Ankaran (Slovene pronunciation: [aŋkaˈɾáːn]; Italian: Ancarano [aŋkaˈraːno]) is a town in the Municipality of Ankaran, located near the border with Italy, in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is less than 5 km from the Italian town of Muggia near Trieste, about 2.5 km from the Italian-Slovenian border, 6.5 km from Koper, and 33 km from the nearest Croatian town, Buje. We had a soccer match in the area and they kept the pizzeria open for us. Very hospitable, very quick (good thing because our teenagers were HUNGRY after the game!) and above all, excellent Pizza served with a smile. Will definitely return!

The most inviting aspect of this restaurant is its location, sitting directly on the waterfront, it has a very pleasant atmosphere. The joy though ends there unfortunately as the fresh fish prices, which you aren't told at the time of ordering, are ridiculous for what you receive. Almost 100 euros for an average size sea bass plus the sides are an additional cost and the thing is it's not at all that special, no fancy labour intensive sauce comes out of the kitchen just the fish and not much of that either. The chefs name was proudly displayed on a board outside but why I don't know as no tatent to be proud of was displayed here. I left the restaurant feeling I'd hugely overpayed for what was distinctly average food and I definitely won't be back.

Servizio professionale e gentile. Ambiente accogliente. Prezzo giusto. Consigliatissimo.

Hiden within narrow streets of Muggia center Splendor is providing family atmosphere and probably is family owned and family managed. Menu is not big however enough to enjoy lunch after short walk or visiting mearby clothes outlet. We've eaten fish and other seafood, then chocolate muss for desert. White wine as house wine was OK too.

CAPRA is a Mediterranean restaurant and coffee house located just a few steps away from the sea on the main town promenade. Known for its attractive unique dishes and desserts CAPRA attracts exigent customers, but also those who would like to try a high q
Itâs mostly sea food, you can also find meat dishes. But both are so delicius (fresh) and filling that theyâre worth the price. Prices are around 10-20 per dish. And the service is so kind that youâd like to stay and chat.

We were there with the family for dinner and were absolutely stunned how great the food was. We had a fantasic 4 course dinner and enjoyed every single dish we got. The owner is a lovely person who explains everything in details, knows and loves cooking and you notice immediately that this is his passion. Excellent food and excellent service in a relaxing atmosphere with great view. We were happy that we found this little gem. Reservation is recommended as the restaurant is not that big (although we were lucky and got a seat with coming in like that, but we arrived pretty early).

Fish dishes , appetizers , first, second only on order also meat dishes
We took a mid morning ferry from Trieste to Muggia on a beautiful Sunday morning and were charmed by the relaxed atmosphere of the town. We considered several places for lunch but so luckily picked this wonderful restaurant. The husband and wife team work smoothly to deliver the finest food experience. The mixed seafood antipasto was superb - such choice and flavours. The stuffed ravioli and prawns were sublime in flavour. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the welcome extended to us. My Italian is poor but I hope enough to communicate our appreciation. So sad time did not permit a return visit

Found that place which is hidden in one of the small streets towards the hill in the old town by chance. The have a nice situated outdoor seating area and the menu below, which immediately attracted us. Also the reddish colored thin bread (like the indian papadam) which we saw was very intersting.Well finally after we managed to get a table it was a pleasure to be here - Food was excellent (not only visually but also from its taste and point of cooking).- Squid salad with fermented vegetables and fruits- Tortello al nero (open "ravioli" with mussels)- Linguine in busara- Squid in black ink with white Polentaand some more.Absolutely enjoyed the food and can strongly reccomend it!BUT as some other people here mentioned, the service is somehow strange and doesn´t look like they enjow the customers and/or work.We passed by around 7 pm and all tables inside the restaurant and in directly in front of it where free and not reserved and been told we can only sit on the terasse. The outside seating terasse was half full and all tables reserved (for whatever time). We had been told that in about 1,5 hours we could get a table for us 2.So strolled around the city to find another place but compared to the menu here we didnt want to ge anywhere else.Came back about 1/2 hour later to have it nearly the same just that there where people meanwhile sitting directly outside of the restaurant.Asking again if we might sit now here too - the waiter said ok and we should wait.We waited 10 minutes he prepared one table in front and then told us there is a table on the terasse.Ok - here there where still some 5 table free (which pretty much stayed the way during our dinnertime).Staff was basically somehow "friendly" and busy but everything took "the italian time".Looking at the tables and asking guest for something else ... no way. Passing by the table "1oo" times before they might consider asking if we would like some more bread or coffee after the meal or else...So at the end:Food really nice - reccomandationPlace also really nice - reccomandationService - well decide yourself but compared to the quality of the other parts definately below and could surely be improved in my eyes.buongiornograzie per la recensione e per i complimenti al cibo.
