivan. Braintree, Massachusetts is named after Braintree, Essex in England.

Excellent choice for dinner. Attentive and friendly service with a welcoming atmosphere. Grilled calamari as an app was perfect, while the stuffed chicken breast with many quality ingredients was tasty. The Swiss chard and mashed potatoes were delightful. The restaurant and bar especially seemed to have many regulars. If I lived in the area, I might be one of them. Recommend this restaurant for certain!

I dream of it....soft fresh bread, exact right amount of cold cuts, old school style chopped pickles, onions, tomatoes with oil and oregano. Grew up in the area but have since moved. Now it's a must stop any time we are anywhere near Braintree.

I canât say enough about Gennaroâs! Weâve been coming here for a few years. Having grown up with families that owned many of the most famous restaurants in the north end, Iâm no stranger to food Italian food. I was delighted to find really delicious, reasonable, Italian food in Quincy. Iâm really partial to their chicken parm or tortellini carbonara, but Iâve had all sorts of things Iâve enjoyed on their menu. Most importantly, the staff is incredible. They are really efficient, friendly, and make you feel like your family as a repeat customer. Thanks for being our favorite spot in this city, Gennaros!

We ordered our drinks...A Tropical Sangria for me & a Budweiser for my husband. The waitress brought me the regular red Sangria & my husband a Bud Light. She said that it was the Tropical Sangria even though it was wine red...oh well. My husband didn't complain.She brought the rolls and dipping oil. They were warm and delicious as usual. She asked if I wanted a salad (it came with lunch) I said yes and ordered it with balsamic vinegar...very fresh. My husband ordered the Minestrone Soup. It was mostly beans.We both ordered the Lobster Ravioli...very disappointing. It used to be really good, but this version was lacking flavor. We both agreed we should have ordered something else.I was happy that I had a coupon since we felt the meal was not worth the price. It took a while after we got the bill for the waitress to return to run my card through. I had to get her attention. Not many people in the restaurant that day.I am so sorry the ravioli wasn't as you remembered it and there were too many beans in your Minestrone - I'll let our team know. We appreciate your coming to Bertucci's !

Dined here on a groupon which had actually expired a year ago and they honored the price I paid, nice. Made a 5:30pm reservation for a Monday night. It was fairly empty inside, but had a cozy, welcoming feel. No booths, all tables, but the decor made you feel like you were in someones home, and it was very pleasant, nothing fancy, just a warm Italian vibe. The hostess and server was very nice. Typical extensive Italian menu. Had a great glass of red wine and the veal parm and the chicken marsala. Both portions very large, took half of them home, and they were outstanding. Fresh and tender. Sauces delicious. The scali bread was meh, but the humus it came with was very good and home made. Would have preferred a different bread to dip into the humus, but that was minor. A great dining experience and recommend! Def want to go back!

I've been here multiple times. Always a great meal at reasonable prices. Last night, I had the swordfish special. Awesome. My wife had the chicken with artichoke hearts . She loved it. Had the chocolate cake for dessert. Another hit. Our waiter, Brian, was over attentive (in a good way).

Mariaâs restaraunt In Braintree Mass supplies large portions of Italian and American fare at reasonable prices. When you arrive you will be seated and provided with a menu that has lots of choices, an ice water and Italian bread with butter. Friday and Saturday, Prime Rib is on the Specials menu. All entrees are served with a Greek or house salad that is a good size too. The quality, taste and portion size will keep you coming back to great value and service on a regular basis.

Met my daughter here for dinner who is a strict vegetarian. The menu is quite extensive - sandwich, burgers, Italian food, lots of seafood dishes, regular homestyle entrees, pizza, salads and soups, something really for everyone. My daughter had LOTS to choose from. The portions are large. The food came out quickly and was good. There's a nice atmosphere - you can dress up or be very casual and you will feel comfortable. Our waitress was excellent - according to the credit card receipt, her name was Marissa B. She was attentive, had bread and water on the table within minutes of us sitting down, and was not overbearing. She also knew the dishes on the menu when we asked her for suggestions. I would definitely go here again - we arrived around 7pm on a Friday and had to wait about 20 minutes. I don't know if they take reservations or have call ahead seating, but if you are in a rush, you might want to call and ask first.

We had dinner here with friends.First of all, the service was plain awful.Waited 2 hours just to order our dinner. One of the issues was that we didnât get any menus and when we asked, our waitress brought us 2 menus (for the 5 of us)....Anyway. Food was good but nothing Italian..no idea why this place is advertised as âItalianâ just because you have a couple of Americanized pasta dishes on the menu.Desserts brownie, creme brûlée, we didnât even try anything since they looked like your average stuff..typical chain restaurant food..Overpriced and disappointing..doubt it that I would go back.Thank you for your review of Davio's Braintree.
