Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Andernach. Andernach (German pronunciation: [ˈandɐˌnax]) is a town in the district of Mayen-Koblenz, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, of currently about 30,000 inhabitants. It is situated towards the end of the Neuwied basin on the left bank of the Rhine between the former tiny fishing village of Fornich in the north and the mouth of the small river Nette in the southeast, just 13 miles (21 km) north of Koblenz, with its five external town districts: Kell, Miesenheim, Eich, Namedy, and Bad Tönisstein. A few hundred metres downstream of Andernach the Rhine valley narrows from both sides forming the northern part of the romantic Middle Rhine stretch. Already in Roman times the place the narrow passage begins was named "Porta Antunnacensis" or Andernachian Gate. It is formed by two hills, the Krahnenberg (engl. Crane hill) and the Engwetter (Narrow weather) on the right bank near the wine village Leutesdorf (external town district of Bad Hönningen). The crane hill is named after the old crane beneath his foot (see below); in earlier times (until 1650) the hill was named "Geiersberg" ("Vulture's hill").

I don't know how many tourists visit Neuwied. We probably wouldn't have except for an empty day with no plans. So we took the train down and started walking around. After a couple of hours of picture taking and window shopping, it was time to find something to eat. As an Asian, pasta isn't exactly on our menu, but I relented after my husband read the menu board outside of this eatery. I really began to worry when we saw no other customers inside. I quit worrying when the first dish hit our table. As I said, I'm not a fan of Italian food. But I AM NOW A FAN of the La Palma! The salad was fresh and tasty, and the huge plate of fried calamari was as tender as the steamed veggies that accompanied it. I love seafood and this is one of the best dishes I've had anywhere. My husband ordered minestrone and a baked combination of lasagne, macaroni, tortellini. and spaghetti for 6.40 euros. He was quiet so that means he was happy. After the meal our waiter brought us a small caramel dessert and shots of Amaretto. It was his gift to us. We may never get back to this little restaurant. But it is our hope that this review will inspire others to visit a place who offers good food at a good price. This review is our gift to them.

Al Castello is a good place to enjoy your pasta or pizza next to the Neuwied castle. This Italian restaurant is nicely decorated. It offers indoor and outdoor dining. The service is very friendly and the nenue offers delicious traditional Italian cuisine, but also other choices.

A good range of italian dishes. The group of us ordered a wide range of both starters and main meals and everyone enjoyed and ate what was served.Pleasant staff who and as the place is relatively small it developed a great atmosphere, even on a Tuesday evening.
I went there with my family as we hadn't been before and Italian restaurants are somewhat of a rarity in Andernach. Unfortunately this place can hardly be called Italian. The food was terrible. My dad wisely ordered everything "al forno" as he didn't have too much confidence in it and baked with cheese always tastes somewhat ok. He had the scampi al forno as a starter. It was 8 euros and had 8 shrimp in it. I can't help but wonder where they came from. I had spaghetti alio e olio as my main. Didn't think you can go very wrong with that. Turns out you can. First of all, the portion was way too big. They used very low quality oil. There was no fresh garlic, but dried garlic flakes and/or garlic salt. Parsley was also not fresh but frozen. I couldn't eat more than a third. My mom had a pizza. Turns out it's frozen bases that just are topped with whatever is needed. We could only eat half of it. Try to avoid eating here!!!
I have been to this restaurant several times and will return with pleasure. Nice decorated, excellent food, friendly staff. A corner of Italy in Germany!

After visiting geyser we were looking for place to eat but most of the restaurants in the town were closed in the afternoon. We were happy to see this one open and didn't think too much about entering. We were only guests there and we probably disturb their staff from siesta. They weren't too friendly, spent most of their time sitting at the terrace and checking their phones. Nevertheless we received our meal after some time of waiting and it looked and tasted excellent. It was definitely worth that waiting. Together with peaceful environment of the beautiful historical square it was one of the highlights of our trip to Andernach.

Ai Pero is divided into 3 sections. Enoteca, Trattoria, Ristorante. While the Enoteca is our Bar area for pre or after dinner drinks you will recieve a wide range of classic Italian dishes in our Trattoria. Not only Pasta & Pizza but also seafood and meat
Went here for a quick lunch after a lovely dinner the night before at the sister restaurant Yoso right next door. The Ai Pero Ristorante got its star earlier in the month so therefore we thought to try out the trattoria. The environment of the restaurant was inviting and warm with a spacious and modern rustic style. The service team were excellent and efficient. The food was good with sizable portions and good quality ingredients. I had a Tagliatelle al tartufo nero starter which was lovely and creamy and of a good standard. The main was a veal Piccata Ala Milanese with a side of pasta with tomato sauce which was not as tasty as I had hoped and fell a bit flat on my palate. My husband had a pizza which they did well. The food and ingredients are of a good standard and I expect there are better dishes on the menu so I will go back and try again in hopes of getting something with more zest. For such places, there is normally one dish or flavour which embeds itself into your palate and brings you back â I havenât found it here but am hopeful to try it again and see if it works. This place has a lot of potential given its lofty siblings so it is worth a second shot.
