I recently dined at Lo Schiaffo while on a business trip to Frosinone. The drive to Anagni was beautiful! The restaurant is nestled off the main road, but the restarant is quite comfortable in size. Not only was our waiter very friendly, but the chef/owner came out to greet us and returned later to see how we were enjoying our meal. The wine selection is large, the menu is limited, but everything we ordered was prepared with much attention. When I return to Italy, I will definitely return to Lo Schiaffo!

A short drive from Rome made me discover this surprising restaurant. In a lovely location, which has nothing to envy to the world known Tuscan landscapes, the friendly staff welcomed me in the warm and comfortable interior of the restaurant. During my order I got the first surprise: all served food are "0 km" biological products, from vegetables to meat, everything is made just behind the restaurant (as a real Italian "Agriturismo" should be). The service was fast and led me quickly to the biggest surprise of the day: delicious courses based on Italian receipts revisited with style, highlighting the peculiarity of the great products used. I personally could enjoy smells and tastes which nowadays are, unfortunately, rare. I strongly recommend a visit to taste Italian culinary traditions!

We had picked-up family at the airport and were headed south on the A1. We decided to try our luck at finding a place at the Anagni exit and drove up into the town. Just inside the ancient gate on the left is this restaurant. Our luck was with us that day as the food and service was excellent. The five of us had pasta and contorni with a bottle of wine for â¬75.The building used to be the Cardinal's residence and each room is unique. The atmosphere and food and a perfect match. We will be sure to stop here again on own of our ventures north to Rome.

We have dined here several times now and have never been disappointed. Last week we had antipasti, rabbit and pasta carbonara accompanied by a bottle of Bisaid. All very high quality. The setting outside the Duomo is delightful and the service is consistently friendly and professional. We are going again today and are really looking forward to it.

Was expecting more from this restaurant as it is ranked 2nd among the ones in the city. The Antipasto misto was quite good, and fairly priced. The first courses, however, were quite dissapointing: the Cacio e Pepe was a bit too salty, and the Polenta with Mushrooms was too watery and did not really taste of much. The seconds were a bit better: the melted cheese with radicchio was fine, and so was the grilled pork.Overall, this is an acceptable option to dine in the city, if you do not want to spend much, and if your expectations are not too high.Buongiorno Inglese. Antonio

We had no idea what to order, our Italian is weak, had the bruschetta to start, be warned they are huge, and 2 pasta dishes also large portions. The ambience of the restaurant and the views make it a special place

The Cantina della Valle was a great experience. We had lunch and there were just me and my wife, another couple from Puglia, and a friend of the proprietor/waitress sitting at a table drinking beer. Marcella kept bringing out tons of antipasti, mostly meat (home-cured sausage, prosciutto, mortadella) and cheese (more ricotta than we could possibly eat, fresh mozzarella, and something similar to soft parmesan), and a couple nicely prepared dishes with tomato and a fried vegetable that we could not identify. We could have been happy with the antipasti alone. Between each plate, Marcella's friend would egg her on to tell another anecdote about the place and about Anagni. She would tell a story and I would do my best to translate into English for my wife. The stories were mainly about the history of Anagni and the surrounding buildings. She told about the concubine of Domitian who helped build/restore the baths there. She talked about St. Francis and his visit, and Dante and his visit. She talked about the monastery in the building surrounding the restaurant, and how they excavated a cistern (she said poggio, or "well", but she made it clear that it stored rainwater and wasn't a spring). She passed out a collection of Roman coins she said came from the well. I've excavated at Roman sites and own a few coins and these looked suspiciously fresh. A lot of the anecdotes seemed ben trovati too, but it was fun. The primi piatti was a simple uninspired pasta dish with a tomato sauce and a fatty, bacon-like meat in it. As other commenters have mentioned, it was a fixed price of 25 Euro per person, including water, wine, and coffee. We ate a lot and drank a lot. It was mainly fun to hear Marcella and her friend and feel like a bunch of friends more than a unique culinary experience.

Excellent fresh food, with local materials such as Bufalo Amaseno, which provided a delicious steak. The husband and wife team is extremely dedicated. The interior is sophisticated, white linen on the tables and one room decorated with fresco's. Wine advice is accurate and many choices by the glass allowing us to taste the local Cesanese wines.

We went once for dinner and once for lunch. Was really good. Great wine list. Lovely pasta and the anti pasti shouldnât be missed. Great new addition to Fiuggi. And the decor is lovely - very minimalist and tasteful
